Our assessment of our 3 night stay at the Waldorf was mixed. The hotel was very nice and as a Diamond member we were upgraded to a castle view room. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were generally helpful. We did have a problem one night with the light fixture leaking water from the ceiling. This may have been due to a rainstorm one night and staff brought a bucket to catch the leaking water. The biggest problem, however, occurred after checkout. At the time of checkout I was told that the hotel printer wasn’t working so they would email me my receipt. Since all 3 nights were paid for with HH points I asked if there was a zero balance and was told yes. Later that day I received the final bill and was charged over $1,000 on my credit card for all three nights. I immediately called the hotel and was told by in house reservations staff that my reservation had been cancelled when I didn’t show up. I reminded them that we had been staying with them the last 3 nights and had no problem at checkin on the scheduled day. In fact I confirmed our arrival time several hours before checkin. So they didn’t know what the problem was but would talk to the reservations manager when they were free. In the meantime I called the Hilton diamond desk and again was told that someone had cancelled my stay with points and it had been rebooked by someone as a cash stay and they were not sure what the problem was. My points had even been put back onto my account by someone. By now I am a bit irritated. I finally receive a call back from the hotel reservation manager who tells me that the Waldorf had a computer glitch on our arrival date and that all hotel reservations had been cancelled and had to be manually reentered by hotel staff. However, Hilton hotels have no way to make reservations using points so they made them as a cash payment. Thereby the $1,000 bill. Now glitches are bound to occur sometimes. However, all of this angst could have been avoided by telling me at checkin about the problem and I could have immediately rebooked the room using points while standing at the front desk. The hotel did ultimately reverse the charges and apologize. However. this shouldn’t happen at a property like the Waldorf.

Welch fröhliche und hilfsbereite Rezeption Mitarbeiter, wirklich alle Mitarbeiter glücklich und genießen die Arbeit! Groß zu sehen. 1 Nachtstop, aber das Hotel war cool trendig und modern. Spotless sauber, ruhige Zimmer gab eine tolle Nacht Schlaf in einem komfortablen großen Bett. Dusche, Monson-Stil, waschte die Träume weg und aus zu einem anständigen Frühstück (Sausage ein touch blend). Untergrundswimm und Spa sah fantastisch aus und die Bar war großartig mit wunderschönem Pool Cue Sitzplatz. Parken Sie Auto eng und nur 15 Slots so nicht einfach. Andererseits würde ich ja zurückkommen.

Wir waren für 4 Tage in Edinburgh um diese tolle Stadt zu genießen. Hierfür buchten wir uns in diesem Hotel ein und wurden im 3.OG mit Blick aufs Castle belohnt. Wir hatte es nicht extra gebucht und waren natürlich froh drum. Nun zum Zimmer. Dieses wahr sauber, gut und großzügig eingerichtet. Badezimmer mit einer ebenerdigen und großen Dusche sowie einer Badewanne ausgestattet. Das Bett war ein Queensize und völlig zufriedenstellend. Bademantel, kleine Kapselkaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher und Föhn waren vorhanden. Kurze Anmerkung zum Frühstück. Alles sehr englisch gehalten und für uns war es in Ordnung. Wir würden dieses Hotel wieder buchen.

Für ein Hostel ist Code eher teuer aber das Geld definitiv wert, wenn man das Community feeling von einem Hostel einem privaten Zimmer im Hotel vorzieht. Das Hostel ist sehr sauber und die common areas sind gemütlich und den ganzen Tag durch belebt. Für 5£ kann man auch vor Ort Frühstücken. Das Hostel ist vom Bahnhof aus in wenigen Minuten erreichbar und hat eine super Lage gleich neben der belebten Royal Mile (trotzdem ist es nich zu laut am Abend). Die Pods geben genug Privatsphäre und die Wertsachen kann man im Zimmer in einen mit Code verschlossenen Schränkchen einschliessen (sogar mein riesen Koffer und Wanderrucksack hatten beide Platz). Das ganze Code Konzept finde ich allgemein sehr lustig. Beim Check-in bekommt man einen persönlichen Code, der sowohl für die Türe zum Hostel, als auch die Zimmertüre und das Schränklein im Zimmer öffnet. Die Mitarbeiter sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Whiskey tasting, welches in den unterirdischen Gängen des Hostels angeboten wird, kann ich auch nur empfehlen.

