Die besten Hotels in Monchique, Portugal

Die Anlage liegt direkt oberhalb der relativ stark befahrenen Strasse von der Küste nach Monchique. Die Aufteilung dereinzelnen Blöcke erinnert an einen Kaninchenbau. Block C liegt direkt an der Strasse! Die Doppelverglasung hält den Strassenlärm nicht draussen. Wer also Tal- bzw. Meerblick möchte, sollte einigermassen lärmresistent sein. Ein shuttle zum Strand und/oder Golfplatz wurde nicht angeboten. Leider fehlt auch ein MTB-Verleih, obwohl die Umgebung dafür gut geeignet wäre. Das überwiegend junge Personal ist sehr bemüht und kümmert sich um die Wünsche der Gäste. Absolut störend ist die notwendige und zeitgebundene Reservierung für das Restaurant. Wenn man dort z.B. um 19.30 reservieren soll, kann es sein, dass nur 2-3 Tische besetzt sind. Die nächsten Gäste kommen dann eine Viertelstunde später usw., man kennt dieses „Schichtessen“ auch von Kreuzfahrtschiffen, wo es Kapazitätsgründe hat. Diese lagen bei der für uns geringen Besucherzahl aber nicht vor! Fehlte Personal in der Küche? Die Speisekarte ist überschaubar, jedoch sollte man keine Sonderwünsche haben. Einen Salat aus der Dinnerkarte zum Lunch ordern geht lt. Küchenchef nicht! Das Frühstücksbuffet ist mittlerer Standard und jeden Tag gleich. Frische Eierspeisen waren wegen Corona nicht angesagt, dafür „abgekühlte“ Rühreier und kalte, hartgekochte Eier. Cerialien und Brotauswahl sind ok. Alle Kaffeesorten aus zwei gut funktionierenden Automaten; Teebeutelauswahl ok. Die Zimmer sind ordentlich (z.T. Mit zwei Bädern/WCs). Die Suiten haben eine kitchenette incl. Kühlschrank und Nespressomaschine (mit Kapseln!). Das das W-LAN nur geht wenn der TV eingeschaltet ist erscheint etwas antiquiert - aber man kann auf Kanal 118 drücken und Bild u. Ton verschwinden. Der W-LAN Empfang ist i.O. So ganz hat sich uns nicht erschlossen, warum man so weit weg von den „Touristenpfaden“ in einem Hotel an einer Hauptstrasse evtl. seine schönsten Wochen des Jahres verbringen soll…..aber : wem‘s gefällt!

We were warmly greeted by staff and personnel who are clearly proud of Vilafoia and its surroundings. Very helpful in every aspect: finding/booking restaurants, arranging yoga lessons, tastings, guided (walking) tours, or any of the many other things to do in the surroundings. Henk and Michel did a great job in turning this place into an excellent B&B. The B&B location gives you a beautiful view which can as well be enjoined from the nice swimming pool or jacuzzi. We had room 9 which was very spacious, had a living space/kitchenette and a sleeping space. Bathroom with Rituals products and the kitchen had a large fridge and a Nespresso machine. From our balcony we could enjoy the beautiful view al the way to Portimão. High quality breakfast with fresh (warm) bread from the local bakker, everything you would expect from a decent breakfast and Nespresso coffee. And very important: we enjoyed breakfast everyday out on the terrace with again that magnificant view. During the day it’s possible to order small things from their “ pool menu” (like a toasty, fruit salade, etc) and around the clock you can get drinks, coffee/tea, crisps, nuts, etc from their well-stocked self-service fridge/station. Tip on an off-day: we grabbed a bottle of sparkling wine and enjoyed the experience from the hot jacuzzi! All in all a fantastic B&B experience. Thank you, Henk, Michel and team. The hotel is again great, nice rooms, friendly helpful staff. Maintenance is still lacking a bit, although some progress was made. Due to lack of rain/water the golf course is dry and golf is played on the roots of the grass. Last year october it was green with large dry patches, this year it is just dry except for the greens. Looks like the effect of climate change is increasing and next year October we will not come again under these conditions.

I stayed here for a week the room had a problem with shower toilet headboard and glass partition on balcony none of the above bothered me as I still found the hotel to be basic but alright, however I am gluten free, whilst they had special guests stopping they couldn't cater enough so first three days where brilliant, when the special guests checked out the gluten free bread cakes and quasisnts were no longer an option the gluten free sausages were also not an option, I asked staff which were rude and said if have issue raise with reception, I found it easier to buy my own bread for the rest of the holiday and just have beans from the breakfast buffet, would have definitely recommend to coeliac friends and family however seems they can only cater when they have special guests which is ashame

Das Zimmer war sehr komfortabel, sauber und die Betten waren schön.Air Con funktionierte gut, wenn alle Türen und Fenster ordnungsgemäß geschlossen sind. Das Badezimmer war geräumig und heißes Wasser. Das Frühstück war hervorragend mit vielen Variante 👌 Das Personal war gut, aber nicht über die Begrüßung. Paulo war jedoch hilfreich. Kein Außenpool wie in den Bildern gezeigt, war das für uns ein verlassen, als wir mit dem Pool mit der Sonne schwimmen und entspannen wollten. Indoor sah gut aus, aber nutzte es nicht. Lage war ein 15-minütiges Spaziergang zu Restaurants, aber Uber ist auch verfügbar. Strände waren besetzt und ok. Viele schönere Strände in Europa sehen 🇪🇺 Hallo

While there's no denying that the hotel is dated and some refurbishment would be welcome, all the essential elements were there. We slept well in a firm but comfy bed, WiFi was fast and reliable, Aircon efficient and the old fashioned looking shower was surprisingly fast and hot 👌 We only stayed for one night for a night out in Silves - a great little town with loads to explore and plenty of good restaurants and cafes - and we had a room with a huge terrace with a fabulous view of the town and castle. There is a good sized pool (plus kids pool) in a nice garden area, well sited to get full sun well into the afternoon. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to come again.
