Everything about our stay was amazing, the location, the staff and the food and who can forget the Grown up milkshakes. Thank you Raymond. The hotel has a great location with a shopping precinct on it's doorstep, multiple cafés and restaurants within minutes. Also the Joburg hop on hop off bus, stops just outside the hotel. A very comfortable stay, I just wish we had longer. I would definitely recommend this hotel too friends and family. In fact I have. I hope too return soon but in the meantime I would like to thank all of the staff at the hotel for for a lovely stay and a fantastic birthday. Thank you especially too Londiwe, Les, Aaron, Ewart, Raymond and not forgetting Mr.T. thank you all again

The location of APM allows you to start your exploration of JoBerg easily. Staff: 5/5 The African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel (APM) staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Welcome drinks, smiles, professionalism, and a great source for local information. All staff members were amazing. Special acknowledgments to Pretty and Mr. D!!! Also, a special shout-out to the lady who delivered the birthday gift to our room. Sorry, we never exchanged names! You know who you are! 😊 Staff makes your hotel; somehow, The African Pride got it right with their entire team. Hotel Room: 4/5 The rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. They have all the amenities you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and spacious. The Pride, though kept well, was slightly dated. There should be some type of assessment of each room so that they are able to keep its mystique intact (it’s time to get rid of every DVD player in your hotel… It's ok, no one will notice) Hotel Grounds: 5/5 It’s situated in Melrose, so the hotel grounds are also part of the Melrose in a way though they do have a pool area, which is spectacular. They also have an amazing restaurant attached to them where you can pick up an amazing breakfast before starting your journey touring the sites in Joburg. Location: 5/5 The location in Melrose Arch is a huge plus. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so you'll never run out of things to do. Conclusion: 4.75/5 I highly recommend the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Johannesburg. You will surely enjoy your stay while you visit JoBerg. Things to be aware of: Power issues plague the entire country. Places like African Pride have backup generators to assist with making your experience more enjoyable. When you have temporary blackouts, it is because the generator is assisting to maintain power to the entire building. Anyone who blames APM for power issues should be more aware of the countries they visit. APM doesn’t appear to have a fitness Gym on site, but you have access to a nearby gym, which is from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., I believe ( I could be wrong). Go to the front desk. Stayed here for two nights before going on safari. It was a nice room, however, attached to this property is the Executive suites and for the same cost you can get a bigger room and an in room washer and dryer so check availability. We got an amazing welcome by the front desk staff before they even knew that we were platinum elite members. Everyone was really professional and helpful. Let’s talk M Club. Had so much potential but couldn’t get it together. They were never ready to open. The coffee machine would not be ready first thing in the morning, the cream was never filled up, stirrers not available. COME ON! What do most people want at 6:30AM? Coffee! No silver ware or cups on tables on time. There were nice choices for breakfast but food didn’t get put out on time, ever. For those of us who want to get out early to see the city, it was frustrating. The wine in the evening was delicious with lots of options. Also, very substantial food choices in the evening. I would stay here again, for sure, but the property needs to up its game in the lounge and it would be so easy to correct these few things!

Das Hotel mit der schönsten Aussicht in ganz Johannesburg. Tolles Personal, super hilfreich und freundlich. Die Zimmer sind angenehm gross und mit Balkon. Die Dachterrasse ist ein Traum. Nur zu empfehlen. Besser jedoch mit einem Uber/Taxi bringen lassen. Selbst die paar Meter zu Fuss von Park Station sind nicht sorgenfrei.

Wie waren in diesem großartigen Hotel nur eine Nacht zur Zwischen- Übernachtung; es handelt sich um eine weitläufige, gut gepflegte Anlage mit zahlreichen Gartenplätzen, das Ganze hat Resort- Charakter. Das Hotel ist an einem Hang liegend über mehrere Ebenen, und man wird mit einem Golfwagen dem im Gepäck zum Zimmer gebracht. Hoch über allem ist ein fantastisches Restaurant mit Blick auf Johannesburg. Die Fahrzeit vom Flughafen beträgt rund eine halbe Stunde. Ich würde dieses Hotel immer für einen Aufenthalt in Johannesburg empfehlen, der Zoo ist nicht weit weg, und man hat eine ruhige, entspannte Hotel Atmosphäre. Das Personal ist fantastisch, der Service umfassend, es gab sogar im Vorfeld einen Anruf zu unseren Wünschen. Die Zimmer Ausstattung war auch bestens. Wer in Johannesburg übernachten will oder muss, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Einziger minus ist der winzige Pool, der sicherlich bei besserer Auslastung schnell überlaufen sein wird, dafür war er aber gut geheizt Der kleine Pool im Spa ist zu unserer Überraschung nicht geheizt gewesen.

Schöne Lage. Sehr freundlich das Personal

Das Hotel war zwar sehr schön und komfortabel, aber es liegt in einem extrem lauten Teil der Stadt, ich habe kaum durch das Auto und den Straßenlärm geschlafen. Der Parkplatz ist auch viel zu eng mit einem einzigen Ein- und Ausstiegspunkt, ich denke nicht, dass sie dort große Autos parken lassen müssen oder die Fahrer eher auf die scharfen und engen Kurven aufmerksam machen, bevor sie einfahren.

Das Hotel habe ich wegen der Lage gewählt. Vom Flughafen fährt ein Zug in 20 Minuten zur Sandton Station, von dort sind es nur 600 Meter zu Fuß. Das Hotel bietet sogar einen kostenfreien Shuttleservice (auch) von dieser Station an. Jedoch wird dies im Vorfeld nicht beworben. Die Sicherheitsmaßnahmen im Eingangsbereich vermitteln ein gutes Gefühl. Die Lobby befindet sich im 13. Stock. Sie ist großzugig gestaltet, nur die Bar in der Lobby könnte ein besseres Lichtkonzept vertragen (zu dunkel). Einfacher schneller Check-in, ich erhielt ein Zimmer Upgrade (statusbedingt). Das Zimmer hatte definitiv einen Wow-Faktor. Ein Eckzimmer, so dass man zu mehreren Seiten raussehen konnte... aus dem 22. Stock... die eine Seite ”Skyline” die andere Seite unverbauter Blick. Viel Licht. Die Möbel sind älteren Jahrgangs, sind aber zweckmäßig. Die Fenster könnten besser gewartet werden, eines schloss nicht richtig, das andere hatte einen Riss. Das Frühstück war solide was Auswahl und Qualität anbelangt. Das Ambiente könnte gerne einladender sein. Insbesondere beim Abendessen hat das Restaurant einen leichtes Kantinenambiente. Die Abendkarte könnte auch lokale/regionale Speisen vertragen. Ich hatte dort ein Steak, sehr gut! Der Check-out war etwas chaotisch, da Zimmer bereits bezahlt (teils Karte, teils Punkte) und Deposit für Restaurant (inkl. einmaliger Nutzung) schien es etwas zu Komplex zu sein. Da ich gehen musste vereinbarten wir eine Rechnung per Email. Diese kam dann nicht von selbst sondern erst auf Nachfrage. Besonderes Engagement: da ich leider überfallen und mir das Mobiltelefon entwendet wurde, hat man mir den Shuttleservice zur Polizeistation zur Verfügung gestellt und der Fahrer hat mir für die dortigen Formalitäten zur Seite gestanden.
