Korakia is a wonderful place with unique character. At the end of the day, I enjoyed my stay there but I wish reviewers would have given a heads up on a few things before I spent that much money. The good: - The staff is wonderful and thoughtful - The grounds are lovely - The included breakfast and little treats were quite good - The room was beautifully furnished and charming - The record player and complimentary records created such a beautiful ambience The not so good: - I stayed in a two story building on the ground floor (tangier studio). The amount of noise between floors was incredibly disruptive and I didn’t get much sleep. They should really tell upstairs folks to be aware of that/tone down the stomping. - The bed wasn’t comfortable. It was also advertised as a queen, but seemed to be a full size. - The windows and doors are beautiful and original, but let in so much cold air and noise from the outside. Some additional weather stripping, particularly in the bathroom, would have been nice. - The shower temperature was very finicky and hard to get it right between scalding and freezing. I truly hate being a Karen about this stuff, but when we’re paying that price, I really hope for some basic comfort needs to be delivered. All that being said, I did enjoy my stay and all the buildings and staff were so lovely. I would go back because it’s such a wonderfully unique place, but I just know now to be very careful about the room I book in the future.