Wir waren Ende März für fünf Nächte im W Edinburgh zu Gast. Aufgrund unserer Upgrade Awards von Marriott Bonvoy erhielten wir ein Upgrade auf eine Suite. Wir konnten im Zimmer nichts missen, die Dusche mit Regendusche war sehr groß und im Kühlschrank konnten wir noch ein paar unserer Flaschen unterbringen. Kostenloses Wasser stand genug zur Verfügung und wurde jeden Tag aufgefüllt. Mit das wichtigste ist, dass wir wunderbar schlafen konnten dank des bequemen Bettes und der guten Schallisolierung. Ein Teil der nicht so gut funktionierte war jedoch, dass die Soundbars beim Fernseher teilweise mehrere Minuten brauchte bis der Ton wiedergegeben wurde. Das Frühstück gibt es nur ”a la carte” im zehnten Geschoss des Hauptgebäudes. Man hat von dort aus eine tolle Aussicht über Edinburgh und die Umgebung. Das Frühstück konnte uns jeden Tag überzeugen. Es wurde alles frisch zubereitet und schmeckte uns persönlich sehr gut. Besonders hervorzuheben war der Service, sei es beim Check-In beim Frühstück oder irgendwann zwischendurch. Jede Person im Haus war stets äußert freundlich, hilfsbereit und wir hatten immer das Gefühl hier machen die Menschen ihren Job mit Freude.

Ich habe ein Zimmer mit Kingsize-Bett zum gleichen Preis wie ein Zimmer mit Kingsize-Bett gebucht. Ich hatte das Glück, ein Zimmer mit einem Fenster mit Blick auf das Schloss zu bekommen. Es lag im 4. Stock und die Umgebung war sehr gut. Es gab 2 Flaschen kostenloses Mineralwasser und eine Kapselkaffeemaschine. Der Service war sehr gut. 👍

Stayed overnight at the Leonardo Hotel as we were hosting friends visiting from Pensilvania USA and all I can say is it was outstanding! From check in, special mention to Steve the Concierge (who diligently stored our bags and offered advice) to the welcome complimentary glass of Prosecco all of the staff were tentative and exceptionally friendly! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the restaurant for breakfast outstanding. All in all fantastic value for money and we would definitely recommend it!

The house is situated about 40 minutes walk from Princes Street. There are plenty of buses(£2) to catch and the bus stop is just opposite. We had one of the smaller rooms in the house - the room size was fine but not well laid out. There was only about 2 inches to get round the double bed to get to the other side, the sash window was very heavy and impossible to open. There was a very small couch - supposed to be a 2 seater, but really only sat 1 person. The other person then had to sit on the bed but couldn’t really see the TV and the TV was fixed. Our biggest gripe was that our room was billed with an en suite bathroom … but it was in fact down the passage way. Having not realised I would need a dressing gown this was problematic. Also there was at least one occasion when somebody else had used it. We knew before going that there was no breakfast provided so took Belvita breakfast biscuits and Scot’s porridge oats satchels that you just add water to. This worked well. Normal tea and coffee satchels are provided but not decaf or herbal teas. There is a small fridge downstairs which you can put a few bits in. The main house was decorated well and clean. We loved Edinburgh and did so many different things - a walking tour, afternoon tea at the Balmoral, a Highlands tour, Holyrood House, the castle, a whisky and gin experience, walk up Arthur’s Seat…. and one of our favourites- HMY Britannia at Leith - you can catch the team there.

Die Lage ist sehr gut, nur ein paar Schritte von der Straßenbahnhaltestelle entfernt und sehr ruhig, aber man kann die Stadt in 20 Minuten erreichen wird auch spät geöffnet. Es gibt nicht viele Frühstücksvarianten, aber es ist ausreichend. Auch die Sauberkeit ist gut. Auf dem Weg zum Hotel kann man einige Landschaften genießen, die sich vom Stadtzentrum unterscheiden (beliebte Sehenswürdigkeiten).

Das Zimmer ist gut, die Tür hat eine Landschaft, ist das Merkmal des Burghotels, der Service ist gut, die Zimmer sind gut hygienisch und der Raum ist groß. Das Zimmer ist sehr präzise und sehr emotional.
