deshalb habe ich für Ende dieses Jahr gleich wieder reserviert! Erstens (da ich allein reisend war): Die Lage ist perfekt, der Strand, der Supermarkt, die Bank, die Bushaltestelle sowie Bars und Restaurants sind in wenigen Schritten erreichbar. Außerdem habe ich mich von Anfang an sicher gefühlt. Zweitens (da ich von dort auch gearbeitet habe): Marvin ist ein wunderbarer hilfsbereiter Gastgeber! Er stand mir bereits vor und auch während meines Aufenthalts jeder Zeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, war immer erreichbar und hat meine Fragen sofort beantwortet. Dank der guten Internetverbindung konnte ich ohne Probleme online arbeiten. Drittens: Die Zimmer sind sauber und mit allem was man braucht ausgestattet (bis hin zu Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen ;-). Das Bett ist groß und sehr bequem, von der Terrasse aus hat man einen tollen Ausblick und es war toll, die vielen Kolibris täglich zu beobachten. Viertens: In der Bar konnte ich viele Freundschaften schließen und sehr entspannte Abende verbringen. Fünftens: Ich freue mich jetzt schon aufs nächste Mal, Danke dir Marvin!

Mein Mann Uli und ich haben den ganzen März 24 bei Marvin verbracht und haben gleich wieder für November 2024 3 Monate gebucht. Marvin ist ein toller und sehr entspannter Gastgeber. Besonders gefallen hat mir das Kingsize Bett mit einer super Matratze. Auch die Bar unter dem Apartment war immer ein wenig wie unser „Wohnzimmer“, wir haben dort Karten gespielt und gequatscht. Wir haben uns einfach sehr willkommen gefühlt. Und daher: Jederzeit wieder!

Die Unterkunft ist schrecklich. Immer Krach von der Gaststätte unter einem. Am Schlimmsten war das Jaulen des Hundes im Garten hinter dem Haus. Er war den ganzen Tag in einer engen Box eingesperrt. Hatte null Auslauf. Wenn man bei dem Besitzer Marvin intervenierte wurde man bedroht, das ginge einem nichts an. Bei einem Tierquäler zu übernachten, würde ich nie mehr machen. Von dieser Unterkunft kann ich nur abraten.

Friendly, great location close to everything and a dream host! I love this self contained apartments upstairs from Marvins bar. It is private, clean and close to everything. At the same time you can be a part of the village life as soon as you step out on the balcony. We love it here and have staayef here over 10 times over the years.

My husband Uli and I spent the whole of March 24 with Marvin and immediately booked another 3 months for November 2024. Marvin is a great and very relaxed host. I particularly liked the king-size bed with a great mattress. The bar under the apartment was also always a bit like our "living room" - we played cards and chatted there. We just felt very welcome. And so: We would go back anytime!

Whenever I am in Castara I stay here, trips ranging from 15 nights to a very lovely 6 week stay. Contrary to the 2 star review this has not been my experience at all which is why I come back time and again. Marvin (the owner) is the nicest man you’ll ever meet and takes great care and attention of all his guests, even offering food when he cooks for the local guys. Jamieon who works the bar is the same, I have always found him smiling and laughing and has offer to take my trash and my cases for me. The apartments are cleaned and changed 3 times a week, have fully equipped kitchens. If I have ever had a problem, leaking shower once I mentioned to Marvin on my way to the beach in the morning and it was fixed by the time I came back later in the day. Rooms have a very large king bed, hanging space, table and chairs plus shower sink and toilet in the bathroom, fresh linens and towels are provided. Shared balcony with the other apartment which has a sofa and again table and chairs, it’s a great way to meet other guests, when I stayed in January myself and the girl in the apartment next door shared food and cooked for each other, what’s not to like. I will always stay here when visiting Castara.

These apartments are located right in the centre of Castara, the absolute gem of Tobago! I have been visiting the island for almost 13 years, having stayed in several locations, but the one that I now always return to for my stay, is Castara - more specifically, C&K Apartments. These self contained studio apartments have all you need for your stay - a super king size bed, en-suite shower, TV with wifi connections for apps such as Netflix, a kitchenette (cooker/stove/microwave/large fridge) and a shared balcony with the other apartment next door, looking down to the beach with amazing views of the sunset! Being located on the bay road that leads to the beach, you get to observe the daily life of the village going past each day. Marvins has been a wonderful host and become a great friend over the years. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do to ensure his guests have the best experience whilst staying with him! The bar downstairs is usually a relaxed atmosphere, with the occasional football match being shown on the TV. Some weeks a karaoke night will be scheduled- this is always a fun evening and doesn’t disturb you if you choose to remain upstairs! The village also hosts a bonfire night on the big beach each Thursday, an African drumming evening on the little beach each Wednesday and a steel pan and BBQ at Chino’s cafe on a Sunday. Recently Marvin has started to encourage hummingbirds to the bar downstairs and the upstairs balcony with sugar water feeders, and they will spend all day back and forth between the two. Marvin also has the sweetest dog who may adopt you for your stay! She is great company to the beach or the nearby waterfall (my favourite spot in the village) which is about 10-15 minutes walk along the river. The beach is but a 30 second stroll away, as well as the grocery store, beach bar and local restaurants that serve daily. If you are looking for an authentic Caribbean experience, Castara is the best place to become fully immersed in the local culture. This warm, welcoming and vibrant little fishing village will hopefully steal your heart just as much as it has mine and many other returning visitors ☺️

Marvin's apartments are above a quiet bar in the middle of Castara village. It is the perfect location. The views of the sea and the village are superb. Hummingbirds galore on the feeder, sounds of calypso music floating on the air and a cool beer available from downstairs when you need it. Marvin and his lovely Mum Phyllis, are there whenever you need anything and Castara feels safe and welcoming, even for a solo female traveller. Can't recommend highly enough.

There are two apartments available and the host Marvin can add in additional bedding for families, the rooms are spacious and very well equipped with large refrigerators, cooker with hob and oven and microwave. Cutlery, pans everything you could need. Bathroom has a sizeable shower in it, Marvin take great pride in ensuring his guests are well looked after. Although these are above the bar he owns you don’t get disturbed, in facet it’s the opposite from the balcony you are ideally placed to be immersed in village live and with such friendly villagers you will be welcomed and even the odd gift of mangoes brought to you. Castara itself is a beautiful little fishing village with glorious beaches, some great places to eat, well stocked shops (DJs opposite and larger supermarket 2 minute walk), plenty going one. Take a walk to the waterfall across the playing field, enjoy the beach bonfire party night on a Thursday, chill and watch the fisherman pulling in the nets. If in doubt ask Marvin, he’s always on hand to assist. I would definitely recommend staying here.
