AAstrxdThe environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view whwre you can see some of the sea of clouds. They give you disposable coverings for you to put on top of the fresh pillow bedding and mattress for extra hygiene which is a nice touch I haven't seen before. Bathroom is very clean, though there are only two toilets and two showers and two sinks, so do note that for busy season, but it wasn't an issue at all during my stay. They provided breakfast too, fresh milk the boss heated for me when I got up, and red sugar glutinous rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (babas), and it was fun to get ready for the day with new friends on the balcony overlooking the village. I think the environment is very good for meeting new friends and other solo travelers- I arrived at the hostel randomly at the same time as three other girls, and we explored Manghong togetjer on the boss's recommendations for itinerary and sightseeing. And the next day the boss dropped us off at a tea roasting experience, and just as we were heading to Nuogan another girl from the hostel finished her tea roasting session, so we all went to Nuogan togetjer to play. The boss even helped load my luggage onto the shuttle bus so that it could pick me up at a sightseeing spot further down the mountain!

YYoubaomeiDas Zimmer ist groß und sauber, die Doppelbetten sind weich und hart und schlafen in der Mitte und der Terrasse ist eine hervorragende Sicht auf den Ort. Am Abend ist der kleine Wind und die kleinen Blumenblumen mit dem Abend, die Einrichtungen sind komplett, die Hygiene ist vorhanden und die Reise-Wohnungserfahrung über die Erwartungen hinaus.

MMichele GramAmazing stay! The house is located just outside the village on a quiet road. The rooms are super clean, well equipped, and have air conditioning, which is important in winter.
But beyond the house itself, the real highlight is the owner. We shared several tea-drinking sessions where he explained the secrets of Pu’er tea and Bulang traditions and history. Despite the language barrier (we don’t speak Chinese and he doesn’t speak English), he made a huge effort using translator apps, and communication was easy and fun. He is incredibly knowledgeable and kind, we highly recommend spending time drinking tea with him. He also created a WeChat mini-app with guides and information about the area, which we used a lot and found very helpful.
Our stay was unforgettable: the Jingmai mountains were the highlight of our trip to China, and we went home with some amazing Pu’er tea and great memories.
Looking forward to coming back!

OOlive GohWhen I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made.
The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car.
When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff.
The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion.
This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time!
One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay.
Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

GGastnutzerUrsprünglich hatte ich nur eine Nacht gebucht, um am nächsten Tag weiter nach Laos zu reisen. Ich blieb aber noch eine zweite Nacht, weil das Zimmer geräumig war und der Blick aus dem Fenster so erholsam.
Was das Zimmer betrifft, gefällt mir der Schreibtisch, an dem ich arbeiten konnte. Und dass Dusche und WC durch einen Paravent getrennt sind.
Am zweiten Tag wurde mein Zimmer frisch gemacht, die Toilettenartikel wurden aufgefüllt und die Handtücher gewechselt. Ich wünschte, die Pension würde ein System einführen, mit dem Gäste angeben können, ob sie dieselben Handtücher benutzen möchten. Ich bin umweltfreundlich, und wenn ich meine Handtücher zu Hause nicht jeden Tag wechsle, sehe ich auch keine Notwendigkeit, das zu tun, wenn ich unterwegs bin.
Außerdem gefällt mir die Lage, da ich bequem mit der Buslinie 3 zu einem nahegelegenen Einkaufszentrum fahren konnte (ich habe dort bei KFC gefrühstückt) und dann die Straße überqueren konnte, um mit der Buslinie 8 zum Meizi Lake Park zu fahren. Ich habe dort etwa drei Stunden verbracht und dabei auch Kaffee und Kuchen im Café am Parkeingang genossen. (Mein größter Kritikpunkt war, dass ich in Pu'er nicht einmal eine Tasse Pu'er-Tee trinken konnte :))
Danach fuhr ich mit der Buslinie 8 zurück, um in die Buslinie 3 umzusteigen und die antike Teepferdchenstadt zu besuchen. Anschließend fuhr ich mit der Buslinie 3 zum Einkaufszentrum, aß zu Abend und kaufte bei Walmart ein, bevor ich mit der Buslinie 3 zurück zur Pension fuhr.
Direkt gegenüber der Pension befindet sich eine Laufstrecke. Vergesst es, die Strecke komplett zu laufen. Sobald ihr rechts einen Hang seht, geht hinauf. Ihr habt einen schönen Aussichtspunkt und dort gibt es ein nettes Café. Bei gutem Wetter könnt ihr sogar den Sonnenaufgang erleben! Ich war morgens dort, das Café war geschlossen, deshalb habe ich es nicht besucht. Hätte ich von diesem Café gewusst, wäre ich gleich am ersten Tag hingegangen. Vielleicht könnte der Betreiber der Pension eine Karte mit Informationen zu leicht erreichbaren Sehenswürdigkeiten erstellen. Das könnte für Reisende, die unkompliziert reisen, zu längeren Aufenthalten führen.
Pu'er ist eine gut geplante Stadt. Ich mag sie und werde anderen empfehlen, dort Zeit zu verbringen. Übernachten Sie unbedingt in diesem Gästehaus. Die umliegenden Teeplantagen werden Ihnen neue Kraft geben!

GGastnutzerDie Einzeltür ist von der Wolke in der Wange entfernt. Sie können die Sonnenuntergang-Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Hause beobachten. Die Hintertür ist für 15 Minuten sehr bequem, um den Sonnenaufgang zu sehen. Sie müssen nicht zu Menschen gehen. Die Einrichtungen gehören zu den Volksgruppen von Shang-Misha. Es sollte alles sein, sauber, zumindest schon vor dem Ankunftsdatum gehört, dass Sie hier gut vorbereitet sind, um sich auf Insekten zu vorbereiten, aber zwei Tage lang wohnen in diesem Haus, um die Tür zu verschließen, so dass Sie in dem Zimmer keine Insekten haben können. Das Frühstück ist Selbsthilfe, die Art ist sehr gut auf dem Berg. Mit Ihrem eigenen Restaurant können Sie essen, der Geschmack ist gut ～

Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.
Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.
The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.
The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this.
Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.
Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.
We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.
Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.
For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby.

GGastnutzerDas Zimmer war sehr sauber, und die Leute von Bulang waren überaus freundlich und gastfreundlich. Sie haben sogar Krabbenbeine für uns ausgesucht. Am wichtigsten war aber, dass ihr Essen einfach köstlich war! Ich kann den Krabbenbeineintopf mit Freilandhuhn wärmstens empfehlen – unbedingt einen Tag vorher bestellen! Probieren Sie auch das gebratene Schweinefleisch, das gebratene Schweinefleisch mit Kohl und das gebratene Rindfleisch mit Minze – alles war unglaublich lecker!

Zunächst ist die Lage sehr gut, die Zhangjiang-Schule, die nach Xingmehan zu sehen ist, ist nebenan und die beste Stelle, die das Meer von Zheng zu sehen, ist auch sehr nahe. Der Zheng-Baum ist 1000 Meter nahe. Zweiter Innenausstattung ist sauber und klar. Drittens ist die Außenaussicht sehr gut und offen. Schließlich enthalten die sehr unerwarteten Zimmergebühren auch Abendessen, ein Feuer-Dinner, eine nationale kleine Band, die Atmosphäre glücklich. Nach dem Essen wurde das Wissen über die Würmer neu. Sehr gut.
