I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Baibale and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting the Lancang area. The facilities were excellent—everything was clean, comfortable, modern, and thoughtfully maintained. After long days of cycling, it was the perfect place to rest and recover. One detail I especially appreciated was the generous standard checkout time of 2:00 PM, which made departure much more relaxed than at most hotels. The included breakfast and lunch were both fantastic. The food was fresh, delicious, and gave me a great opportunity to enjoy local flavors without having to rush out to find a meal. What truly sets Baibale apart, however, is the staff. I was bikepacking across China and later flying onward, and they went far above and beyond to help me throughout my stay. Whether it was assisting with logistics, answering questions, or simply taking the time to make sure everything was going smoothly, they consistently showed genuine kindness and hospitality. One of my favorite parts of my stay was spending time talking with the staff about the different local teas. They were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to share their passion, making the experience feel much more personal than just staying at a hotel. Those conversations, along with all of their other thoughtful help, made my time in Lancang especially memorable. If you’re staying in the Lancang area, Baibale is a place you shouldn’t miss. Between the excellent facilities, great food, generous checkout time, and some of the warmest, most attentive hospitality I’ve experienced anywhere, it was easily one of the highlights of my trip across China.

Wahrscheinlich die besten Hotels in Ninger im Jahr 2026, alle neu. Ein wenig von der Stadtzentrum (7 kuai Didi), ruhige Lage, Zimmer sind groß und sauber, aber Dekor ist ein wenig schwimmlos. Spezial: der große Schwimmbad, selten in Yunnan in einem Hotel. Die Balkone der Zimmer sind eine schöne Idee, aber in der Realität wenige Verwendung.

Ich glaube, die Buchung dieses Hostels war die beste Entscheidung, die ich hier getroffen habe! Ich wurde von einer Freundin auf Xiaohongshu empfohlen. Ich kam hierher, ohne viel recherchiert zu haben, aber jeder Tag war vollgepackt mit Aktivitäten. Ich war auf einer Solo-Reise, habe hier aber so viele wundervolle, unabhängige Mädchen kennengelernt. Wir saßen zusammen am Lagerfeuer und gingen zusammen fischen. Die Besitzer sind auch super herzlich und freundlich, besonders die weibliche Besitzerin möchte ich loben. Sie ist eine sehr nachdenkliche Person, die inspirierende Dinge sagt. Wenn Sie das Glück haben, diese Unterkunft buchen zu können, nehmen Sie sich die Zeit, diesen Ort auf sich wirken zu lassen – eine entspannte Zeit, eine Zeit zum Träumen. Ich bin sicher, Sie werden hier etwas Wertvolles finden. Die ursprüngliche Absicht der Besitzer war es, mehr Solo-Reisenden eine sichere Zuflucht zu bieten. Hier gibt es auch Einweg-Bettwäsche und andere Utensilien, was das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis unschlagbar macht!

Service: sehr gut! Vorab geregelte Station pick-up. Leicht zu kommunizieren. Sehr freundlich. Frühstück: für diese Art von Stadt und Hotel sehr gutes Frühstück. Salat, warme Gerichte und einige Süßigkeiten. Absolut ausreichend. Zimmer: sehr sauber. Schöner Stuhl, um die Aussicht zu genießen. leistungsfähige Dusche und Toilettenfluss. Alles, was ich brauche Gym: für ein Hotel dieser Größe und Preis absolut erstaunlich Lage: nahe dem Bahnhof und zu Fuß zu Tee Terrassen (wenn Sie gerne Wandern) Zusätzlich: kostenlose Getränke im Kühlschrank neben der Rezeption. Kostenlose Wäscherei. Viele kleine wunderschöne Details. Perfekt bleiben

Das Hotel ist in der Altstadt, es ist sehr bequem zu schmücken, der Boss ist sehr enthusiastisch, aktiv helfen, die leckere Küche in der Altstadt vorzustellen, der Ort, an dem es Spaß gibt (¯▽¯) 👍, ist, dass viele Geschäfte in der Altstadt dekoriert werden, es ist gut für eine Zeitspanne, im Allgemeinen ist es immer noch gut, der Boss hat auch das Zimmer aktiv aktualisiert, Sehr ruhige Nacht, sehr komfortabel schlafen, die sanitäre Schwester ist auch sehr enthusiastisch 🤗

Mein Lieblingsteil dieses Aufenthalts war die Erfahrung, die ich hatte, als ich Tee mit Tante, ihren Freunden und dem Personal trinkte. Sie sorgten sich um mich, um sicherzustellen, dass ich ok war und dass ich einen angenehmen Aufenthalt hatte. Wir hatten tolle Gespräche mit Übersetzung und wir mussten etwas mehr über die Kultur voneinander lernen. Ich genossen wirklich, über all den Tee zu lernen, die mich versuchen lassen. Sie zeigten super Gastfreundschaft. Es war eine so große Erfahrung für mich und ich würde jedem, der aus dem Vereinigten Königreich reist, empfehlen zu besuchen. Danke Tante, Freunde, und Mitarbeiter in diesem Hotel, es war ein Highlight von meinem Besuch in Pu’er!

