The staff were very polite, couldn't fault that, but do not except that from everyone. Breakfast time is a painful culture clash where cracking out a smile almost feels forbidden, aswel as being just generally politness. The food was ALWAYS cold, as others have said before, and food and drink is over priced. The pricing structure is probably because the hotel is packaged as a 5 staff hotel and it clearly is not. Cranes operationing in the car park, stinky lift (like turd), limited staff at night to assist their customers. Terrible evening entertainment, the local cats out preform the entertainment. Two weeks before my families flight, we was also notified that the indoor pool was unavailable, disappointing. Sadly, I feel that behind the scenes, there is limited resources during a troubled time, which may affect staffing, hotel maintenance; and which also may be why the hotel charges more for their massage services (look nearer the mallfood), food, drink, and a simple keyring from their shop, compared to other local services. The hotel needs a massive update: painting, making good crummy walls, and improving the overall quality. All is not bad... The best thing about the hotel is where it us situated. Lidl is across the road for a cheaper and a better taste, or there are many cheaper and better quality restaurants to use. It has a nice walk to the old town or harbour area, and should children or the elderly feel tired, there is a pretty decent bus (615) service. If a hotel is just a place to sleep, and you don't mind the odd smell of poo, then the Venus Beach Hotel will sure take your money!

Vorbemerkung: Eigentlich hatten wir ein anderes Hotel für zwei Wochen im November gebucht, mussten dieses dann aber „corona-bedingt“ nach nur einer Woche wieder verlassen und in das „Annabelle“ umziehen. Im direkten Vergleich beider Hotels schnitt das Annabelle dann schlechter ab. Wir hatten ein schönes Zimmer mit großer Terrasse, leider aber zum Nachbarn nur mit einem Geländer abgetrennt. Toller Blick auf Paphos und das Kastell. Bis zum Hafen von Paphos sind es etwa 10 Gehminuten. Das Annabelle liegt damit deutlich zentraler als alle anderen Hotels auf der Hotelmeile Poseidonos Avenue. Ein Pluspunkt. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt: Sehr weiträumige Gartenanlage mit insgesamt drei Pools. Das war es dann aber auch mit den Pluspunkten. Das Hotel ist ersichtlich immer wieder um Anbauten erweitert worden. Das macht Wege lang und umständlich. Definitiv ist das Hotel für Gäste, die in ihrer Mobilität eingeschränkt sind, nicht geeignet. Wir hatten uns das Annabelle nicht ausgesucht, sondern waren „corona-bedingt“ dort untergebracht. Was uns aber überhaupt nicht gefallen hat, war, dass wir vom ersten Tag an das Gefühl hatten, dass das Hotel unmittelbar vor der Schließung steht (was dann auch am Tage unserer Abreise geschah) und es nur noch darum geht, die Gäste „abzuwickeln“. Das kann man auch anders angehen. Die Restaurants waren geschlossen. Halbpension wurde dann als Menu im öffentlich zugänglichen „Mediterraneo“ angeboten. Das war etwas einseitig und ehrlich gesagt dem Anspruch eines als Luxus bezeichneten Hotels nicht angemessen. Es gelang uns auch in sieben Tagen nicht, die Service Mitarbeiter dazu zu bewegen, den ersten und zweiten Gang nicht immer gleichzeitig zu bringen. Essen geschmacklich im Übrigen gut. Wasserflaschen in 1 Liter Größe sowie Cola Light waren an den letzten beiden Tagen nicht mehr verfügbar (das sind doch haltbare Getränke und hätte auch nachbestellt werden können). Liegestühle wurden ebenfalls auf das absolute Minimum reduziert. Wie gesagt: wir hatten immer das Gefühl, dass nur der Zeitpunkt abgewartet wird, bis die Gäste weg sind und (nun endlich) geschlossen werden kann. Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, vielleicht etwas zu kumpelhaft, aber das ist Geschmackssache.

Die Erfahrung in diesem Hostel war schrecklich. Ich war schmutzig, es ist sehr unsicher, weil man in der Nacht mit Leuten feiern kann, die sowohl von Hostels als auch Gästen von Kunden trinken. Sie waren bis 3 oder 4 Uhr morgens auf einer Party, ohne die Leute zu schlafen, es gab niemand, der sich über Nacht anklagen konnte. Natürlich haben wir uns morgens aufgestellt und waren alle voll von Festresten, Getränken, schmutzigen Getränken... Wir klagen gegen die Hostel-Adresse, die uns bis heute geschwürt hat, Sie sagte uns, dass sie uns das Geld für die beiden Nächte zurückgeben würde, die wir dort verbrachten, und wir haben von ihr keine Antwort erhalten und keine Entschädigung erhalten. Ich empfehle es nicht für irgendetwas.

