This place is really lovely and the staff are very friendly and polite. Electrics are a little dodgy as are the fire safety standards. An electrical fire occurred at around 4am in my friend’s room. Neither the smoke alarm or the sprinklers worked. Fortunately my friends woke up and got out of the room. They alerted the hotel staff who ambled down and then tried to put the fire out with an empty fire extinguisher. Eventually, they turned off the electrics and put the fire out with water. Electrics in our adjoining room kept going off after that. Air con and fridge stopped working completely.

Reception staff helpful and gracious. This hotel was booked by my tour operator instead of the one I had asked for, maybe as the other hotel was full. This I can grade as a 3 star hotel, the room was lovely, had a balcony but was warned not to leave the balcony door open when going out due to monkeys. The swimming pool was good but cold, I Did not use it. Only 6 deckchairs and when I asked for some more the *** said they don’t have anymore. I have to say the hotels must have a thing with bathrooms and grouts as even this had the same issue. Cracked tiles and grout mouldy etc. if you didn’t have the fan on then there was a drainy smell in the bathroom. No safe, oldish looking cupboard which we did not use. Bottled water left every day. Still out of the Abad group of hotels we were happy staying here. Would rate this a 3 star hotel.

I loved staying at Abad Hotels in Kerala, and the Green Forest Resort was no exception. Apart from some minor short-lived problems acquainting myself with operating the shower & shutting the balcony door, I really liked this place. It was removed from the bustle of the town, close to all tourist sites & there was a calm & peaceful view across their grounds. The staff were efficient & welcoming & spoke good English, & the buffet food was great. Overall, a relaxing & pleasant experience & I'd definitely stay again.

The hotel is located in the middle of town which is great as it is easily accessible to places of interest. We could walk to the shops for local items. Additionally, the entertaining martial arts perfor***ce as well as the Kathakali & Mohiniyattam dances are across the road from the hotel. The hotel itself is sprawling with greenery and the pool is inviting. It is a relatively older property but the staff here are friendly and warm. Nothing was too difficult for them. The hotel threw a rocking party for Christmas which everyone of the guests enjoyed. I would like to commend Ms Soly Varghese who constantly sought us out to ensure we were well taken care of especially since my sister was in a moon boot and needed help at times. Thank you Soly for a memorable stay in Kumily.

we booked for ac rooms still they gave us non ac rooms without informing they didn't even gave an explanation they didn't even gave us back refund, average hotel, basic rooms, service is very slow, rooms were neither clean nor dirty, staff are untrained, unprofessional, inept & incompetent, bed sheets were a little bit stained Absolutely Disgusting & Awful service poor hospitality

Rooms are a good size but very basic. Distinct lack of electric sockets, no aircon just a ceiling fan. No personal safes either. TV is very small too. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is buffet style and limited choice. The hotel is conveniently situated to the centre of town, and an easy walk to the shops etc. No bar license hence no bar (alcohol). Tip: Rooms are not automatically installed with a fridge, so if you need or want one ask as soon as you check in. Tip: If you require your room service/cleaning then hang the door card which can be found inside the wardrobe on the outside door handle.

We stayed in Abad Green forest for 2 nights & booked 2 rooms from 28 - 30 Nov. Firstly , we were welcomed with a Welcome Drink that was really refreshing. We liked it so much as we had been travelling for more than 3 hours. Our rooms were already ready and the checkIn formalities were done so quickly by Mr Subra***iam . Mr Jitin showed us our rooms and answered all our queries & concerns with patience . The hotel has wheel chair facilities which was a relief as my mom was facing some knee issue. The rooms are really comfortable, clean and the view from the balcony is beautiful and serene . The hotel also houses a store with Kashmiri / kerala clothes etc . The two guys there are really friendly and their prices were reasonable. For the Restaurant, we asked Mr Sebastian his recommendations upon which we enjoyed really delicious Dal Makhni & Dal Tadka , Kerala Parantha etc .Their Fish Pollichathu is so delicious that we ordered it each time we had lunch & dinner . The breakfast buffet was also amazing with delicacies such as uttapam , idli , wada , sambhar , fresh fruits ( do try them , they taste so good as they are grown locally) . The food was fresh and tasty and made in kerala style. Their tea / coffee / hot chocolate are also quite good. Mr Sebastian was also very friendly and always made sure that we were taken care of. For the next day , Mr Ajith , Subra***ium and Ms Soly made our travel so smooth by arranging our sightseeing for the day . They helped us with the tickets for Kathakali - Kalari show. Ms Soly proactively assisted us with the passes for Elephant ride as well. The cost of the tickets were nominal and did not included any hotel commission which some drivers or guides charge. We can’t be grateful enough for all of them for arranging everything for us and making our trip so memorable. The hotel front desk staff and the watch*** assisted us getting couple of Auto ( Tuk-tuk ) to visit nearby Spice garden and also helped us arranging cabs for our next destination to Munnar . We will definitely be visiting Abad green forest , not just because of the hotel facilities & amazing food but also because of their humble, supportive & caring staff. Especially Ms Soly , Mr Subra***ium , Mr Ajit , Mr Jitin and Mr Sebastian .

This was the second time staying in Abad Thekkady as the kids preferred to stay there again. The swimming pool, surrounded greenery, calm and quite atmosphere are the main attractions. The place is in the heart of Kumily town but you are away from all crowd and noise. The resort is ideal for families as there is no security issue and completely safe. The staff are courteous and well behaved. I would like to visit again.
