Darlington East (Morton Park)

I've been at the Premier Inn for 8 months now, my last review was back in January. I said It then and I'll say it again, a big thank you to all the staff. The receptionists have always been very welcoming and ensure your looked after. The hotel provides a comfortable and clean environment and I'm still here. So another big thank you to Angela, Steph, Christine, Jay and all the other receptionists I don't know the names of, sorry, but thank you all.

What really makes these midweek trips to hotels for work is the staff. When I arrived Angela provided a warm welcome, took her time to check me in, arrange my breakfast booking and arrange my evening meal booking, all with a smile. Later, when I came back from dinner she asked if I enjoyed my meal. Small things make a big difference, great job Angela!

This was a perfect place to stay on our trip to Durham. The location was very easy to reach from the A1, there were plenty of parking spaces and it was right next to a retail park with Morrisons and McDs. We were warmly received by the very helpful receptionist. The room was spacious, the bed extremely comfortable and Wifi and tv great. The bathroom was super clean and the shower had great water pressure. The room was very quiet and we didn't hear any noise at all from other guests. I felt it was very reasonably priced and would definitely stay again.

Brilliant stay from arrival to departure. Lovely clean and cosy room and the reception team was brilliant especially Mark, he went above and beyond to make my stay magical.

I have recently had cause to stay at Morton Park on a number of occasions recently when visiting family who are unable to accommodate me. The staff are always friendly and make me feel welcome as well as feeling special. Thank you

Friendly helpful reception staff. Good clean rooms. The only small con was that we could slightly hear someone snoring in the next room, it didn't disturb our sleep.

So much of this hotel is good, especially the staff, but there were a couple of ******* that would have made it really good. Firstly, I had an adapted room as I am recovering from knee replacement surgery. The lower bed was perfect, but getting out of the bath after having a shower was virtually impossible! There are lots of hand rails to hold on to when getting in, but nothing to help getting out! If I had not been alone, I could have held onto my partner, but I did not fancy pulling the red cord to ask for assistance! I did finally manage it, but have never been so relieved to get out of the bath. Maybe an option in some rooms to have just a walk in shower rather than a bath might be a better option? Not necessarily in the adapted rooms which can be wet room style and which are not completely necessary for people with less limiting problems. Also, I paid £5 for internet coverage, this never worked, my iPad just kept saying ‘something went wrong, please try again’. Not sure how this can be rectified. Overall though I enjoyed my stay, and definitely provided an anecdote to tell my children, who both replied ‘tell me you didn’t!’ before I got to the end of it!

Friendly welcome, nice quiet room with a comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. I liked the recycling initiative, to leave things by the side of the bin if they could be recycled. Self checkout was good as I had an early start.

After a 5 hour drive, the warm welcome and amazing customer service from Christine on reception was wonderful. This lady is worth her weight in gold and deserves a huge shoutout. Being offered a free can of Guinness as it is St Patrick’s Day was also a lovely touch! Christine then kindly offered to book my table at the adjoining Beefeater, for dinner, to ensure it was reserved for me and I didn’t have to wait. Loads of parking space at the hotel, fabulously clean room and super quiet area.
