Hotel Gala Placidia

it is nice hotel just very basic. We had a non pool facing room so we looked out onto the street and next door apartments. The room had no kettle or fridge so if you wanted to keep anything in your room you couldnt. We only stayed bed and breakfast so we had no issue with the food every day it was filling and tasty. so long as you are not staying there all day, we were going out straight after breakfast and staying out most of the day coming back getting showered snd changed then going back out so we had no real issues there. The only thing that bugged me was the walks were so thin we could hear a lot of our neighbours and the people who were noisy in the hallway. All the staff were fantastic

Location is OK, it's a bit of a walk to the busiest parts of town. I had a taxi home most nights. Not because I'm lazy but Benidorm late at night is a bit rough. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. I got along well with all the staff at the hotel. Others in my group however had issues with rudeness from bar staff. The problem is the token system they have, they are quite strict with it, you must return either a cup or token when you want another. All it means is you can't relax, for example your friend / partner hasn't quite finished their drink, so you cannot get another for them at the same time you get one. It's almost as if you're treated like children. This kind of treatment creates a bit of a strange atmosphere. I found the drinks to be fine. Better than I was expecting for the price paid. The beers were nice, they also had some cocktails included in the all inclusive. The food is average at best. I mainly stuck to the pasta and salad as the main courses weren't up to much. Sleep: I didn't have much rest at this hotel. I didn't find the beds comfortable and it was quite noisy - just in general. Not so much drunk people shouting down corridors, in fact in this respect it was actually quite a quiet hotel. But the majority of the noise was from the streets, the building work going on nearby, just constant noise. I think the best place to sleep is on the sun loungers after lunch and beers. Cleanliness - The hotel was clean. I didn't particularly like the strong smell of the cleaning products used on the floors, it made me feel quite queasy, you could smell it through the corridor door it was that strong. Would I return to this hotel? No. I didn't feel it ticked enough boxes in terms of entertainment, food quality, location. The reception staff and cleaning staff are very friendly and are a credit to this hotel.

I scored a four for this hotel due to the bar staff! everything else about the hotel was great. Drinks are good and food was good just one tiny criticism some of the bar staff need to cheer up and try and be polite!! One of the guys on the indoor bar was great with us but the rest so rude!! We was a party of 11 girls staying for 4 nights we all enjoyed the food always something you liked the rooms are clean we had fresh towels everyday to be fair couldn't find anything else to fault! Would definitely stay again!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are perfect buffets. Bathroom is good. Swimming pool areas (one area with swimming pool bar) are cleaned every single day. Rooms are not too big but well maintained and cleaned every day. Bar is opened till midnight and the do entertainment that at least to me feels a bit old fashioned but hey, it's Benidorm. The only major minus is that the rooms are noisy as hell but maybe it depends on the neighbours you get. We met neighbours above us that started moving furniture at night and that woke us up. Female neighbours next to us came back in every night at 3am being loud. Conversations could be followed easily. That woke us up. So if your life depends on a good night's sleep than you might need to think twice before you come.

Just had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Lovely food, lovely clean rooms and really helpful staff when it came to organising a late check out. Shout out to Gloria on the entertainment side of things. Just soooo happy and friendly. 😀 Great choice of drinks and lovely pools.

Rooms clean and well maintained. Food acceptable but worst coffee i have ever tasted. Staff quite rude and will always serve spanish people first. Large Pool and pool bar close at 6pm, ushered out at 5:50pm on 9/4/24 by dark haired staff member who was aggressive and very rude telling people to go leaving guests to rush to grab their belongings while she continued to shout for us all to leave. Watched from balcony as another staff member slept outside to staff quarters on a lounger next to dustbins for 2-3hrs??? Clearly having a siesta!! Lifts very clonky and only fit 2 people. Be very careful when coming back to the hotel in the early hours as it seems the road leading to the hotel is abit of a hotspot for muggings and pickpockets(3 people had fallen pray to these people during our 4day stay). Drinks are plentiful but only local spirits included with all inclusive and maximum of two drinks at one time, evening barsaff were really nice, entertainment though was poor! Would probably not return to be honest!! Also despite advertising no stag or hens there was actually quite a few large groups staying in hotel on stag holidays. Quite noisy in the early mornings and if you are unlucky enough to have a room near the lifts you will be woken up alot!

This is a excellent hotel don't read the bad reviews very near to everything you need lovely staff food was excellent rooms very good cleaned every day to a high standard only thing we found was no fridge in the room definitely stay again the staff were very friendly my husband was 60 when we where there bottle of champagne in room with cakes and a card from all the staff

Had a four night stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend for a short break. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. There is no tea and coffee making facilities in rooms but apart from that it's great! Really friendly helpful staff who were very accommodating. Close to main town but away from the noise if you want a break. Great local bars, restaurants and plenty of entertainment on the door step. And nice hour (ish!) Walk along the beach which takes you in to the old town which is not so raucous! Food in the all inclusive package is OK, not the best but for the price, its certainly good value, even if you just had one meal a day and the drinks, which were perfectly OK. Overall, great value for money if you're looking for a cheap break away for a few days.

Hotel is clean and most of the staff are friendly enough. The reason for the two star review however is because out of 11 nights we spent at this hotel we only had 2 nights of uninterrupted sleep. It seems that the hotel is popular with stag and hen parties. Almost every night we were subjected to hours of screaming, arguing and fighting between 2:30am and 8am almost every night. Now I understand it’s Benidorm and it’s party central but after a few nights of no sleep we would end up at reception to complain and asking for security to intervene and stop the partying in rooms to be greeted with a shrug of tbe shoulders gesturing “what can I do”. So unless you are there to party all night and sleep all day, steer clear of this place. I will add though that it’s a budget hotel and for what you pay the amenities and the food is ok ( you get what you pay for) if you want to sleep maybe this is not the place for you.
