"Wir waren drei Freunde auf Reise durch China, Dali war unser erster Ziel. Das Xianlai Inn hat uns sehr gut gefallen, die Lage ist sehr angenehm am Anfang der Altstadt Dalis - es war zwar nachts mal etwas lauter, aber nicht so laut wie wenn man noch tiefer in die Altstadt gehen würde. Dennoch ist alles gut erreichbar, sowohl viele Restaurants als auch Fahrradverleih. Die Zimmer sind sehr schlicht gehalten, nicht besonders gut, nicht besonders schlecht, man nächtigt dort gut aber mehr auch nicht. Dafür ist die gemeinsame Terasse sehr schön um Abends zu entspannen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Service, sowohl die Besitzer als auch die Reinigungskräfte waren unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Besitzerin schickt einem direkt zu Beginn einen Guide mit Spielinformationen und Restaurantempfehlungen in Dali, alle sehr lokal und köstlich. Einmal hatte die Besitzerin für uns auch spontan Plätze in einem Hotpot-Restaurant reserviert, sehr zuvorkommend! Das einzige was auszusetzen ist, dass sehr viele Mücken in das Zimmer kommen - auch wenn das Zimmer immer verschlossen war, mussten viele Viecher geklatscht werden. Außerdem hatte das Zimmer einen strengen Geruch wenn die Klimaanlage nicht lief, ich schätze mal von der Feuchte. Alles in allem aber trotzdem ein sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel, würde jederzeit wieder kommen, vorallem für den Preis"

XXNYLMy friend and I enjoyed our stay in the 'Yunxi 270° Seaview Terrace Double Bed Room' at Dali.Muxi Inn (大理木兮·半山Villa海景民宿). We found this hotel via reviews on XiaoHongShu and the room looked exactly like the stock photos. The hotel and room were beautiful, the hotel staff were very helpful, and we would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Dali and are looking for a hotel with an amazing view of Dali Erhai lake. Number of nights of stay: 3 nights Hotel location: The hotel is situated in a quiet but brightly lit residential/hotel estate at the end of winding uphill road (around the Dreamland/Santorini 圣托里尼大理理想邦 area), and is located about 20 minutes away from Dali Railway Station. The vehicle drop-off point is directly outside the hotel. The restaurants around the hotel close at about 8.30pm-9pm Room: The 'Yunxi 270° Seaview Terrace Double Bed Room' is the only room located on the fifth floor. There is a lift in the hotel so it was convenient to transport our luggage. The room was perfect - it was really spacious, beautiful and clean. There was one king-sized bed, which was slightly too soft for my liking, but the pillows (one soft and one firmer memory foam pillow for each guest) were comfortable. There was a large living area with a sofa, three coffee tables and two additional chairs; balcony with two comfortable rocking chairs, a coffee table and a stunning view of the Erhai lake. The sky roof, when opened, was pretty in the daytime but it was difficult to see the stars at night due to the light pollution from the nearby buildings. The open concept wardrobe was large enough for us to hang our clothes Bathroom: Two sinks, separate shower and toilet area, one jacuzzi. Toiletries (e.g. shampoo, conditioner and body soap), disposable toothbrush/toothpaste, rubber bathroom slippers and disposable bedroom slippers were provided. The shower had both a handheld shower head and rain shower, with good water pressure and temperature Hotel amenities: Complimentary breakfast (from 8.30am-10.30am; delicious spread of noodles with soup, porridge, fried egg, bread and vegetable platter) and afternoon tea (Lotus Biscoff biscuits, yoghurt, fruits and plums); cafe at the reception area is opened during office hours and only sells beverages; beautiful reception area with a friendly and gentle 5-year-old house cat; communal washing machine (free of charge, inclusive of laundry detergent) Transfer: Free airport pick-up for this room type. No free pick-up from Dali railway station

GGRACEOur stay at Dali Xingmai Mountain and Sea View Homestay was pleasant overall and a good value for its price, especially if you're seeking a peaceful retreat in the quieter part of Dali. Traveling as a family, we were looking for a place that offered serene sea views, and this homestay mostly delivered on that. While there is some ongoing construction in front of the building that slightly affects the view, the surrounding scenery is still beautiful and calming. The cleanliness of the homestay was satisfactory, and it offers a good range of amenities. The kitchen, in particular, is well-equipped, making it a great option for families or groups of friends planning to cook and enjoy meals together. However, if you're simply traveling for leisure and don't plan to spend much time at the