Stayed here for two nights before going on safari. It was a nice room, however, attached to this property is the Executive suites and for the same cost you can get a bigger room and an in room washer and dryer so check availability. We got an amazing welcome by the front desk staff before they even knew that we were platinum elite members. Everyone was really professional and helpful. Let’s talk M Club. Had so much potential but couldn’t get it together. They were never ready to open. The coffee machine would not be ready first thing in the morning, the cream was never filled up, stirrers not available. COME ON! What do most people want at 6:30AM? Coffee! No silver ware or cups on tables on time. There were nice choices for breakfast but food didn’t get put out on time, ever. For those of us who want to get out early to see the city, it was frustrating. The wine in the evening was delicious with lots of options. Also, very substantial food choices in the evening. I would stay here again, for sure, but the property needs to up its game in the lounge and it would be so easy to correct these few things!

The hotel has spacious rooms, a rooftop pool, and a bar. They have various dining options, including their signature restaurant (Aduna Bistro). The location of APM allows you to start your exploration of JoBerg easily. Staff: 5/5 The African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel (APM) staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Welcome drinks, smiles, professionalism, and a great source for local information. All staff members were amazing. Special acknowledgments to Pretty and Mr. D!!! Also, a special shout-out to the lady who delivered the birthday gift to our room. Sorry, we never exchanged names! You know who you are! 😊 Staff makes your hotel; somehow, The African Pride got it right with their entire team. Hotel Room: 4/5 The rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. They have all the amenities you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and spacious. The Pride, though kept well, was slightly dated. There should be some type of assessment of each room so that they are able to keep its mystique intact (it’s time to get rid of every DVD player in your hotel… It's ok, no one will notice) Hotel Grounds: 5/5 It’s situated in Melrose, so the hotel grounds are also part of the Melrose in a way though they do have a pool area, which is spectacular. They also have an amazing restaurant attached to them where you can pick up an amazing breakfast before starting your journey touring the sites in Joburg. Location: 5/5 The location in Melrose Arch is a huge plus. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so you'll never run out of things to do. Conclusion: 4.75/5 I highly recommend the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Johannesburg. You will surely enjoy your stay while you visit JoBerg. Things to be aware of: Power issues plague the entire country. Places like African Pride have backup generators to assist with making your experience more enjoyable. When you have temporary blackouts, it is because the generator is assisting to maintain power to the entire building. Anyone who blames APM for power issues should be more aware of the countries they visit. APM doesn’t appear to have a fitness Gym on site, but you have access to a nearby gym, which is from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., I believe ( I could be wrong). Go to the front desk. Sie haben einen fantastischen Pool- und Whirlpoolbereich und hier habe ich die meiste Zeit genossen, ich wünschte nur, es gäbe keinen offensichtlichen Zaun direkt nach dem Infinity-Pool, da dies meiner Meinung nach den Zweck verfehlt. Kein Ort, den ich hochkarätigen Gästen empfehle, nur weil das Kommen und Gehen zu einfach war und es außerhalb des Zimmers nicht viel Privatsphäre gab. Das Frühstücksbuffet sowie die Speisekarte waren eine ziemliche Enttäuschung, abgesehen von den Steaks und Cocktails: Das Frühstücksangebot war begrenzt, so dass es sich wie eine Abzocke anfühlte, jeden Tag R240 pro Person zu zahlen. Der Service war im Allgemeinen unglaublich, mit warmem und freundlichem Personal, das Sie an jeder Ecke begrüßt.

Ich mochte die Lage. Es ist wirklich nahe dem Visazentrum, warum ich dort war und die Reise vom Flughafen war schnell und schwimmelos. Ich konnte früh überprüfen, was erstaunlich war. Der Manager auf der Pflicht und Porter wo so hilfreich und süß. Das Essen war aber wirklich nicht toll am Mittagessen. Ich hatte einen Stop-Salat, der buchstäblich nur müde Salatblätter und einige Käse war sehr enttäuscht. Frühstück war OK nicht wunderbar, nicht schrecklich nur OK. Das Barpersonal war super freundlich, aber auch hatte keine Bestände, um Cocktails zu machen, war ein bisschen enttäuscht. Das Zimmer selbst war sauber und komfortabel. Ich würde hier wieder nur über Essen bleiben oder zum Essen gehen.

Everything about our stay was amazing, the location, the staff and the food and who can forget the Grown up milkshakes. Thank you Raymond. The hotel has a great location with a shopping precinct on it's doorstep, multiple cafés and restaurants within minutes. Also the Joburg hop on hop off bus, stops just outside the hotel. A very comfortable stay, I just wish we had longer. I would definitely recommend this hotel too friends and family. In fact I have. I hope too return soon but in the meantime I would like to thank all of the staff at the hotel for for a lovely stay and a fantastic birthday. Thank you especially too Londiwe, Les, Aaron, Ewart, Raymond and not forgetting Mr.T. thank you all again
