Nestled in a residential area, its location was incredibly convenient, offering a tranquil retreat just a bike ride away from the city center—less than 10 minutes to be exact. This made for peaceful nights, ensuring a restful sleep in a safe environment.
The hostel is run by a delightful couple whose hospitality knew no bounds. They were not only eager to assist with any issues that arose but also went above and beyond by providing bicycles. This thoughtful touch significantly enhanced my mobility around Houston, allowing me to reach various destinations swiftly.
What set this hostel apart was the attention to detail and the array of complimentary amenities, including cookies, milk, cereal, coffee, and tea. The cleanliness and smart technology throughout the house contributed to a seamless stay, making it the best hostel experience I've ever had. The bathroom towels folded into swan shapes were a testament to the owners' dedication to detail, adding a touch of elegance and care.
The warmth of the place was akin to being at home, with the owners always ready for a chat, eager to answer questions, and share their stories and experiences. A highlight for me was the world map on the living room wall, where guests could pin their home countries—a fun and interactive way to connect with fellow travelers.
In summary, this hostel was more than just a place to stay; it felt like a home, or perhaps more accurately, a homestay. It's undoubtedly the best hostel I've ever stayed in globally, blending the comfort of a home with the adventurous spirit of a hostel.

I recently stayed at the Thompson Houston and overall had a great experience, especially thanks to the excellent service. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. Their attention to detail really made me feel welcomed, and I was touched when they surprised me with a graduation cake — a thoughtful gesture I truly appreciated.
The hotel breakfast was a highlight. The food was fresh and well-prepared, and once again, the service stood out. Dining in the morning felt like a treat thanks to the welcoming atmosphere.
That said, there were a few downsides that affected my stay. The room was quite noisy, even late into the night. It was hard to relax or fall asleep with the amount of outside noise coming through.
Also, I ordered in-room dining on two occasions. On the first day, everything was great. However, the next day the fries were noticeably soggier, the salad was just a bowl of greens with six tiny avocado cubes, and — most concerning — the aioli on the side looked like it had already been used.
Overall, Thompson Houston left a positive impression on me, mostly due to its exceptional staff and quality breakfast. I hope they can improve the soundproofing and ensure consistency in their in-room dining service.

Ccharming_silasThe staff really made the experience above and beyond. We expected a very basic stay, the room and shower/bathroom was extremely clean. The check in/reception was really 100% amazing through and through. They make you feel right at home. Will book here again if needed in the future.

GGastnutzerDie Lage ist ideal, in der Innenstadt von Houston, wenige Blocks vom Konventszentrum und Entdeckungspark entfernt. Das Gebäude ist schön und historischer Art mit einem herrlichen Lobby, komfortablen Stühlen, einer Kaffeemaschine/Latte/Cappuccino und einem schönen Restaurant für Frühstücks- und Abendessen. Ich war auf der 12. Etage im russischen Haus, das sehr schöne Zimmer hatte, die ideal für Einzelpersonen waren. Es gab einen Kaffeemaschine, aber kein Kühlschrank, das ich nicht verpasste. Das Bett war schön und hatte täglich Hausaufbewahrung, schöne Produkte im Badezimmer. Ich hatte einen vier-Nacht-Aufenthalt und liebte alles über den Raum. Ich würde es besonders empfehlen, angesichts der Tatsache, wie viel günstiger es ist als andere Hotels.

PPaul OBCFree Shuttle zum Flughafen war mein Hauptgrund für den Aufenthalt hier. Zimmer war jedoch extrem lustig, da sie Haustiere in den Zimmern bleiben lassen. Ich habe das mit dem Steuerbetreiber aufgehoben und e-mailt, aber haben bis zu einem Monat später keine Antwort erhalten.

GGuest UserDie Einrichtungen sind ein bisschen alt, und jeder tut es jeden Tag! Die Umgebung ist ruhig und sicher! Die Rezeption kann das Wechselgeld ändern, der Induktionsherd, der Kühlschrank, die Mikrowelle ist sehr einfach zu bedienen, ich habe eine Bratpfanne gekauft, gebraten und gebratenes Steak viel gegessen!
