Mackaya Bella Guesthouse has the most comfortable and clean beds with a nice view of the immaculate garden. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Nicki and Mike are incredible hosts. Thanks for being gracious. Cheers!

We had a very nice time in Durban-largely thanks to Nicki and her husband. We’re from the US but living in Cape Town for 3 months for work and took a weekend getaway to Durban. The guesthouse was a lovely base for the weekend - comfortable and roomy, with excellent breakfasts! In particular, however, the advice from Nicki on places to eat, places to visit, and getting around safely was invaluable. So much online about Durban is out of date, having a knowledgeable, trusted advisor like Nicki is a necessity. Plus, she and her husband are absolutely lovely people!

What a wonderful stay I had at Mackaya Bella. Nicki and Mike are most gracious hosts who have created a wonderful little oasis. It really felt like a home away from home and since it was a working holiday for me, it was lovely to come back to such a warm and welcoming space. Will definitely be back, it's now a firm favourite spot. Special mention to the wonderful Sli and her delicous daily breakfasts.

Charming guesthouse with cosy rooms, delightful hosts, and outstanding breakfasts. A perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway. The driveway is typically Durban, which may be a little bit narrow for a large car.

We know Durban well, have stayed here before and will do so again. We give top ratings in every department but outsiders should know that you must have a car because it is in a residential area with no shops or restaurants close by. The owners are on site and super friendly and energetic. Breakfast is great.

Awesome experience. Nicki and Mike were gracious hosts. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well presented. breakfast on the veranda was excellent. I would stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality... remember to give Tigger the cat a piece of bacon.....
