GGastnutzerSanpeiso was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The ryokan beautifully preserves the atmosphere of traditional Japan while offering excellent comfort and hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and took great care of every detail throughout our stay.
The room was spacious, spotless, and overlooked a peaceful garden, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The onsen was exceptional — the hot spring water felt wonderful after a day of sightseeing, and the entire bathing area was quiet and beautifully maintained.
Both dinner and breakfast were served in traditional Japanese style and were outstanding. Every dish was carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and showcased seasonal ingredients. It felt like a true cultural experience rather than simply a meal.
What impressed us most was the authentic character of the ryokan. Unlike many modernized properties, Sanpeiso retains the charm and elegance of a classic Japanese inn. The combination of attentive service, excellent cuisine, serene surroundings, and high-quality hot springs made our stay unforgettable.
If you are looking for an authentic ryokan experience in Atami, I highly recommend Sanpeiso. We would gladly return on our next visit to Japan.

NNaoeyamatoProbably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Japan, close to Atami station, and every room in this hotel has the sea view, which is extremely beautiful when it’s sunny. The rooms are spacious and very very clean, the private onsen has private TV for you to relax in the hot bath. They also have public open air onsen on the top floor. Next time I probably will try the room with private onsen on the balcony. The hotel also offers free gym, free minibar and free lounge, love it. And the most importantly, the hotel staff are very helpful and polite. They provided helpful advices on transportation to different sightseeing places and booked free shuttle for my family to Atami station. Will 100% revisit next time I come to Atami.

GGastnutzerDas Hotel steht auf dem heißen Meer. Zum Gegenteil McDonald's warten auf den Shuttlebus 40 Minuten. Eine Warteschiff kann auf die Geschäftsstraße sprechen. Der berühmte Buddy des heißen Meeres muss in die Schale gesetzt werden. Aber der Geschmack ist nicht schlecht. Wenn Sie zum Palast kommen, können Sie auch nicht in die Reihe kommen, um zu essen, das Palast hat einen offenen Balkon. Fua warme Whirlpool für jeden Whirlpool-Kappeport ist auch sehr gut. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen sind nicht sehr gut. Siehst du, dass die Reihenfolge wirklich nichts zu essen hat, die Spritzung ist nicht zu frisch. Inländisch 49.9 Selbsthilfeniveau

GGuest UserIch habe dieses historische Hotel ausgewählt, um mir das Atami Fireworks Festival anzuschauen🏨. Das Hotel liegt am Rande einer Klippe. Viele Einheimische kommen hierher, um Urlaub zu machen. Vom Zimmer aus kann man den Wellen lauschen und das Meer beobachten. Ich habe mich für die Suite mit Tatami-Matten entschieden. Der Raum ist sehr groß. Das ist nichts Neues Hotel. Die Umgebung ist gepflegt. Die heißen Quellen sind mit dem Hotel im westlichen Stil nebenan verbunden und werden mit diesem geteilt. Das grenzenlose Bad ist etwas Besonderes. Großartig! Das Hotel beinhaltet Frühstück und Abendessen, sodass Sie authentisches japanisches Essen probieren können! Das Feuerwerk startete pünktlich um 20:30 Uhr am 30. September. Es gab viele verschiedene Feuerwerksarten. Es war ein perfekter Ausflug!

GGuest UserWir waren mit 6 Personen dort. Es gibt eine kostenlose Getränkebar in der Lounge, ein großes öffentliches Bad und einen Münzwaschsalon, also war es sehr praktisch! Das Zimmer war sauber und ich konnte auf den Balkon gehen und den Meerblick genießen. Auch die Dachterrasse war schön.

GGuest UserDas Servicepersonal war höflich und hilfsbereit. Es stellte uns bereitwillig eine Thermoskanne zur Verfügung und war jeden Tag freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war einfach, aber ausreichend. Die Lage war sehr praktisch. Restaurants waren gut erreichbar.

GGastnutzerIt was a quaint, cozy hotel situated close to JR Atami Station. The hotel has very good food for both dinner and breakfast! The staff are friendly and even though they can't speak good English, they tried their best to communicate to the best of their knowledge and I really appreciate it! I especially enjoyed my time at the onsen on the rooftop, it has good facilities.
The only thing is the cleanliness of the room, since there is still water in the kettle from the previous guests, I didn't want to drink any water from the kettle because of it. They should replace it with a new kettle or clean it. Otherwise, the room is also very cozy, they give yukatas for guests to wear them around the hotel and they also offer free transport to JR Atami station. Otherwise, I would have struggled to get around since there is lack of public transportation at Atami!
I still have a very good time and enjoyed my time because of the friendly staff at the hotel, they are very helpful! 10/10 will come back again with my friends or family in the future.

GGastnutzerWe stayed one night and really enjoyed the amenities, especially on a rainy day. The private onsen was wonderful, and the communal baths were fantastic. The breakfast and dinner options were excellent and well worth the money. Overall, the property offers a relaxing and comfortable experience.
There is some room for improvement. The television only offered Japanese channels, so adding a smart TV with streaming options would be a nice upgrade for international guests. We were also disappointed by the policy not allowing guests with tattoos to use the communal pools, which may be limiting for some travelers.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay with great amenities, food, and a memorable onsen experience.

SsiufungjehWe had a lovely stay at Hotel Oonoya. One of the perks was the free shuttle bus from Atami Station to the hotel. However, the map provided on the website seems outdated, which caused some initial confusion. Thankfully, the station staff was very helpful and directed us to the correct bus bay.
A highlight of our trip was catching the Atami fireworks from the hotel’s rooftop — the view was absolutely perfect and made for a memorable evening. The indoor hot spring was also a standout feature: it’s spacious, spotlessly clean, and very relaxing after a long day of travel.
Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Just be sure to double-check shuttle bus details upon arrival!
