Staying at The Maureen had been the worst experience staying at Kolkata. This stay was booked by me during the last minute. Franky speaking Hotel is very nice and a boutique Hotel at the heart of Baguiati near to Raghunathpore Junction. Aura created at the Hotel ***** with the cleanliness inside the Hotel are at par! However when it comes to service, these guys are really pathetic and mis-behave with the guests. I requested for 2 hours extension because I was waiting for my air ticket confirmation on which they behaved really bad and stated that their check-out time is 11 am and they already allowed me for an hour to stay till 12 pm. Check-out time mentioned on the desk was 12 pm and I got a call at 11:45 to vacate the room immediately since they have guests waiting at the reception and the bookings are full so they can't accommodate me even for further 5 minutes. Unfortunately I had to check-out sharp @ 11:59 am since they sent their person to lift my luggage as it is. I had to pack my bags improperly due to their behavior. I left luggage at their cloak room and left from the hotel during the sunny summer. I got to know @ 1 pm that my return tickets are available only on next day so I had to re-checkin at the same Hotel and again had to submit all my papers for re-checkin for which they took 1+ hours and to my surprise I got the same room which as per them was already booked for the day. Thus, if anyone expect some kind of courtesy from the Hotel, they should atleast avoid this during their travel. I have one more incident to share with this property. During my stay they had been running an offer in accordance with a campaign through IDFC First Bank whereby they were supposed to provide 50% discount on their restaurant bills. To my surprise their reception staff was unaware of the offer and unfortunately they refused to provide me with this offer stating I haven't informed them well in advance that I will avail the offer though they had been intimated when the staff came to ask if I need anything and if he can arrange for the Invoice (so do they reduce their offerings if discount is allowed). Guys beware!!!