homestay, you may find the kitchen unnecessary. One thing to note is that there is no central air conditioning or heating system. The homestay provides a bed warmer (which works well) and a small air-conditioning unit in the living room, but the bedrooms can get quite chilly at night, especially during winter. It's something to consider if you're visiting during colder months. In terms of location, this homestay is ideal if you're looking to unwind in a quiet and restful environment. However, for those planning a busy schedule with visits to Dali's main attractions, the distance might be a drawback. The homestay is located in a residential area, and getting to most tourist spots can take 45-60 minutes by car, whether you're heading to the west or east side of Erhai Lake. There are also no nearby F&B stores except one small restaurant in the building next door so make sure you eat in the city areas before coming back to the inn. That said, if you're staying for a longer duration and prefer a relaxed, free-and-easy itinerary, this could be a suitable choice given its amenities like the kitchen and laundry facilities. It's also worth mentioning that this homestay feels more like an Airbnb than a traditional inn. It's situated in a residential building, with the entrance being a carpark and access through an elevator to a residential unit. There’s no lobby, service counter, or common areas. Instead, check-in and assistance are handled through WeChat. Despite some of the drawbacks, the service here truly stood out. The staff member assisting us was incredibly kind, prompt, and accommodating. Whenever we had questions or faced minor issues, she responded quickly and made every effort to resolve them, which helped make our trip smoother. Her attentiveness and helpfulness were a highlight of our stay and left a positive impression. AAllen HaimingJust spent a wonderful five nights at the Anyu Hotel in Dali in November, this beautifully appointed boutique hotel was so charming. From the warm lights, to the rich hardwood floors, ceilings, and furniture to all the thoughtful accents in the room and common areas, it felt like a charming and cozy home away from home. Hotel location is fantastic, just steps away from the Dali Ancient Town, so everything from cafes, top restaurants, pharmacies, markets, bars, and hundreds of other stores and outdoor vendors are just a 2-10 minute walk away, no need to sit in traffic or call a car to get around. Bed and pillows very comfortable, showerhead very powerful so makes for a very luxurious shower. However, the best thing about the hotel is their warm and caring staff. Nancy, one of the cleaning staff, was always super helpful and attentive and delightful to chat with, and was also kind enough to give us some great recommendations on places to visit which we ended up enjoying very much. Anna was also very nice to interact with, her gentle and pleasant demeanor and thoughtful words always made it a pleasure to see her. Candy was wonderful as well, always making sure we were attended to and ended up making some great recommendations on places to eat nearby. Her warm smile and kind demeanor will be remembered. Finally, it was Vivian who we owe a deep debt of gratitude to. On the first day, my 84-year old Mom came down with an illness which included all sorts of symptoms. Vivian went out of her way to call a car and she accompanied us to the nearest hospital where she helped us fill out all the necessary paperwork and stayed by Mom's side for over an hour as we waited to see a doctor. Medication was prescribed and she called another car to take us back to the hotel while she went to a nearby pharmacy to pick up the medication for us which she then brought back to the hotel. By then it was well into the night and she had even taken us to the hospital when she was already off work, so this was all on her own time. My Mom ended up making a recovery in large part to Vivian's quick and incredibly kind actions. She really went above and beyond and we are just so grateful to her and Anyu Hotel for helping to save my Mom. Vivian was also an absolute pleasure to talk to as she always came over to greet us and chat everyday during our stay. Her warm smile, cheerful disposition, and charismatic yet humble personality always made every interaction a real pleasure. The hospitality we experienced from her will never be forgotten and feel very fortunate to have met someone with such a kind heart and also very high EQ and dedication. We know if we had stayed at a different hotel there is no way we would have experienced this level of hospitality so we are deeply appreciative for Vivian and the entire staff at Anyu for making our trip one that won't be forgotten.

