Irinna Hotel

Good value for money and a hotel with a lot of potential if only some money could be spent on repairs. The pool looks lovely, but spoilt by the lack of rungs on all the ladders, making it very hard to get out of the pool. The sunbeds were of hard plastic and were not adjustable, just flat. Our hand basin in the shower room was badly damaged, the shower head had no high support, so could only be hand held. The room door lock was stiff and the maid herself broke the key in the lock. BUT, apart from these niggles , the breakfast was lovely, the cleaner very thorough, with fresh towels daily and reception was lovely, very helpful and cheery. I do hope they can up their game as it is a pity it is run down.

Before I went to the hotel irinna I read a couple of poor comments. I would like to say ignore them we had a great time staff friendly room cleaned every day and towels changed perfect location with some great beaches nearby 5mins from airport so cheap transfers perfect base for exploring the island you pay for what you get if you want a fancy spa hotel then pay £4000 We're going to return next year and finish exploring the rest of the island thank you irinna hotel Richard and inna Southampton. England.

We had a lovely holiday at the Irinna hotel. This included evening meals all beautifully cooked. Lots of slow cooked meats in sauces (pork in lemon and garlic was my favourite). Choices of grilled chicken & fish or a veggie option. And plenty of fresh salad. The pudding was served with watermelon. A combo which was surprisingly good & felt healthy. The pool was clean & well cared for. I particularly liked the trees surrounding one side of it offering natural shade from the hot sun. The restaurant & reception staff were friendly and helpful. They organised a car rental for us which was reasonably priced. Also there is a handy bus stop just outside.

This is very definitely a budget hotel; it is tired and shabby. Our bedroom had been recently painted, but the beds were very hard and just had a sheet & thin pillow. There was a fridge and good air conditioning. The bathroom was in urgent need of upgrade: the taps had no chrome left and there was mould around the bath which had a hand held shower. No plug for the washbasin. Leaking around toilet base. However the room & bathroom had been cleaned & clean towels & sheets were provided during our stay. All the staff were very pleasant, helpful & kind. Problems & requests were sorted quickly. The pool was a good size but again, needed upgrading: mould marks & heavy staining all around the top and the ladders were very wobbly. Breakfast was adequate- plenty of it but very dull. No fresh fruit, very cheap cheese & meat, rock hard boiled eggs. The hotel is very close to the airport. It was quite entertaining watching the planes fly overhead but luckily there are not that many as it’s just an island airport! A good range of restaurants in walking distance. Small beach nearby. I gave this hotel 3 stars because the staff were so nice but it’s not a three star hotel!

Torn, ripped, stained mattresses. Unsanitary conditions, including bathroom smelling of sewage. Water on balcony breeding mosquitoes. Became ill on holiday. Awful, dated hotel, needs total renovation. Booked through Loveholidays as an agent, and they have awful customer service.

Great location ,clean rooms with very good air conditioning.My room was simple but had a wonderful view over the countryside. Breakfast was simple ,continental style and there were plenty of places to sit inside and outside . The stafff were all very friendly ,in particular Niovi Svoronov who works in reception .She couldn’t do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble . The hotel is close to the airport which means it’s a very short transfer but there are planes coming in to land from time to time . It’s a short walk to Ammes beach which is beautiful and there are several good restaurants close by too . You can catch a bus to other beaches and Lassi and also Argostoli ,which is definitely worth a visit . I had a great,relaxing holiday and would definitely like to stay in this hotel again .

I visited again this year Irinna hotel. I choose it for the last eight years and as always it was a wonderful experience and an unforgettable vacation time. The employees are very kind and ready to help the visitors in everything they need. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the gardens are wonderful. The hotel has two outdoor pools both very clean, one of them also very big. Breakfast is great and included in the room price and there is also great dinner service. I will definately come back next year.

Best things: trees by the pool, size of the hotel (huge), close to a lovely beach Ai Helis, was cheap. Everything else: rude man serving outside pool bar and inside bar - stares constantly so prepare for that if you’re a girl/woman in swim stuff. Rooms so unclean I would not stay here again just based on that. You come on holiday to sleep well, relax, and feel energised to explore - you won’t sleep well so won’t feel energised to explore. Mattress smelt so bad of sweat from other guests that I had to sleep on a towel and the clothes so I couldn’t smell it. No protectors on mattress or pillows. The breakfast is also very bad - sugary cheap and processed tinned peaches and mini croissants, sliced fry cake and bread to toast. Juice is entirely concentrated, coffee is from Nescafé plastic tubes. Again - you do not feel refreshed and ready to start the day, rather you had a sugar rush for an hour and then are hungry by 11:00. You will hear guests very loudly from your room - banging doors or them walking / talking in corridors. The area is so overrated, there are nice beaches (2) within 10 minutes but that is it. Nothing else unless you leave the area. No nice walks etc. It’s also like 8 out of 10 people are British, which ruined it for me (I’m British). I thought there would be more Greek culture etc but there isn’t. When you’re in the hotel you may as well be in any hot resort abroad full of brits - Spain etc. My advice: spend £150 more on a nicer hotel in a more cultured and more beautiful area of the island. I did a week in Poros first and I wish I hadn’t moved to Irinna in Svoronata. I would not come back to Irinna and I would not stay in the area again unless I was only passing through in a taxi.

Hotel is situated 3km from the airport and short walk from restaurants and tavernas. Hotel is quite basic but has everything you need, fridge and a/c in the room, continental breakfast included, pool and pool bar where you can have drinks and food as well. Pool area is lovely, always loungers available and you get the sun all day long. As the airport is so close, you’ll get to see the plains so close when they fly directly above the pool which is cool. Now the staff is the gem in this hotel.Everybody are smiling all the time and they are so friendly.Young man(sorry I didn’t catch his name) on breakfast came to have a chat almost every morning which was really nice. Despina in the reception was so friendly and lovely and helpful. They can book tours and excursions for you as well. Argostoli is a bigger village/town which is only under a half an hour bus ride away, worth to visit and the bus leaves just outside the hotel. I found the best restaurant just around the corner, under 5 minute walk away, La Camla.Such a lovely food and staff. I would return to this hotel anytime 😎
