Ibis Budget Bromsgrove

What a stress. Booked months ago. Received confirmation on Monday for Friday night. 5 rooms booked for colleague reunion. Arrive late afternoon to be met by security guards. No longer a hotel, now a hostel. ********** did a good job in sprting a much better hotel so they did all the could. IBIS.... taking the money and forgetting that they willl still need customers once the govt stops paying them money.

A basic hotel, which is simply a place to get your head down. The beds were uncomfortable, but at least they had hot water.

Receptionist on arrival was first class. Friendly efficient helpful and very instructive. Rooms okay - on top floor with only velux window. Has to close the window as it was letting in rain - not other means of ventilation.

The bedroom was dated and very shabby. The bathroom had definitely seen better days In the morning I had 5 insect bites suggested on check out they needed to check the room for bugs. Would not stay here again!

The place was clean with good facilities. The main fault was squeaky floorboard especially when the next room decides to walk about all night.

On oir first night of our 2 night stay, we had a single bed without a matress, in a family room which sleeps 3. I asked for a mattress, and I was informed by the receptionist that the bed frame is all I would be afforded as IBis was a budget hotel ( their words). As this was painful to sleep on, on the second night a different receptionist managed to find us a single bed with a mattress in our room for 3. Secondly, ine of our rooms was not cleaned, the bed was not made up and uaed towels were left on the bed. This was disappointing indeed.

Location perfect for the train Parking free The bed was comfortable Shower was faulty in that the thermostatic control was stuck on max heat Bath ok Unfortunately no other rooms were available Breakfast was a takeaway bag from reception so two seats in your room would be helpful Not stayed budget Ibis before so not sure how it compared but overall it was ok

Conveniently located for train station & Rugby club. About a mile walk into town or 52 & 52A buses go from nearby. Couple of restaurants and good pub (Ladybird) very close by and Co-op store for snacks/drinks also within a couple of minutes.

My stay was purely for a bed for the night. When trying to book over the phone originally at 10pm, a lady picked up, rambled some words I could not understand and hung up on me. I then tried to call back but sent me to an EE answerphone (i was confused). I tried once more and she did apologise but she was serving someone. Even though a bugdet hotel I'd expect cleanliness. I pulled the sheets back from the bed and underneath was full of hairs, this was offputting. Even though an unmodern bathroom, the bath with shower had only what i thought look like a piece of wallpaper laid down as a slip mat - very strange and not very hygenic. Other than that, it was an ok basic stay, bed was comfy.