JJane.TI recently stayed at a hotel in Dali, Yunnan, and had an overall pleasant experience. The cleanliness of the room and common areas was impressive — everything was well-maintained and tidy, which made the stay comfortable and relaxing. The service stood out as one of the highlights. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with directions or local recommendations. They made check-in and check-out smooth and stress-free. But would like to comment on the photoshooting service that this hotel provided, although they stated it’s free, but each room ONLY FREE 5 PIECES NON EDIT photos no matter how many days you stay. So please don’t ask for this service if you don’t want your pocket to have a hole 🤣, would recommend you to have the traditional costume shoot in Lijiang or Shangrila which will cost in cheaper price where they can provide costume rental and full make up. This hotel they charge a very high price for the photoshooting if you want to buy the photos from them. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lijiang, if they like photoshooting. Or else you can stay in other better choices hotels.

RricandoThe guest house owners were very initiative. They picked us up from the Dali Railway station. The rooms were clean. Since there are 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 kids, we had a big room and a smaller room joined together with 2 large beds. The view was amazing. Upon arrival, it was 4.45pm, and we asked for recommendations of where to eat. However, since it's neither dinner nor lunch time, the owner Mr Hao suggested that we eat in the guesthouse itself. The guest house auntie cooked for us the best rice noodles that we have eaten so far. Springy white noodles in a bowl of hot flavourful broth. My kids slurped it all up and polished the whole big bowl. When we asked for recommendations on local eating places, Mr Hao gave us a whole list of his specially curated food places, which we managed to try 2 of them. And indeed they were good. The downside was that there were no coffee or tea sachets in the room. But they said they will make it for us and can send it to our rooms. They mentioned that they have a tea room. And so we enjoyed the 2 types of brewed puer tea while Mr Hao explained a little about the tea. Personally, I feel that since they have a special tea room to enjoy tea, sending sachet or tea bags would be inappropriate and a disrespect to the art of enjoying Puer tea. Location wise, it has a good view of the lake. And it's quiet. It's not exactly near the old town but we took a taxi (20 mins) to the old town. Thankfully, we didn't stay at the old town as it's way too crowded, and we felt it's a tourist trap. However, near the guest house, there were many highly recommended restaurants. The guest house has a dining area on the 1st floor. One thing that I really enjoyed about this place is the dining area. The lady that cooked the meal for us looked like a typical chinese grandma (which reminded me of my late grandma) that she cooked the food so deliciously with passion. While we had our breakfast she would sit at another table, she wasnt staring , just casually sitting while browsing her phone or ensuring we finish our food but her presence reminded me of when my late grandma would sit and watch us eat to ensure we have no leftovers. Lol. It was an oddly familiar and nostalgic feeling that we laughed about. But we do get the homey feel, which we really liked. The guest house also had a laundry room for guests to use. The guest house owners were very initiative, friendly, and helpful. Anything we need, we just let Mr Hao know, and he would reply. He even offered to send us back to the highway station. It's definitely highly recommended. And I would ask my friends that should they come to Dali, they should stay in this place. It's just perfect for us.

