Just for context - I was not a guest. I was a musician at a wedding last night. One thing I have never done is leave a review on a venue I play at because why would I? But today I'm compelled to. STUNNING venue. The staff are AMAZING (Thanks Julie). It's very rare that we (the band) have ever felt to accommodated and looked after by the staff. We were shown where to set up, given space to change and freshen up, Julie and her team made sure that it only the guests had a great time and were looked after, but us as the performers were also. Nobody tried to whisper in our ears to announce the buffet was open (which people always do mid-song while we're wearing in-ear monitors), instead a little sign was held up. Small things like that make not only our jobs easier, but a better experience for the guests also because nobody wants to see venue staff wade through a dance floor and pull you to one side in the middle of singing a chorus just to tell you the hog roast is ready. Oh, and hog roasts at weddings are super common and generally very nice. BUT - This hog roast and coleslaw were SOMETHING ELSE. Maybe it was so good because we didn't have that bitter taste in our mouths from being directed to a disabled toilet to change into our suits to perform. As a wedding vendor and artist, I've never been so compelled to tell the world about a venue. Yeah I post on Facebook if I've had a great time, but this was a top-tier wedding experience for us as a band. Thank you so much to Julie and her amazing team. - The Wurlitzers -
