The room was clean and tidy, breakfast was good and catered for gluten free, evening meals very well cooked and go value for money. Happy and helpful staff.

Lovely place to stay which I thoroughly recommend. Comfortable, friendly and a great location. Been for drinks in the pub before and decided it was time to have a weekend away there and it didn’t disappoint. Great food, nice beer and very welcoming.

Excellent room, comfy beds and a nicely decorated room. The food and service was, as always, very good. The location is well suited to exploring the Forest of Dean, both walking and birdwatching. In the bar there are numerous photographs and objects showing the history of the inn and the village of Parkend. Well worth a stay in my opinion. Plenty of parking by the way.

Whilst visiting family in the Forest of Dean we booked a couple of nights at the Fountain. We've stayed here before and it never disappoints! The owners and staff are super friendly and extremely welcoming. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Add in the great food, relaxing bar area, with a lovely selection of local ales, and you've got the perfect place to stay! We look forward to visiting again in the near future.

A really great place to stay, excellent value for money with wonderful staff. We stayed for three nights and would have stayed longer. Evening meals where of a very high standard and excellent value, as stated. Good free parking with local walks Will return.

I have stayed at the Fountain before so knew what to expect: A friendly welcome, good food and a comfortable room. I was not disappointed. My twin room was warm and comfortable. The bar was quiet during midweek in January but the food was still excellent and served quickly.

Such a friendly place, the staff were extremely nice and made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and decent size for us and our little doggy. We also had dinner and the food was outstanding, both meals were real tasty home cooked food and good portion sizes. If you're looking for a quick stop or even a few nights away I can thoroughly recommend this little gem!

Great stay, cleanliness was second to none, dined in both evenings and the dinners were excellent.
Good choice of beer and wines at reasonable prices.
Just one small criticism, dining rooms and corridors and bedroom all on the chilly side, although there was an extra heater in our room, which we did have to use.

Lovely, clean and comfortable traditional style room in an historic building Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant and bar with good selection of local ales and cider. Plenty of parking space onsite.
