Very nice stay overall. The room was super nice and fully up to Mövenpick’s premium standard. The staff were also extremely friendly, and they were very flexible — they even offered breakfast, which I really appreciated. I spent my Christmas Eve there, and they had an event by the swimming pool. It was a bit pricey, but you could see they put a lot of effort into it, and higher prices are expected in a premium hotel. The location is very good, close to the main attractions and also near the airport by taxi. The hotel has a nice swimming pool and a jacuzzi, and the view from the pool area is quite open with a beautiful mountain backdrop. There are also several restaurant options on-site, which is convenient. Overall, it was a solid and enjoyable stay, and I definitely recommend it.

Very nice place to stay in, located in the center of Muscat and 20 minutes by car from the airport. We stayed in an executive suite, which is more than 70m2, with terrace. It was great. You have also a swimming pool on the last floor where you can swim and enjoy the view of Muscat

Ich blieb nur eine Nacht, aber das Zimmer war sauber, das Bett war komfortabel, der Service war großartig, das Essen war lecker.. Ich mag die Tatsache, dass wir zum Operhaus gehen könnten, da es wirklich nahe dem Hotel war. Das Sicherheitsniveau war hoch. Eines, was ich nicht mag war, dass, wenn ich zum Frühstück beide Male den Geruch von Nahrung war wirklich stark, dass es sich den ganzen Tag an meinen Kleidung gebunden, es sollte eine Lüftung für das Kochen geben.

My stay at IntercityHotel Bawshar was truly wonderful — it felt like a little home away from home. The location couldn’t have been better, with so many major tourist spots just minutes away, making exploring the area easy and stress-free. What really stood out to me was the warmth and kindness of the staff. From the moment I stepped in, the reception team greeted me with genuine smiles, the security staff made me feel safe, and the housekeeping quietly took care of everything so my room was always spotless. Dining at the Gourmet House was a real highlight — the food was fresh and delicious, and the restaurant staff always made me feel welcome, like I was a valued guest rather than just a customer. After long days of sightseeing, unwinding by the clean, refreshing pool or hitting the gym felt like the perfect way to recharge. Overall, my time at IntercityHotel Bawshar was both relaxing and enjoyable. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly place to stay with great amenities and a warm atmosphere.

Gute Lage: Ein großer Supermarkt und zahlreiche Restaurants befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe, und die Einkaufszentren Oman Avenues und Muscat Grand sind in nur einer halben Stunde zu Fuß erreichbar. Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Sultan-Qabus-Moschee, die Oper oder der Qurum Beach liegen ganz in der Nähe des Hotels. Mit dem Taxi erreicht man den Flughafen in nur 15–20 Minuten. Die Bushaltestelle der Linie A1 an der Sultan-Qabus-Straße ist ebenfalls nicht weit entfernt. Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr freundlich; mir hat besonders das Frühstück dort sehr gut gefallen.

Decent hotel, rooms were big for nothing really cheap and plain decor fake marble tiles room interior was not matching the hotel price or downstairs lobby, for the price of hotel all amenities and mini bar was chargeable also price of breakfast was not worth the money, the dressing table was a joke unusable plugs socket on dressing table, huge construction site outside the hotel only attraction was the 5 star restaurants on site keep your wallets loaded 😉

Mein jüngster Aufenthalt im Mandarin Oriental Muscat war insgesamt angenehm und hatte mehrere bemerkenswerte Höhepunkte. Die Lage des Hotels in der Nähe des Strandes ist fantastisch und bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf Maskat und die umliegenden Berge. Die Innenräume sind wunderschön gestaltet und mit natürlichen Materialien ausgestattet, die eine luxuriöse und beruhigende Atmosphäre schaffen. Die Zimmer waren äußerst komfortabel, mit ausgezeichneten Betten und hochwertiger Bettwäsche, die für einen erholsamen Schlaf sorgten. Ich schätzte auch die durchdachten Annehmlichkeiten im Zimmer, darunter guter Tee, eine Nespresso-Maschine und Wasser in Glasflaschen – eine gesunde und umweltfreundliche Note. Das bereitgestellte Duschgel, Shampoo und die Spülung waren von großartiger Qualität und die Zahnpflegesets waren anständig. Mir fiel jedoch auf, dass einige Zahnpastatuben nicht frisch waren, da die Paste nach einigen Sätzen fest und trocken geworden war. Darüber hinaus war das Rasierset vom billigsten Preis, was nicht mit den ansonsten hohen Standards des Hotels übereinstimmte. Das Frühstück war gut, aber nicht ganz auf dem Niveau, das man normalerweise von Mandarin Oriental erwartet. Hier besteht definitiv noch Verbesserungsbedarf, aber ich glaube, dass das Hotel dies mit der Zeit verbessern wird. Das Personal war höflich und professionell, was zu dem insgesamt positiven Erlebnis beitrug. Da das Hotel noch neu ist, würde ich das Gesamterlebnis, einschließlich des Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisses, mit 3,5 von 5 Punkten bewerten. Ich bin zuversichtlich, dass das Hotel diese kleinen Lücken mit der Zeit beheben und das Erlebnis verbessern wird, um den tadellosen Standards zu entsprechen, für die die Marke bekannt ist.

