Alamos Retreat - Wellness Yoga Boutique

This is really a wonderful retreat. The rooms are well-thought out, all individual, and very comfortable. The beds are probably amongst the best I have experienced, certainly the best in Portugal. Lourenco, the owner, and his team have given much thought to every detail, and their care and attention was evident throughout the stay. The resort is quite small, so you do get to know everyone staying there, and the team works hard to ensure that all your needs are met. They will also suggest and arrange excursions during the day. I went canoeing, and really enjoyed the experience. Morning yoga sessions were followed an unexpectedly great breakfast. I had the evening meal plan, and was really pleased I had taken this option. I was treated to imaginative and delicious vegan meals, each night with a different country theme. I did the mindfulness course during my stay, and had the pleasure of working with Raquel, who was thoughtful, and imaginative in her techniques and suggestions. I would highly recommend this program. Different types of yoga are offered each day, and they are easily accessible for beginners. However, experienced yoga practitioners may find them on the light side. I was ok with this, as I was more interested in the regular yoga practice routine. The resort and its team exceeded all my expectations. I look forward to returning to Alamos in the near future.

Alamos Retreat is such a unique and beautiful place. From the moment you arrive you are greeted with such a warm welcome. The staff are the most kindest and caring you will ever meet and this also comes across in the food they so lovingly prepare. It’s delicious! The rooms are large, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. I selected full yoga, which is 2 yoga classes per day. There’s a good range of different types of yoga and (with exception of aerial yoga), all classes are held in the Dome complete with large log burner. The yoga instructors were very experienced, extremely caring and the classes catered for all levels from first time yogis through to teachers. My mother and I booked a 5 day Yoga and Surf programme at Alamos. We had the most wonderful experience. We were greeted by the kindest staff who instantly made us feel welcome. They offered a great variety of yoga, and always adapted the classes to your level of experience. The retreat had a really nice sense of family, over the 5 days we spent there we got the opportunity to connect with everyone at the retreat. I personally loved our yoga sessions with Ema, I found her style of teaching very impactful. The food at the retreat was always fresh, dynamic and healthy. I'm eager to visit again soon. I couldn't thank you wonderful team who ran the retreat anymore.

We participated in the yoga program and are still over the moon with this experience. You feel welcome at once in a very comfortable environment and Lourenco and his team manage to make you feel at home within minutes. There’s enough space to relax within your own space or by the pool but the retreat also gives you the opportunity to meet likeminded people within this friendly environment. The yoga classes are very diverse so there’s a sort of yoga for everyone. Our highlight was dinner time - home cooked with a different cultural motto everyday and always spectacular! Plant based options are possible. If you would like to do other activities (SUP, Kayaking etc.) the staff makes it possible in a very quick and uncomplicated way. The whole stay within the retreat was special, not only because of the relaxing a**osphere, beautiful amenities and yoga classes for all levels but also because of the amazing staff and personal encounters as well as the beautiful environment of the Algarve.

I was very lucky or was it fate? I spontaneously emailed Alamos Retreat at the beginning of July that I was looking for something in combination with yoga & surfing for 5 days. They had one seat left. Lourenço and his team like Lidia, Fatima and Marlen were super friendly and always helpful! I've been to a lot of hotels and abroad, but you get the La Famiglia vibe here. I've felt good since day 1. The food is delicious and freshly prepared - the breakfast buffet is fantastic. The combination of yoga and surfing with the vegetarian food was great for my body, but also for my soul. You also offer yoga twice a day, different ones: Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Hatha, Kundalini & Antigravity Yoga. In any case, I will visit this gem in Guia Albufeira again and recommend it to everyone!
