Grand Cempaka Business Hotel

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in This hotel is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Hotel management and English speaking associates are non present. The cleanliness of the entire place is just devastating on all levels from unattended public areas, room cleanliness and general hygiene. The rooms are filthy, bed sheets don’t fit and have stains and smell, bathroom is very dirty, stains on towels, AC vents are black, left overs from previous hotel guests, cockroaches everywhere and so on. There are also some safety hazards, rooms doors don’t automatically close, elevator doors just slam even something is between, associate trying to enter my room with master key at 22.15 but I had door lock. I had to spend my birthday in there due to isolation and my friends sent me a cake. I asked them to refrigerate them overnight as it couldn’t fit in the minibar which is disgustingly dirty as well. When they brought me the cake the next day it was melted away and was not in the fridge as requested. Didn’t even bother to try the food - opening the box and small wing this was enough. I’m living since 8 years in Asia and have never experienced anything like that. I felt sorry for all the associates which are totally left alone without management, training or supervision on very basic things like personal hygiene. Here are some tips: Order food with grab / Gojek and pick up at lobby (don’t bother asking that someone brings it up) Try to bring personal hygiene articles before you arrive and If possible cleaning utensils Bring vitamins and supplements Spent as much time by the pool to get fresh air (this is the only good thing, one can go outside) Be early for the PCR tests or doctors visit Set yourself a daily routine to have some sort of normality

If you’re here, I hope to God it’s because you had no choice. You tested positive with COVID upon arrival to Jakarta and has to come here for isolation. Even then, for Rp 1.9 mil PER DAY, it is bend over and … time. You know what I’m talking about in a minute. First off, the bedsheet doesn’t fit the bed (see picture). Really??? 2nd, there are little cockroaches (see pictures). Really??? Third, the isolation meal really..really..really.. sucks! You’ll get this box meal fit for a 3rd grader. Filled with small sizes food items. 1 tbs of rendang (not a typo. 1 tbs), a small bowl size rice, 1 tbs of corn & green beans, 1 tsp of acar, 1 piece of fried tofu or 1 chicken leg. All… served COLD! With a flimsy plastic fork and spoon that are useless. I asked if room service can warm up these foods for me since the room DOESN’T include a microwave. They said “sorry, no. If you want hot food, you’ll have to order room service.”. Which.. I had to ask TWICE for a menu. Fourth, the towels were old and tired looking. Fifth: finally have a menu, tried to order nasi goreng ikan teri from the menu - sorry, we don’t have ikan teri. How about seafood fried rice on the menu then? - oh sorry, we don’t have that either. Ok…. I’d like black coffee and fresh orange juice. Sorry, the only coffee we have is instant, and oj is in a bottle. Settled for fried chicken & rice. At least they were warm. In case you’re all saying I’m just too picky or onery, I left another quarantine hotel that charges almost the exact same amount, but I received a 3 course meal (hot meal) on a real plate and real utensils, hot coffee and real juices of variety. So, this is NOT all hotel or COVID problem. This is Grand Cempaka problem. Yes I’m upset. This is a disrespectful, opportunistic and down right crappy place of business. Is there a no star option for a review? 😡