GGastnutzerInterestingly, as soon as you enter the entrance to the hotel (about 20 steps from main Dali ancient city's pedestrian street), it is serenely quiet and no noise from the chaotic tourist crowd can be heard at all. How blissful! Don't let the simple, understated entrance throw you off. What I like about this hotel is as soon as I made the booking, the hotel contacted me and added me via Wechat. Checking with me on my arrival date and timing, and offer to pick up from the main road as the hotel is located on the pedestrian street so no car is allowed. It's a welcoming touch which I appreciated. I specifically booked the room that oversees the 'Wu Hua Tower' from my balcony. It's so close, loved it! Beautiful morning and night views of the tower. The hotel has just recently opened earlier in 2024; the room interior is modern and clean. Comfortable room size, bedding and amenities. It also has one of those multi-button toilet seat (just like the ones in Korea/Japan). One minor detail if can be improved is to add hooks or railings to hang the towels. The helpful team of staff, Pei helped me with the luggage using the trolley upon arrival, and Ah Hua who helped me to arrange a driver for the day and recommended places to check out. There was even grilled tofu and tea by the charcoal fire each night (it's freezing at night in Dec) whenever Ah Hua can manage (thank you for the supper and company, Ah Hua!). Met the easy-going owners too, husband and wife. No breakfast at the hotel but you will be spoilt for choices with so many eateries within walking distance. If you're up for it, there is a local morning market just outside of the North Gate, about 10mins walk. Very local with plenty of authentic breakfast options. Love the morning hustle! Plenty of photo opportunities. If you enjoy shopping, it's a 'disaster' as this hotel is located right in the middle of it! Shop till you drop. It is also close to plenty live music bars. I must say, this is one of those hotels that I will bookmark to stay again whenever I return to windy Dali.

TTangjihedeqimaIch möchte mit einigen Worten die heiße, feine, freundliche, besondere, farbige, netzrote, Filme beschreiben, die eine der beliebtesten Völker, die wir jemals hatten, und ich kann nicht erkennen, wer der Boss ist, aber der kleine Bruder, Die Sister der Ms. Fräulein sagte uns, das Zimmer zu aktualisieren, nachdem sie einen Tag zurückgekommen war, und ich fragte nicht, warum ich es geholfen habe. Ich fühle mich sehr überrascht und glücklich. Vielen Dank, und dann ist das Zimmer wirklich sehr sauber und sauber. Wir können es nicht stören, Ein oder zwei Minuten zu Fuß zum schönen Ökotunnel des Meeres von Wu. Das Fenster sah sich als die Landschaft des Ökotunnelparks aus. RR.T.xDuring my recent stay at this hotel I had an excellent experience. The hotel itself was modern and spacious, offering all the comfort I needed. It was also located just outside the ancient town, which was only a short five-minute walk away, making it very convenient. There were also plenty of food options nearby, so I never had to worry about where to eat (thought honestly even if the restaurants nearby are not your liking it’s quite easy to get food delivered using one of the food delivery apps). What truly set this place apart was the exceptional service from the manager. She was genuinely friendly and incredibly helpful, going out of her way to ensure I had a great stay. Since I arrived two days before the May Day holiday, she advised me to plan my trip around Er Hai Lake a day early to avoid the holiday crowds. I’m so grateful for this advice because my trip around the lake was smooth and enjoyable, with minimal crowds. By the time I was heading back to the hotel, I could already see the traffic building up with the incoming holiday tourists and I can only imagine how bad the traffic was around the lake the next day. According to the driver it is not uncommon to encounter standstill traffic at around parts of the lake requiring around 2-3 hours to clear during the peak periods. Not only did she provide valuable advice, but she also arranged a driver for my lake trip on very short notice, and at a price much better than what I could find elsewhere. Her local knowledge didn’t end there—she recommended great places to eat and gave me tips on where to buy local specialties and what to avoid, which really helped me make the most of my time in Dali. One general tip would be to be selective of the stores in the ancient town as they might not offer the best value. I would however recommend adding the hotel on WeChat prior to arriving just in the event that you encounter some difficulty in locating the hotel since it is not located along the main road, there is however direct road access to the main door of the hotel. Overall, the hospitality here was outstanding, and I genuinely felt well taken care of. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dali.

