"We only needed in house service twice, once to get an ice bucket which was delivered fairly promptly, but the second time for some towels as the room had not been made up and we needed fresh towels to shower before we went to dinner for 5.00pm was a disaster, I rang inhouse service at around 2.00pm and explained that I needed them urgently. I then I had to go out to meet someone leaving my wife in the room wanting to have a bath. At 3.00pm I rang my wife to be told that no towels had been delivered, on returning to the hotel I went to reception and spoke to a gentleman there and he followed up my concerns and spoke to someone about the urgency of the situation and I then up to our room. It was at that stage about 3.45pm and so we had to use the used towels that had been left in the bath to be changed. I was rather disgusted when at 4.30pm the towels where delivered just before we had to leave for restaurant. I would have thought that our request for towels should have been sorted out and not taken 2 1/2 hours to complete the request which left me disgusted at the way it was handled."

"Das Hotel liegt sehr nahe der Stadt (kurzen Spaziergang) und hat viele Parkplätze. Die Dusche hatte einen guten Wasserdruck und ich fand das Zimmer komfortabel. Das Personal, das ich behandelt habe, war freundlich und hilfreich."

"Wir blieben 3 Nächte. Sehr viel war einfach. Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel war sauber, obwohl ein wenig in Teilen (schwimmbadbereich) vergaß. Parkplatz war teuer, aber einfach, und die Lage in der Nähe des Stadtzentrums war nur ein Traum. Alle Hauptromanen und Stadtattraktionen sind in einer einfachen Spazierweiterung. Alles in allem ein wirklich guter Aufenthalt. Das einzige, was ich habe, ist, dass wir am ersten Abend den Zimmerservice nach einer langen Reise bestellt haben. Es nahmen 3 Versuche, um die Bestellung richtig zu sein. Das war enttäuschend, aber am Ende des Tages war es keine massive Frage."

"The Mill Hotel & Spa is in an ideal location, just 5 minutes walk from Chester train station and the centre of Chester itself. So, what is a stay in this hotel like? I stayed in the Business Class Double room with a view of the canal. The room is a fair size, with the king size bed being very comfortable and clean. A big drawback for the room, however, is the lack of air conditioning facilities available. I stayed at the end of July, and whilst the outside wasn’t hot, the room itself was stuffy and opening the window didn’t really help too much. I can’t imagine what it would be like staying here in during a heatwave, which is becoming more common! The room also comes with decent tea and coffee making facilities, along with a desk for working. The bathroom is a good size, but it could do with a bit of cleaning. There are two shower nozzles - the smaller standard nozzle was fine but the rainfall shower nozzle was extremely dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been used in a while - and I’d recommend not using that particular shower if you stay here. The extractor fan vent is also very dusty and obviously hasn’t been cleaned in a while! Over to the spa facilities - they are nothing short of exceptional. This is the real draw when staying here, with the swimming pool and sauna being to an excellent standard. Use of the swimming pool and gym is free to all guests whilst staying here, so make good use of the facilities! I opted for the inclusion of breakfast during my stay, and I’d say it was ok rather than great. The amount of food available isn’t huge, though the likes of the croissants and cooked breakfast are to a good standard. As the hotel is in need of an update - it firmly feels like it’s stuck in the mid noughties - the hotel does excel in the standard of service provided to its customers. Whether that be from the cleaners, the reception staff or the waiting staff, everyone is smiling and friendly. It makes all the difference! Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. I hope they do update the rooms soon enough - they really do need air conditioning! And I also hope the bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned a little more. But everything else was to a good standard and for the price paid (£90 for two people with breakfast and spa facilities included), you can’t find much better than that!"

"Incredible from start to finish. Slight mix up on the booking system but sorted within minutes. Couldn't have been better looked after! Excellent value, staff that go the extra mile made our 1 night stay so enjoyable the children didn't want to go home!"

"Große Lage - nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß zum Stadtzentrum Chester. Hotel hat alles, was Sie brauchen. Nur unten am Frühstück ist grundlegende. Es gibt einen unabhängigen Kaffeeshop wenige Minuten entfernt, wo Sie ein superbes Frühstück zum gleichen Preis erhalten können."

"We had a lovely greeting and a pleasant suprise our room was ready early so we were able to go straight to the room. The room was spacious, quiet and clean. Lovely toiletries in bathroom. The staff throughout were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good although a few items were not replenished for quite a while. We have stayed previously as location is excellent and we are always happy with the service and standard."