When I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

Ursprünglich hatte ich nur eine Nacht gebucht, um am nächsten Tag weiter nach Laos zu reisen. Ich blieb aber noch eine zweite Nacht, weil das Zimmer geräumig war und der Blick aus dem Fenster so erholsam. Was das Zimmer betrifft, gefällt mir der Schreibtisch, an dem ich arbeiten konnte. Und dass Dusche und WC durch einen Paravent getrennt sind. Am zweiten Tag wurde mein Zimmer frisch gemacht, die Toilettenartikel wurden aufgefüllt und die Handtücher gewechselt. Ich wünschte, die Pension würde ein System einführen, mit dem Gäste angeben können, ob sie dieselben Handtücher benutzen möchten. Ich bin umweltfreundlich, und wenn ich meine Handtücher zu Hause nicht jeden Tag wechsle, sehe ich auch keine Notwendigkeit, das zu tun, wenn ich unterwegs bin. Außerdem gefällt mir die Lage, da ich bequem mit der Buslinie 3 zu einem nahegelegenen Einkaufszentrum fahren konnte (ich habe dort bei KFC gefrühstückt) und dann die Straße überqueren konnte, um mit der Buslinie 8 zum Meizi Lake Park zu fahren. Ich habe dort etwa drei Stunden verbracht und dabei auch Kaffee und Kuchen im Café am Parkeingang genossen. (Mein größter Kritikpunkt war, dass ich in Pu'er nicht einmal eine Tasse Pu'er-Tee trinken konnte :)) Danach fuhr ich mit der Buslinie 8 zurück, um in die Buslinie 3 umzusteigen und die antike Teepferdchenstadt zu besuchen. Anschließend fuhr ich mit der Buslinie 3 zum Einkaufszentrum, aß zu Abend und kaufte bei Walmart ein, bevor ich mit der Buslinie 3 zurück zur Pension fuhr. Direkt gegenüber der Pension befindet sich eine Laufstrecke. Vergesst es, die Strecke komplett zu laufen. Sobald ihr rechts einen Hang seht, geht hinauf. Ihr habt einen schönen Aussichtspunkt und dort gibt es ein nettes Café. Bei gutem Wetter könnt ihr sogar den Sonnenaufgang erleben! Ich war morgens dort, das Café war geschlossen, deshalb habe ich es nicht besucht. Hätte ich von diesem Café gewusst, wäre ich gleich am ersten Tag hingegangen. Vielleicht könnte der Betreiber der Pension eine Karte mit Informationen zu leicht erreichbaren Sehenswürdigkeiten erstellen. Das könnte für Reisende, die unkompliziert reisen, zu längeren Aufenthalten führen. Pu'er ist eine gut geplante Stadt. Ich mag sie und werde anderen empfehlen, dort Zeit zu verbringen. Übernachten Sie unbedingt in diesem Gästehaus. Die umliegenden Teeplantagen werden Ihnen neue Kraft geben!

Das Zimmer war sehr zufriedenstellend. Für eine Hütte in einem feuchten Wald war sie außergewöhnlich gut gepflegt. Auf dem Bett gab es sogar eine Heizdecke. Nach einem anstrengenden Tag war es einfach wunderbar, sich in das warme Bettzeug zu kuscheln. Ich möchte auch die Freundlichkeit des Personals hervorheben – sowohl das Empfangspersonal als auch der Shuttleservice waren unglaublich herzlich und der Transport war sehr schnell! Als wir abreisten, bemerkte der Fahrer des Shuttleservices, dass wir viel Gepäck und Kinder hatten. Als er erfuhr, dass wir außerhalb des Parkplatzes ein Taxi nehmen wollten, fuhr er uns eigeninitiativ bis zum Parkplatzausgang. Das Hotel stellte außerdem kostenlose Getränke und Snacks sowie nützliche Artikel wie Mückenspray und Ohrstöpsel zur Verfügung. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und entsprach einem Fünf-Sterne-Standard. Vom Restaurant aus konnte man sogar Wasservögel, Enten und kleine Pandas beobachten. Während des gesamten Aufenthalts spürte man die Freude und den aufmerksamen, detaillierten Service! Ein unvergessliches und wunderbares Erlebnis! Ich hoffe, wir haben die Möglichkeit, wiederzukommen!

All the reviews are true, but it’s not the wooden building that causes it.  Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.  Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.  The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.  The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this. Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.  Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.  We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.  Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.  For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby.