Obwohl es früher nicht mehr schwer war, ein Zimmer zu finden, sind Qualität und Service immer online, was sehr angenehm ist. Vom frühen Morgen bis zur Abenddämmerung ist es hier wunderschön. Von vor vier Jahren bis heute scheint dieser Ort sowohl vertraut als auch unbekannt zu sein. Sie waren sehr rücksichtsvoll und haben die Unterkunftsinformationen aus diesem Jahr beibehalten. Diesmal haben sie eine andere Zimmerkategorie für mich eingerichtet, die sehr warm war. Die Vorräte im Zimmer sind sehr gut. Es gibt Alkoholtupfer im Badezimmer, aber ich habe das Gefühl, dass ich sie direkt mitnehmen möchte. Haha. Das Wichtigste ist, die Feuchtigkeitscreme mitzunehmen, um eine Handcreme herzustellen, sie riecht sehr gut. [Schlagkuss R] Ich muss das Frühstück und den Nachmittagstee, die unten am Berg serviert werden, wirklich loben, sie sind sehr aufmerksam. Der Butler wird Sie im Voraus über die Uhrzeit und die Kategorie informieren und nicht nur die Zahlen erfinden. Am ersten Tag, als Sie eincheckten, war gerade Nachmittagstee. Der Kaffee war sehr gut und die Kuchen waren nicht minderwertig Bilder📷Schade, dass ich mit anderen Dingen beschäftigt war und den Nachmittagstee verpasst habe. Das nächste Mal möchte ich Kaffee und Nachmittagstee trinken. ☕️ Empfohlenes [Sun R] Frühstück, es ist wirklich reichhaltig und lecker, Freunde müssen aufstehen, hahaha. Das Personal, das den Berg hinunterfährt, ist sehr freundlich und geduldig, aber es gibt keinen unnötigen Service oder übertriebene Begeisterung. Hier können Sie Ihre Zeit frei und natürlich verbringen. Abends gibt es Gute-Nacht-Milch und Birnensuppe, da bleibt nichts übrig. [Gute Nacht R] Für Mädchen, die gerne fotografieren, ist es auch sehr aufregend, hier eine Gruppe zu machen, vor allem wegen meiner Arbeit. Ich hoffe, das nächste Mal wiederzukommen und alles zu erleben, zum Beispiel eine Gruppe kleiner Fotos zu machen.

TT.W.LBooked the family room at courtyard level as I had elderly and wanted an accommodation which is easy to access. I also did not want to be hoisting luggages up and down and over cobbled streets in the old town and somewhere along the city wall so it is easy to start our tour of the sights around Dali in the morning. Room: Simple efficient clean layout with open concept. Rooms are relatively new. Sink area is located outside the bathroom which is good. The beds are hard in my opinion but elder felt the bed was comfortable. Bottled water was provided everyday (left outside our door). Room Temperature control was ok and the hot water for the shower heated up quick and could maintain at a stable level which is a plus unlike some other hotels in Yunnan. There is flight of 3-4 steps to room which is manageable for our elder as the room is slightly raised above the courtyard. We had an early check-in as the room was ready. The staff helped us move the luggages to our room. You could also book the entire courtyard for larger groups. The owner is building additional new rooms in the annex but the construction happens during the day and it is not noisy as most guests would be out. Location: It is near the South Gate (there is a local market nearby check the maps or ask the owner) and our local driver could stop right outside our accommodation. We didn’t get breakfast from the bnb as there were food shops offering noodles, congee and fried dumplings around that open early at 7am. You can also make your way to the local market near the gate. You could also go up the South Gate for free to catch the sunrise or sunset view. Touring around Dali If you can comms in Chinese, you could message the owner ahead to assist to arrange for a car transfer from Dali Fengyi Airport or the Dali Railway station to the BnB. It cost RMB50 for us from the Railway station to the BnB.
