Unfortunately, our experience with the staff was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.
Throughout our stay, we received very little warmth or courtesy. There was no greeting, no smile, and very little effort to make us feel welcome. At check-in, we encountered a particularly unpleasant member of staff, and at check-out, we were simply directed to a box where we were expected to leave our room key card, with no personal interaction or basic courtesy.
The only members of staff who were consistently pleasant and welcoming were some of the older members of the team. Sadly, our interactions with several of the other staff members were very different.
One incident in particular involved a male member of staff with a bandage on his nose, who was extremely rude to my husband. My husband does not speak English fluently, and there was a simple misunderstanding regarding our luggage, which had been left with the hotel. The situation only required a new luggage tag, yet the way my husband was spoken to was completely unnecessary and disrespectful.
We were spending almost £200 per day at this establishment, and we expected a basic level of courtesy, professionalism and hospitality in return. We understand that misunderstandings can happen, but there is no excuse for making guests feel unwelcome or being disrespectful towards them.
A hotel should make its guests feel valued and respected. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and reminds the staff that good customer service and basic courtesy are essential in the hospitality industry.
