Lion Tree Top Lodge

Our hosts, Lynn and Brian, treated the 5 of us like family. Great communication prior to our arrival, regarding game drives and other activities, all being organised ahead of time. Really comfortable 'tree top tents', in the Bush, with associated wildlife nighttime noises. Fantastic sleeps. Loved the small social gatherings at breakfast and dinner, meeting and chatting with the other local and intrmernational guests, together with Lynn and Brian. Food was excellent and plentiful. Great chef and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were very sad to leave after our 6 nights and 5 very full days. Would highly recommend it if you want to experience the real Bush atmosphere in a small, family group setting.

Lynn, Brian and all their staff made our stay an absolutely memorable one. They spared no effort to make us feel very much at home. Not only did they book outings for us, they even offered to take us to a reserve as my partner had fallen and could hardly walk. We enjoyed the food at the open fire in the boma, breakfast was great. We could not have wished for more. We hope to be able to come back in November. Thanks so much.

We stayed as a family of four, with children of 9 and 6. We loved everything about Lion Tree Top Lodge. Lovely owners and staff, lovely setting in the bush - zebras and giraffes wandering around the camp. The tent was easily big enough for the four of us, with a lovely big bathroom and outdoor shower. The beds were extremely comfortable and come with an electric blanket for those cold Winter nights. The kids managed a quick plunge in the pool and they loved the experience of sitting around the Boma in the evening The owners arranged for us to go on a walk through the bush as well as a half day game drive to a nearbye big 5 reserve. Both were sadly lacking in animals for us but we spoke to other guests who had fantastic encounters on both trips - thats the luck of safari! Wouldn't hesitate to return to LTTL or recommend to friends/family - it was a wonderful end to our safari adventure with brilliant hosts and a magical setting

We had the most divine 3-night stay at Lion Tree Top Lodge! - Hospitality: Brian, Lynn and staff were incredibly warm and hospitable and made us feel at home. They were always up for a friendly chat, and were happy to help with booking any activities for you (even outside of the lodge). - The treehouse: we stayed in the Cheetah treehouse and absolutely loved it! The trees are literally growing onto the balcony. There's a kettle (teas and coffee) and a bar fridge in the unit, which is all you need. There is no cell reception in the unit, so you feel completely off the grid! Lion Tree Top is a slice of heaven. - Location: the lodge is situated in Guernsey private reserve, which borders the Kruger National Park. The Guernsey road isn't in great condition, so a high-rise vehicle is highly recommended. Guernsey is teeming with lots of wildlife (no big 5) and birds, and you can hear the lions from Kruger roaring at night as if they're a stone throw away from your treehouse. It takes about an hour to get to the Orpen gate at Kruger. - Food: The food (breakfasts and dinner) were delicious, prepared by a talented private chef - 10/10. Chef was very proud of her meals and presented the 3-course creative dinner menu each night. I especially loved sitting around the boma for dinners swapping stories with the other guests.

Our stay was unexpected, we had to make last minute changes and booked one night on our way to Kruger Park. We loved it and stay an additional night. We didn’t know what to expect as the road to access the property is challenged. We did OK. When we arrived to the Lodge we loved it instantly ! We arrived at dinner time and it was like coming home, a warm welcome, wonderful dinner around a bon fire, very nice people, the owners, the guests and the staff! Our luxury tent was beautiful! Very private and spacious. We did a walk safari in the lodge private reserve, and it was very nice, specially walking near the giraffes. One night with slept with the wonderful sound of lions roaring!

My husband and I were looking for somewhere to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Being in the bush in a luxurious tent absolutely delivered on this!! Nothing beats being able to hear the crickets and frogs at night whilst being snug in a comfortable bed!! Food was amazing and we felt thoroughly spoilt. Lynn's attention to detail to ensure we had the best stay with lots of activities is second to none and both Brian and Lynn were perfect hosts.

Lovely location with great hosts. The dinner and breakfast were good, and was a nice time chatting with other guests and the owners. We did the night game drive and the morning bush walk. The reserve is not that big, resulting in seeing a lot of animals. Not all animals can be spotted though. To see the big 5 you need to visit other places also

Accommodation was excellent. The staff were very friendly. Owners went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed. Food was great. Loved the animals and surrounding area. Can recommend this to anyone wanting to visit the Lowveld area
