Room : The room is not sound proof. In the morning there was a loud noise from rooftop Breakfast : Breakfast is included in the room rate. But I feel it's not worth it. Because if you want more hot food, you have to pay more money, such as sausages and eggs

Perfect if you want to stay over night for yourself or for business trip. There’s a bar and restaurant at the location. The room I stayed was small, but was clean and perfect if your need a room to stay overnight. Hotel is in a good location. Staff were kind and helpful

The staff at Avonbridge Hotel were lovely.. they were very polite and extremely helpful..My room was spotless.. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. It was constantly being restocked throughout my time in the restaurant..

All was good except for the noise from neighbors. The soundproof was poor.

Wir haben in diesem Hotel aufgrund einer Rundreise 1 Nacht verbracht. Im Zimmer gab es 1 Bett mit Hängematte und 1,40 m Breite für 2 Personen. Das Fenster war mit Folie verklebt, vermutlich um den Ausblick zu verschönern. Beim öffnen des Fensters sah man direkt auf einen Dachvorsprung. Die Nachttischlampe neben dem Bett konnten wir leider nicht aktivieren, da wir rund um den Nachttisch keine Steckdose fanden. Das Abendessen war bis auf die Suppe in Ordnung. Vermutlich war der Koch verliebt oder hat die Creme-Suppe mit Salzwasser gekocht. Zimmer war sauber.

We stayed here in September 2024 overnight, on our way to the Orkneys, as part of a coach trip. The room was great; clean, spacious, and warm. Staff were excellent, very welcoming and friendly. Buffet breakfast was great, hot items (i.e. full English/Scottish) cooked to order.The one slight complaint we had was the evening meal that was billed as 'roast beef with sautee potatoes' but it turned out to be two slices of beef with ONE potato slice! Nowhere near enough when you've spent hours travelling to get there.

When entering the hotel the reception area is lovely, and you can see into the dining room that it is also a lovely set up. The staff at the reception were lovely, however when we got our cards and headed up stairs to the hotel corridor, the corridor is in need of an update. The blue carpet is very outdated and run down, and the paint is chipped and cracked, the higher the floor you went the worse it became. When entering the rooms they were nothing like the pictures shown, they are outdated with creaky beds, hard mattresses and pillows. the hair dryer have a smell (would recommend taking your own). Our spare pillows were not stored correctly and instead placed in a bin liner. There is a ironing board for people who are staying longer, but no iron, however when going into persons room they had an iron. The corridors were had creaky floor boards that you could hear whenever someone went passed, that included at night. and the doors were heavy that when they slammed shut they shook the wall. I do understand that is it an old building, however I feel that they need to work on updating the rooms. (P.s there is no lift). The shower had good pressure in my room, however in another persons rooms they didn't. Towels were clean, the usual hand towels, bath towel and mat, there is also a shower mat available. For our food the angus burger, chicken Milanese, loaded fries, steak pie and lasagne were good, we found that the fish for the fish and chips was slightly overcooked, but the chips were really good. for the desserts the pannacotta was enjoyed, however we were disappointed in the sundae's, the toffee ones didn't have much of a taste, and the strawberry one have ice cream with lumps on cream in them that made the texture feel weird, instead of using aerosol cream on top, whipped double cream was placed on top that made it lie heavy in my stomach. We had trouble sleeping as our room was outside the bar, we heard the thumping of the music and yelling, and we couldn't even close our window as it wouldn't shut. Breakfast is not included in the booking, and children do not eat free, for the cold continental breakfast it was limited: one kind of cheese and meat, only white or brown bread (not sure of there is a gluten free option), cereals, fruit, and pain au chocolate that cost £7 ish, and for the hot breakfast (unlimited I think) costs £15, however there was little amount of options: bacon, sausages, beans, hashbrowns, potato scone and eggs - scrambled or fried (not sure if there is vegetarian and vegan options, they were not listed) I will say that the staff were really nice and friendly, and were approachable.

Disturbed sleep due to loud scurrying noises in the walls. Sounds very much like noises my hamster makes. I caught it on video. The hotel room wasn't the cleanest either, the lobby and wedding function areas seem to be this hotels main priority and not the standard rooms. We were in room 20. If you head to a standard room, it has stains on the ceiling and black mould on the wall in the bathroom. Stains even on the saucer for the teacup. The towels were nice and the bed was not bad. We asked the receptionist if he could open the window because it was stuck and the room had no other ventilation. Thankfully he managed to force the window open. If you are looking for company with scurrying animals in the walls, this is the place to be.

A very comfortable stay. There's no lift, but the very welcoming receptionist carried my suitcase upstairs for me - it's in quite a grand Victorian building with a very impressive staircase. My room was a double one, quite small but the bed was very comfortable. The furniture was quite old fashioned (or classic?) in style, which I like, and the TV was good. The bathroom was small too, and the plumbing took a bit of working out, but it was fine once I'd done so. The room was at the front of the building, overlooking the A72 Carlisle Road, so it was a bit noisy though not excessively so. The restaurant is Italian style and excellent, and breakfast was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

We booked a few rooms and one room the toilet was not working properly told reception the night we arrived then next day only to be told toilet was out of order and they left the door unlocked when we was out of hotel.so the stay was not what we expected as had to use the communal toilets.and I asked to speak to a manager there was none on them days so sent email to them still nothing so would never stay in this hotel again take my money but don't provide the use of toilet in your room

We had our wedding meal and party at The Avonbridge and a number of our friends and family stayed there - including us. The staff without exception were just the friendliest most helpful bunch of people. From the planning to the day itself they couldn’t do enough for us. We had the most wonderful time and unlike many places the price doesn’t double when you say it’s a wedding!! I can’t recommend them highly enough - the rooms were beautifully decorated. We used the Primavera and the Gran Sala. The food was great and the whole experience was a delight. Thank you so much to Marco, Cerys, Francesca and all the team. Irene & Kevin

Nice Hotel with friendly staff food was good as was breakfast, one negative was the mattress it was like a board and noisy when turning, overall value for money I had absolutely no complaints and would happily return again, thanks for a lovely stay.

The Hotel and Reasterant has had a revamp menu is in Italian, so many fantastic starter, mains and deserts to choose from. My Husband and I visit here with my siblings and their partners ever three months , for a wee dinner bed and breakfast. We all love it but this visit with the new menu was the best visit ever. As we were all choosing what to eat we were also choosing what to have the next time lol. All the bedding looks brand new, amazing pillows too , beds are a mix of medium or hard so we swap rooms so we each have the kind of bed we like .
