The worst experience ever! Do not stay here! After being on the road all day we were both very tired, the horrible experience started! The room next to us sounded like they were running a daycare. Kids screaming at the top of their lungs, hitting the walls, absolutely no parental guidance. I understand “it’s a hotel and things happen”, I assumed the kids would quiet down after 11:00PM, NOPE! Still making the worse noise ever! Screaming! The adult that was watching (if you want to call it that), would put her trash outside the door. People are definitely living here. Broken down vehicles in parking lot. Elevator needs serious work, you feel like it’s either going to start falling or just stop. This place smells like fast food and dirty people! Enough to make you throw up. The rooms were filthy! We left as soon as we could get a couple hours of sleep and get out of there.

I had a good stay at this hotel, especially given its ideal location just an hour from Mt. Rushmore. The bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed a quiet night’s rest. The unexpected toiletries, including body lotion, were a nice surprise. The 24-hour reception was convenient, and the on-site free parking was a plus. Breakfast was included, but it was limited to just coffee and cold cereals. However, with a supermarket and restaurants nearby in this small town, other options were easily accessible. Overall, a solid choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience in the area.

Do Not Stay Here! On its last legs. 2nd room, AC Did not work, toilet did not work properly, light in room did not work. Soap from previous guest still in shower, counter not cleaned well. Would not recommend this place. Main areas smelled. Breakfast is just cold cereal and some toast type items in a room with just two high top tables. If it was not so late in the day we would have moved on to another hotel and sacrificed our reservation. For what we paid I would have expected much better even in a tourist town.

The room was not the clean but outdated. Some of the lights did not work. The bathroom fan was very loud. Staff was not at front desk. We had to call & wait for someone to show up. Breakfast was only bagels, bread or cereal. One of the cereal dispensers did not work. The juice machine was broken & the out of order sign on it had obviously been there for a while.

Probably one of worst hotel stays anywhere. In advance I called to ask if they offered an AARP discount and was told yes. Upon arrival was told "No, not at this time." Advertises breakfast but offered only coffee - evidently owners didn't give access to purchasing by on-site people thus they couldn't even buy milk, they said. Water was tepid - just enough not to freeze to death in the shower but never got warm let alone hot. When I called front desk about a problem, they hung up on me. I was being nice, not nasty. We checked out 4 days early.

I've waited a bit to write this review. Keep in mind this hotel is a one-star hotel to start with. I was told, and a sign at registration indicated that the hotel had just changed ownership and were looking at making changes. That's a good thing if it happens. In no particular order, here is what we experienced. They were very short on staff. We were fine with collecting linens from the front desk for the four people that were in our room. Others may not be that interested in the doing the same. The hallways were tired and the stairwells were nasty. The room itself was OK in being reasonably cleaned. The facet in the bathroom was not attached well to the countertop so it would be challenging to turn on/off. One of the two beds was extremely squeaky. So much so that it interfered with sleeping. The curtains were also partially hanging from one corner. Overall, the folks there were pleasant enough and I would have helped them vacuum the halls and stairwells. It was a place that you want to see succeed; but it will take a good deal of work to get it on track. Best wishes for turning it around.

The floors were filthy, so bad they stained the bath mat when I went to wipe a spill. Things were so broken in the breakfast room there was no coffee, hot water or breakfast. Wouldn't stay here again even though location wasn't bad

The sign in the lobby says they'll be making upgrades and that they're understaffed. Wait until they're done! Hallways were dark. No stopper in the sink. Shower never got beyond luke warm. Burn holes in the thin blanket. On the bright side staff was friendly and the bare bones room was reasonably clean. No clue how this place has a rating of 4 out of 5.
