Eagle Resort wurde komplett renoviert. Die Zimmer sind sehr hübsch, mit einer Terrasse. Die Küche war voll ausgestattet, um zu kochen. Die Betten waren großartig, das Bad war wunderschön. Die Gründe wurden sorgfältig gepflegt. Keine Bugs. 2 Pools 1 hatten eine Wasserrutsche. Happy Hour jeden Tag. Das Personal war fantastisch Ryan, Rolan und unsere großartige Hausputzfrau Maritza waren so wundersam, dass ich nicht sagen kann, wie großartig sie war. LIEBE diesen Ort wird nächstes Jahr zurück sein. Auch es ist nicht direkt am Strand, aber alles, was Sie tun, ist aus der Tür und durch die Lobby von La Cabana und Sie sind direkt am Eagle Beach super! ! !

Zimmer: Die Zimmer wurden alle 12/2019 renoviert und befinden sich in einem entsprechend modernen und guten Zustand. Der Einrichtungsstil ist mediterran-modern. Das Bett ist im Kingsizeformat mit bequemer Matratze. Die Bettwäsche und Handtücher schienen sehr neu zu sein. Die Dusche ist angenehm groß (Regendusche + regulärer mobiler Duschkopf) und mit Pflegeprodukten ausgestattet (Shampoo, Conditioner, Duschgel). Ferner gibt es zwei Waschbecken und eine große Ablegefläche. Die Toilette ist durch eine Milchglastür vom restlichen Zimmer getrennt. Die Klimaanlage ist recht laut. Die Zimmer waren nicht hellhörig. Es gibt einen kleinen Balkon mit zwei Stühlen und einem Tisch. Der Reinigungsservice kam täglich gegen 15 Uhr und hat sehr gründlich gearbeitet (auch gewischt). Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und wurde sauber gehalten. Ein Tresor ist vorhanden, ebenso ein Kühlschrank und eine Mikrowelle. Steckdosen sind zahlreich vorhanden. Lage: Das Hotel liegt am Beginn der High Rise Area von Aruba (mit dem Taxi vom Flughafen zum Hotel kostet 31$) hinter dem Riu Palace in zweiter Reihe zum Palm Beach. Zu Fuß dauert es ca. 10 min zum Strandabschnitt von Palm Beach, an dem das Hotel kostenlose Liegen anbietet (3 feststehende Sonnenschirme und 1 Strandhütte sind ebenfalls da; alle Strände in Aruba sind öffentlich), von denen genügend vorhanden waren. Die Servicekräfte am Strand waren stets zuvorkommend. Ein Restaurant befindet sich auf dem Hotelgelände, viele weitere ca. 5-10 min zu Fuß entfernt. Eine Bushaltestelle ist direkt gegenüber des Hotels. Das Hotel liegt wie in anderen Bewertungen beschrieben in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Disco The Mill. Samstags und Sonntags Abends drang leise Musik ins Zimmer, die von der Klimaanlage übertönt wird (bei weitem nicht so störend wie in anderen Bewertungen beschrieben, wir hatten extra Oropax eingepackt, brauchten diese jedoch absolut nicht; wochentags war keine Musik zu hören). Sonstiges: Es gibt eine schöne, neue Poollandschaft mit Sonnenliegeb und -schirmen (diese werden von den Hotelgästen morgen vor 7 Uhr reserviert, indem sie dort ihr Handtuch ablegen). Strandtücher können am Pool kostenlos ausgeliehen werden. Parken ist kostenlos auf dem hoteleigenen Parkplatz möglich. Das WiFi ist sehr schnell und funktioniert auf dem Gelände super. Rauchen ist nicht gestattet. Die Angestellten am Pool und am Strand waren sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich; die Angestellten an der Rezeption waren neutral und eher reserviert. Auf Nachfrage war es möglich, am Abreisetag nach dem Check-Out ein Zimmer zum Duschen zu erhalten. Ein kleiner Kiosk befindet sich gegenüber der Rezeption. Der Großteil war amerikanischer Herkunft. Fazit: Das Courtyard Aruba Resort (ehemals the Mill Resort & Suites Aruba) ist frisch renoviert und ist damit ideal für Urlauber, die ein modernes, sauberes Zimmer unweit vom Palm Beach möchten. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmte zu unserem Buchungszeitpunkt (ca. 100€/Nacht/Zimmer).

Für mich ist das Renaissance definitiv ein First-Class-Hotel und ein „Ausgezeichnet“ wert, ob es auch im Preis-Leistungsverhältnis gerechtfertigt ist, kann ich aufgrund fehlender Vergleiche in dieser Klasse nicht sagen. Absolutes Highlight ist natürlich die Flamingoinsel (was für uns auch der Hauptgrund der Buchung war). Aber auch der Strand-/Poolbereich im Ocean Suites war top, immer ausreichend Platz, Liegen und Schatten da. Ausserdem ist das gesamte Servicepersonal ohne Ausnahme immer fröhlich, nett und hilfsbereit gewesen - selbst gemessen am ohnehin schon hohen Service-Level in Aruba. Unter anderem konnten wir problemlos das Zimmer wechseln, weil das erste direkt am Pool und damit zu laut war. Und insbesondere möchten wir uns bei Paolo und Vladimir vom Fresco und Meluzka vom Valentins-Dinner auf der Insel für die herzliche Bedienung bedanken. Die Zimmer (im Marina Tower) waren uns zu „Businesshotel-typisch“, aber qualitativ hochwertig, die Betten sehr gut. Allerdings sind die Zimmer immer zu kalt, selbst bei ausgeschalteter Klimaanlage scheint die Belüftungsanlage extrem runterzukühlen. Zwei Flops waren leider auch dabei: Unsere Visa-Kreditkarten haben im Hotel nicht funktioniert, obwohl wir 3 Karten von zwei verschiedenen Banken ausprobiert haben, die alle genug Deckung aufwiesen und bis dato in Aruba in jedem kleinen Shop, Tankstelle, Supermarkt, Geldautomaten etc. funktioniert haben. Das war absolut nervig und sollte vom Hotel dringend behoben werden! Kurz vor der Abreise bedeutet so etwas echt Stress. Und diese Unsitte, dass man jeden Morgen ein Rechnung über 25 Dollar pro Person fürs Frühstück unterschreiben muss, obwohl das Frühstück inklusive ist, hinterlässt einen komischen Beigeschmack. Mal abgesehen, davon, dass immer etwas Unsicherheit mitschwingt, ob wirklich nichts davon später auf der Endrechnung auftaucht, ist es nur eine Masche weiteres Trinkgeld zu bekommen. Insgesamt hatten wir nichtsdestotrotz wirklich schöne 6 Tage dort.
