We had a lovely family stay in spite of the hotel. The hotel is very mediocre and certainly not what can be described as a luxury experience. So as long as your expectations are set to basic accommodation, you fine. - Rooms are very dated - Family room is laughably small - Asked for a paid upgrade to a suite and was told that they refuse to accommodate a child in a suite . This is a poor excuse as a sleeper couch could easily have been inserted. - Aircon did not work well - Bathroom taps were loose - Water from taps was brown - Sleeper couch was hard as a rock - No turn down service - Shower door was filty - Tv was hung skew - Outdoor cushions were soiled - Bath was filled with hair - Room has no ceiling lights in the bedroom/living area - No fridge - Curtain lining torn - Paving outside room uneven which is a problem for a family room - TV remote missing batter cover - No wine glasses in room - Limited attention from the waiters at break breast - Furniture was chipped - Room service menu is limited and delivery is so so (no napkins etc) - Pool is not heated, why? - Lamp fittings are skew - No welcome drink etc ... and so the list could go on ... So we really had lots of fun with our son and it was a lovely break. But goodness, the hotel ... We tried to book for the palace but they are restricting the number of rooms available, not sure why. Palace is a better, albeit old, hotel which itself need a refresh. On the plus side, there is lots of fun to be had in the resort and nearby facilities. Cascades itself is in a good position in the resort and the surrounding forest is lovely.