Wir bekamen ein Zimmer mit Blick auf das Kyriad Hotel. Die vielen Klimaanlagen im Außenbereich machten es unglaublich laut und an Schlaf war nicht zu denken. Nach vier Stunden Wartezeit bekamen wir in der zweiten Nacht ein anderes Zimmer. Als wir um eine kleine Entschädigung baten, zum Beispiel ein kostenloses Frühstück für die schlaflose Nacht, hieß es, das sei nicht möglich. Der Kundenservice war also miserabel.

The Chedi brand never fails to disappoint. And the Muscat experience does it so much justice. And more. The usual “black pool” (2 of them actually), a gym like really really no other. And… the service. All the way up there. There should be more Chedi in the world! Special to Marebel and Anton who made our breakfast just perfect

Booked this for our 1st time visit to Oman and we stayed here for 12 days. If you are only staying 2-3 days this hotel may be ok - but for longer stays I would not recommend. Positives: Great location if you like genuine Asian food - excellent cheap and mid-price restaurants within a few minutes walking distance - Indian Vegetarian and non-veg restaurants too. Mosque within walking distance Friendly helpful cleaning staff - most of them try their best to make your stay comfortable. Very big room sizes Good Wifi Comfortable beds. Free water bottles on request Fairly easy to get OTaxi within 2-3 minutes each time. Negatives: Mould in the bathroom, water leaks out of the shower onto the main bathroom floor - making a slip hazard No caddy in the shower to hold your soap or shampoo etc, so you have to keep bending down to the floor to get or put your shampoo bottle. Shower pressure was very very low - so no refreshing shower after a long day out. It was enough to wash your body but takes several minutes (water was hot OK). Some of the sockets in the room do not work - so you have to keep unplugging things to use something else. When we asked for an iron, the gave us a barely functional one with steam controls missing and no heat level markings so you are scared to use it in case you get a shock and/or burn your clothes. The 1st ironing board we were given belonged in the bin - I am not exaggerating - the cover to the board was ripped in multiple places, and bits of metal were sticking out - guaranteed to rip your clothes when ironing. The 2nd ironing board was new but the cover did not stay in place - so you spent twice as long constantly re-adjusting the cover than ironing your clothes. The hairdryer had a difference plug than the sockets in the room - luckily I had my own converter. The access card for our room door kept resetting every single day for the 1st 6 days. Every evening we come back, go up to our room and the card does not work - so we have to go back down again to get the card programmed. One on evening, I had to go up and down the lift 4 times - yes 4 times - because the lady on reception seemed to hear the number 3 when I say 2 - I don't know how to confuse room xx2 for xx3 - English is my 1st language and I speak at conferences, and with English speaking colleagues and clients around the word every working day. Even though, the first two times I went down the card actually had a sticker with the room number on it - but she still managed to program the wrong room number twice. On the 3 visit, she gave me a new card - but still programmed the wrong room number. On the 4th visit she finally said 'ah you mean xx2 not xx3' - and then she laughed and shared a private joke with her colleague. I got the feeling she was bored of the job and liked to play games with the hotel guests to cheer herself up. Eventually after 6 days of this, I complained to a male member of staff on the desk and he programmed the card once and it worked fine for the remaining days. The small fridge freezer remained on 24x7 - even on the lowest setting - so you heard the constant buzzing sound all day and night. It even froze and ruined some of our fruit which was in the fridge section and not in the freezer section. The batteries in the safety deposit box had corroded and you could not operate or program it. They gave us some keys for the safe, but they did not work properly - so we were scared to lock anything in the safe - in case you could not unlock it again - funny hah! The shampoo and shower gel bottles were called something like Eco wash - but they were almost always only half full - so you had to use a single bottle of each every time you showered - so we probably used at least 45-50 bottles between us during our stay - what a waste of plastic.