Wir bleiben in diesem kleinen freundlichen Apartments-Komplex, wenn wir Familienangehörige in Zypern besuchen. Ankunft spät in der Nacht dieses Mal stellt der Nachttisch uns den Bodenboden, der auf Anfrage am Morgen Andrea der Besitzer in ein oberes Zimmer ohne Probleme verschoben. Die Wohnungen sind recht grundlegende, aber sauber und haben alles, was Sie brauchen, um sich selbst zu kümmern. Es hat einen schönen Pool und Empfangsbereich, aber das Beste von allen ist in einem sehr schönen ruhigen Wohnbereich am Rande der Stadt und ist nur 5 Gehminuten von Lidl (selbst catering!) Wir lieben wirklich die entspannende Vibe dieses Ortes. Andrea und ihr Personal sind alle sehr willkommen. Der Busservice in Paphos ist sauber und sehr regelmäßig. Sie können ihn auf der Hauptstraße wahrscheinlich 15 Minuten bis zur Stadt und 25 bis zum Coral Bay in die entgegengesetzte Richtung fangen. Es ist kein 5* Hotel....es ist nicht so, als wäre es ein. Aber wenn Sie einen schönen Ort wollen, um nur in der Sonne für eine Woche zu kühlen, dann denken wir, es ist ein gutes Geldwert. Wir gehen nach Jet2 und sie haben diesen Komplex seit einigen Jahren genutzt, so dass sie sich darauf verlassen müssen, was er anbieten muss.

Firstly, it's important to note that there is no actual kosher hotel called Blue Lagoon. Rather, ”Blue Lagoon” is a service established within a non-kosher hotel called Capital Coast Resort & Spa. The kosher meals are served in a dedicated dining room, and there is a nearby coffee/tea corner and shul/synagogue (these are all on the basement level). The kitchenettes and utensils in the rooms themselves are not kosher, and all other hotel services (pool, spa, beach, etc.) are shared with the rest of the hotel. The kosher food itself was very good and plentiful, with plenty of variety (we were there for four weekdays and had breakfast and dinner there daily). We were able to make sandwiches (and take vegetables for snacks) each day at breakfast to take with us on our daytrips (tip: bring containers or baggies if you want to do this, none are provided). We did not go hungry during our trip. We were fortunate to have a large suite, which included a full-sized kitchen, full-sized heavy-wood dining room table, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The best part was the porch that faced the sea -- as our corner suite was at the very end of the hallway, we were situated very near to the sea, with perfect views of the sunset and no noise from the pool area (which was out of sight, around the corner). Try to get this suite (#120-1) if you can. The hotel’s beach is not exactly at the hotel – you have to walk a few minutes down the coast on an unfinished rocky dirt path to the beach area, which is also used by the neighboring hotel. We didn’t use the hotel’s pools, but we did use the spa’s jacuzzi and sauna, which were both fine. The downsides were that the building itself and rooms are not in great shape. Google shows this as a 4-star hotel, I would put it at 3 stars. Loose/missing fixtures, peeling paint, stuck window locks, burned-out lightbulbs, and a very dark shower are some details I can mention specifically. As a family-oriented kosher service there were lots of families with children, along with lots of noise/screaming (80% of the guests when we were there are Israeli). The hotel service was relatively okay, but be prepared for the relatively rude Cyprus treatment everywhere you go in the country. The kashrut mashgiach, Levi, was a pleasant and friendly young Israeli man who was helpful during our couple of interactions with him. The bottom line: If you want two solid kosher meals per day and don’t mind spending your vacation in a 3-star hotel full of loud kids, then the Blue Lagoon is a fine choice.

Interessante und schöne Lage direkt am Meer. Ein schöner Spaziergang von rund 45 Minuten bis zum Hafen von Paphos. Das Hotel ist solide, das Essen ist gut bis sehr gut. Die Zimmer sind schön groß. Allerdings sind viele Kleinigkeiten im Haus nicht mehr in Schuss. Das ist nicht wirklich schlimm, aber es entsteht der Eindruck, dass alles etwas lieblos ist. Allerdings sind die Leute vom Personal sehr nett und freundlich. Wir waren über Sylvester dort. Die ”Party” - wenn man es so nennen kann - war mau und in der Hotelbar spielte eine 1-Mann-Band Musik, die kaum zum Tanzen animierte. Das war enttäuschend. In Summe ein faires Hotel. Preis-Leistung sind noch ok. Wer in Paphos etwas mehr will, muss auch ein wenig mehr Geld ausgeben.

We have just returned from a great holiday at the Mayfair Hotel, Paphos 4th - 11th November 2023. There are 2 parts to the hotel, the Hotel and Gardens, both are located together in nice well kept grounds and with 3 outdoor and 1 indoor (heated) pool with plenty of sunbeds. We stayed in the Mayfair Hotel and room was spotlessly clean with Tea / Coffee facilities and a fridge which was ideal. Food was excellent with a great choice for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and there was also a dedicated section for Vegan and Vegetarian choices as well as the excellent selection of salads from the salad bar, there is a lovely outdoor dining terrace and staff are very attentive. The bar staff were friendly and with a great selection of drinks included within the All Inclusive Package and is worth the difference. There was a varied evening entertainment programme with some great live singers performing and the entertainment team had a programme of activities throughout the day. The spa was relaxing and well priced. Already looking at returning next November as weather was excellent and this is a great hotel choice, yes it is in a residential area but its only a 15 minute walk to the waterfront / harbour area and would definitely recommend.

Ich hatte jedoch große Probleme mit dem WLAN-Signal in meinem Zimmer Nummer 411, die mich zwangen, aus meinem Zimmer zu treten, um eine gute Verbindung zu bekommen spät in der Nacht ankamen) und der auch versprach, dies mit einem Telekom-Spezialisten weiter zu untersuchen. Zukünftige Bewertungen von anderen Gästen werden bestätigen, ob dieses Problem behoben wurde.
