This 5-star hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood in Marseille. The location is a 5-7 minute walk uphill from the touristy port. The good: Hotel is small, very quiet. Requires keycard to access exterior doors and elevator, which is a nice security feature. Service was excellent. Breakfast good with nice variety - this was the only hotel on our 2 week trip that cooked my husband’s “over hard” eggs perfectly every time. The “not quite up to par”: The light in the toilet area was on a very short sensor, and flashed on and off every few seconds while using toilet. We had 3 rooms between family members, everyone commented this was consistent and a bit annoying. Our shower door did not close. We paid for an upgraded room, including . There was additional seating in the room that was not functional (see photo). Our TV never had consistent signal during our stay- we were there during Olympics, and wished to keep up with events. We noted other guests being g offered welcome drinks on check in, which we were not offered. Overall, comfortable stay, good service.

I really loved this hotel. It is perfectly situated in Marseille. I walked to everything. The staff is absolutely lovely. They will bend over backwards for you, making reservations, calling taxis, whatever you need - all with a smile. Breakfast is everything you want it to be in France including a wonderful honeycomb where you can get fresh honey right from the source, salmon, eggs, bread, and even a cake fit for a wedding! Dinner was good and the entertainment was a lot of fun. The room is spacious and modern. I would definitely stay again!

The staff were friendly and very helpful. A woman at the front desk was so kind to call around for a dinner reservation for my daughter and me on a Saturday night. All the staff are nice and has friendly faces. The hotel looks fairly new with a modern design. It does not have a gym. Two things that I would recommend: regular hanger, not the ones that you can’t remove from the rod and hang somewhere else. Need the jacuzzi to be hot. It was warm but not hot. The location was good. The room/hotel is quiet.

When we pulled up to the back of the hotel with our rental car, it didn’t look so great and we thought: “What kind of hotel is this and what kind of neighborhood is this?” The short answer is: It was a wonderful place in a great location. When we walked in the door, the two gentlemen working the front desk, which is tiny, were expecting us and were friendly and immediately created a parking space for our car so we could unload our luggage. We were efficiently checked in and shown our room, which was really cool. It was a large room with a king bed, overstuffed sitting chair, refrigerator with water, coffee maker, double sinks in the bathroom, large, LED-lit shower and, of course, robes and slippers. It was really nice and modern, but not “cold” at all. The only detraction was that the over stuffed purple chair had a stain on the seat cushion. That should have been properly cleaned or replaced. I blame that on housekeeping. I feel like that Is a fraction of a star deduction. The other thing we didn’t like about the room was the carpet. It was that hodge-podge black-brown-gray that you can’t tell if its clean. That is entirely a personal preference. The breakfast was really nice with cook-to-order eggs, premade quiche, yogurt, granola, juice, excellent bread, etc., and more cakes and sweets than should be allowed—so good! One really cool thing that we had never seen before was an actual honeycomb with fresh honey—really good too, if you like honey, which I do! As far as location, it was an easy 10-minute walk to the old port and a slew of restaurants. The walk to the Notre Dame De La Garde was a pretty steep uphill climb and took about 20-minutes or so. We went on a Sunday and were not permitted entry to the church since they were holding mass. Since we were on a tight timeline that day, we couldn’t wait, so we missed it. However, the views from the church are amazing and worth the uphill walk. Other places we were able to walk to from the hotel within a 30-minute stroll were: Mucem, a Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations; Cours Julien to see street-art; and Rue Sait Ferroel, which is the shopping district with boutiques, galleries, bars, and cafés. We felt totally safe in Marseille and really enjoyed the life and energy of the city, and having a wonderful hotel like C2 to return to at the end of the day made it perfect. We would definitely stay at C2 again and highly recommend it.

Stayed here for 2 nights in late July to start our South France trip. Decent location, bit of a walk uphill from the closest subway station. Pro's: 1) Breakfast was outstanding and I loved the ham/egg ommelette they made for me each day. 2) Room was really big by European standards and AC was enough to cool it. 3) Decent bathroom 4) Had valet parking for 1 night at 30 euro. 5) Staff was nice Con's: Can't think of any. I would stay here again if I were every in the city again.

The hotel is a beautiful old building in a great location. The room was clean and well-insulated from any outside noise. Staff were attentive and accommodating. The spa was small but nice. Not sure I’d pay for a day pass but having it included was good. There were a couple of minor let-downs: the television didn’t work at all and the hotel wasn’t able to fix it during our stay, the extractor fan in the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned in a long time and was full of dirt, and the shower didn’t drain fast enough so we had to turn off the water every couple of minutes.
