We booked what was described as a "Luxury Double Room" at £200/night. Our room was very small, just enough to walk round the bed. The mattress on the bed has seen better days. The en-suite shower room was OK.
I wouldn't describe this as luxury in any way!
Breakfast was good. The location is peaceful with nice views. The staff were friendly.
Due to the poor value i wouldn't recommend staying here

Lovely very well furnished rooms with excellent beds & powerful shower. Friendly staff & excellent food & cocktails. Exceeded expectations for a pub with rooms & will definitely be back when in the area again.

Went to the Cartford last evening - couldn’t fault it. My mother, a caterer herself, had the duck and said it was the best main course she’d had for many a year. Our son in law had the apricot and cognac tart - it was exceptionally good (I managed to snaffle a mouthful!). Everything else really good including the service. Keep up the great work. Many thanks. Over priced menu not supported by the food which was poor. The service was slow & lacked any personal touch from the staff. 10% gratuity then added to the bill without being asked. Will not be visiting again.

Utter lack of hospitality!!! Arrived with friends - to be told, drinks could only be served to residents - despite the place being empty, including the beer garden. Totally lacking in empathy, warmth or friendliness. Nothing on the website to warn of this. Can't recommend Don't bother

well overpriced luke warm food waitress not interested when we complained neve go again interior scruffy and dirty toilets ordered meat and it was like rubber . the place is sub standard all round

Recommended by a colleague and I was not disappointed. The Cartford is welcoming with plenty of parking and nice outdoor areas overlooking the toll-bridge and adjacent fields. The rooms are high quality, and the sleep quality is good. The bathrooms are excellent and highly appealing. The pub/restaurant is excellent for dinner and breakfast too (I can recommend the vegetarian breakfast). If i was in the area I would certainly stay again.

This is an amazing place to stay, I just wish I could have stayed longer. Excellent customer service, food, accommodation and location. I would give this place 6 stars. Thank you to all the staff. Loved the individual rooms too

The Cartford Inn is nicely located hotel/pub by the River Wyre. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, with nothing left out. Particularly nice coffee provided (one sachet), The restaurant was ok - service was good although not especially friendly, and the quality of the food was on the good side of average, although seemed to lack flavour. Breakfast was much better - a very nice cooked meal and the gentleman on duty was friendly and efficient. One left the hotel just feeling that they could go one step further and make it an experience to remember.
