The San Luis Resort and Spa is the best 8n Galveston PIRIOD!!!! Every time I bring my family we always stay here and every time they exced our expectations. All the stuff is very polite, attentive and always want to go the extra mile for you. On this particular trip we came here because it was my daughter's Nationals Dance Competition as well as her birthday and on top of that my wife's and I Aniversary and when I was doing the check-in I mentioned to Connie at the front desk and she suggested it tonnage something n8ce done for my wife and daughter.. Connie and Camille the concierge took care of everything, they got a dozen of red Roses and Strawberrys cover in chocolate for my wife and a birthday cake and small flower bouquet for my daughter and made me look like the best!!! So thank you so much Connie and Camille you guys are great!!. I wanna thank to all th3 Resort stuff too, the Vallet Parking guys whole were always polite, the waitress lady at the pool. Sorry I didn't get there names but they were great too. I recommend this resort very much. I know I might be a little more expensive but I always saybthis " You get what you paid and what's cheaper ends up being a lot more expensive!!"

The hotel was perfect for what we wanted apart from the dark & dreary decoration of the rooms... dark browns, mustard & dark orange colors were not what I expected at a seaside resort! I imagined walking into a light blue or light green room as you'd see in the condos to rent. These colors were just dark & desperately need renovating. The bathroom had seen better days for sure...the bath base looked slightly grubby but it had a raised anti slip mat which often retains a darker appearance & the shower doors were streaked & didn't fit together properly. Basically it was a bit messy & unappealing!
However, the facilities were excellent. Balconies are great w/ wonderful views. Club ten level allows a child free zone, which makes it way quieter & offers a free delivered breakfast or a voucher to reduce your breakfast bill @ Blakes Bistro & I believe free valet parking (apart from tips of course!)
The restaurants here at The San Luis are excellent. Everything we ate here was delicious but expensive. Service was excellent also & all staff were extremely attentive & friendly.

It is an excellent facility to stay in Galveston. Nice restaurants, comfortable rooms. Just across from the beach. Highly recommended.

Most everything was lovely except 1) the bathroom door wouldn’t slide open and I was suck in the bathroom and began to panic when I couldn’t get out. 2) our ocean view had a horrible rooftop right in front of our room that was more obvious than the ocean.

We love this hotel. We were there for New Year's Eve. The hotel was still beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The outdoor pool was heated. We will definitely stay their again.

Love the San Luis. The pool and hot tub are incredible. The spa is amazing. The food and service it outstanding. My only concern is that the prices seem to have exploded in the past 18 months. I know that's the case everywhere, and realize this is a high-end property, but do wish the room rates could be kept down and/or some discounts be offered at the spa or in the restaurants for those staying on property, or perhaps baked goods or coffees could be part of a type of all-inclusive package. It is possible we'll be priced out of this property in the near future.

Good overall. Not sure why they charge for self parking. I didn’t see any type of control or security. Also the back door to the hotel requires key entry which is good but the door is open most of the time and go straight to the elevators which don’t require key entry to the room floors. This could pose a security risk as anyone could potentially go in
