Villa Termal Monchique - Hotel Termal

A whole village turned into a hotel, all built around the thermal spa. Good position on the hills overlooking the Algarve coast. Nice staff.

Espaço bastante agradável e bom acolhimento. SPA e piscina ambos maravilhosos. Todo o staff simpático. Apenas o quarto não considerámos o mais cómodo possível.

O hotel é bom. Mas precisa de melhorias. A piscina é pequena pela quantidade de hóspedes. E na parte do Hotel que estávamos não se tinha Wi-Fi nos quartos. Muito mal não ter rede nenhuma e nem Wi-Fi. Os funcionários são bem simpáticos.

One of the best hotels, staff, food entertainment, was just spot on . I will definitely recommend this to friends and family. The staff where polite and friendly, the outdoor pool was a beautiful place to relax.

Having been unable to find our original booking in the mountains somewhere that GPS didn’t cover, we were recommended this place by a café in the town of Monchique. It is a beautifully quiet and calm area, a little confusing as a village, but we got help with directions and we found the Central Hotel which comes under the heading of Villa Termal. We were very warmly welcomed by Anna on reception who thankfully had a room available for us for one night…..the room was beautiful, it had a side-view down the garden to the pool. The village has thermal waters as the title suggests. We went to the “spa” which was far from easy to find and certainly the outside needs a huge amount of sprucing up. We paid the nominal fee to get in where there was use of the pool (original spa waters), and Steam Room. In the evening we had dinner which was housed in a different building. It was a little chaotic and the Maitre D didn’t seem to know what he was at and the younger waiters appeared not be allowed to serve at table but only clear away, in view of the fact that there was a large group to dine this seemed counterproductive. The system was the same at breakfast. After dinner we had the remainder of our bottle of wine which we took back to the main hotel building which was beautifully furnished, but no wine glasses to be had. However, the lady on reception got us two glasses and we sat in the beautiful lounge quietly in order to finish our wine. If there was one suggestion I would make to this hotel is to have a nice piece of old furniture with some red/white wine glasses so that residents can finish their drink off in lovely surrounding and not have to take them to their bedrooms….then it would be perfect. If in the area again I would definitely stay again.

This place is located in a beautiful setting of older buildings. However the service and rooms aren’t good. The food is very average. Even milk, one of the basic things, wasn’t available at breakfast on the last morning of our stay! Breakfast itself is very poor, with one of the hotel employees serving a tired and limited selection of food to guests from behind a cordon…no friendliness! We were v disappointed

Nous avons fait une réservation pour l'hôtel central, à notre arrivée surprise l'hôtel était fermé, il fallait se diriger vers un autre hôtel où nous avons eu une belle chambre en suite avec une très belle vue, mais en regardant de plus près il y avait de la poussière, l'étagère dans la salle de bain était à moitié décrochée et la barre de douche également. Le petit déjeuner très copieux mais avec des viennoiseries surgelés. Nous avons quand même passés un très bon séjour.

No 'feriado' do carnaval fiquei hospedada 2 dias com o meu marido com o intuito de descansarmos e aproveitarmos o Spa. Ficamos maravilhados...a água da piscina estava com uma temperatura excelente e muito agradável. Nesses 2 dias, fizemos 3 circuitos. Voltamos para casa tão maravilhados que decidimos voltar no fim de semana de 12 / 13 de março. A deceção foi terrível, passo a citar: - água da piscina fria - cheirava a cloro, deixando-nos os olhos vermelhos - tinha sujidade a boiar (parecia pele) - adolescentes a escorregar no corrimão de acesso à piscina - utentes a falar aos berros (o oposto de relaxamento) - ao sair da piscina fazia corrente de ar por estarem as janelas abertas Saímos dali a tremer e agora encontramo-nos no rescaldo do fim de semana que supostamente seria parecido ao de 15 dias atrás....estamos doentes!!!

Primeiro.quarto...cheio de formigas! Segundo quarto, janelas da varanda nao fecham e obvio que com 2 criancas nao podia ficar ali descansada, terceira tentativa de quarto cheio de teias de aranha, cheio de bichos mortos junto ao ar condicionado, quente e sem.ar condicionado a trabalhar... enfim.obvio nao ficamos ali pedimos o reembolso e viemos embora ! Na recepção indicam que a meia pensao é com bebidas chegamos ao.jantar e pedem nos o extra das bebidas. Na piscina,.muito grave, o.meu marido aleijou se com uma.farpa so chao de madeira mal cuidado e na recepção nem uma.caixa de primeiros socorros como deve ser tinham. A não voltar.. A sra da recepção é a unica pessoa disponivel no hotel para tudo! Nao ha empregadas de limpeza , mais ninguem recepcao,nao ha ninguem na manutenção! Nunca visto num.hotel de 4 estrelas Quanto ao jantar.. Enfim.. Deu para enganar o estomago porque esta longe das iguarias que cheguei a comer neste restaurante. Estragaram as férias!
