Hotel Centrale Bellagio

My four Friends and I have just spent 4 nights here- such a lovely central traditional Italian family run Hotel. The rooms were spotless with really comfy beds. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. All the Staff were friendly and very helpful. Plenty of Restaurant's and shops to choose from on the doorstep with the Lakeside a few minutes away, all be it down quite a few steps- but this all adds to the beauty and character of Bellagio. There’s only one small negative point which was the soundproofing of the Bedrooms wasn’t too good.

Great location, although as with most places in Bellagio it is up some steps…..but not too many. The staff were thoroughly lovely and made me feel really welcome right from the start. It was like staying with friends. The room was very traditional in style but clean and quiet and in a great spot for exploring Bellagio. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and the breakfast was fab!

We loved our stay at the Hotel Centrale Bellagio. The location is perfect, the people (and Ramone, the hotel dog) are so incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the setting is beautiful! Can’t wait to return someday.

This hotel is the definition of gracious hospitality! It was our 3rd stay here, we return because it is beautiful, relaxing, and so convenient to the sites in Bellagio. The garden is beautiful with many flowers and smells of jasmine. there are 2 patios, one outside entrance and one a level up with tables, chairs, and flowering plants & citrus…delightful…perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine…they’ll happily provide your glasses. The owners Michele & wife Elizabeth speak English and are so helpful with any question we have. the breakfast provided either inside or in garden is top notch along with great coffee drinks. I highly recommend a stay here!

I am quite late in writing this review, as I stayed at Hotel Centrale in late October 2022, just one day before they closed for the season. However, the hospitality and charm of this hotel has stayed with me throughout the winter season and I want to give credit where credit is due and thank them for a wonderful one-night stay. When I arrived at the hotel, I was immediately greeted by Ramón, the cheerful black Labrador Retriever who clearly is boss. From the ivy-covered entryway to the flower-and-tree-filled courtyard, I immediately felt transported to a serene place despite how “touristy” Bellagio can feel. Hotel Centrale is operated by a family and so it’s easy to feel welcomed, both in communication with them in advance of your stay (book directly for good prices and service!) and once you have checked in. Since I was one of only a few guests there, they assigned me their best single room, which included a small balcony that overlooked the courtyard. In the evening I received a wonderful recommendation for a pizzeria (Antico Pozzo – there was a line outside before they opened which included plenty of Italians, so I knew it would be delicious!). The next morning, I enjoyed a simple but tasty breakfast with handmade espresso. Everything was clean and comfortable, and when it was time to leave, I didn’t want to board the ferry for my next destination, Como. It was a special experience to chat with the family about their gorgeous village as the tourism season winded down. I can’t wait to return to Lake Como sometime soon, and when I do, I absolutely will stay here again. It’s a small paradise in a busy place, operated with love (and occasional barks).

We just returned from Hotel Centrale this week. We were so impressed by this hotel! We had a generous breakfast buffet included, our room had a veranda that we sat on every night, staff especially Elizabeth were extremely helpful with directions and booking ferry tickets. We are hoping to return to Italy within 2 yrs and will definitely stay at Hotel Centrale again!

This property is central to everything but it is in the middle of a hill. Sixty three steps from the waterfront and a steep incline to the top where the shopping and some restaurants are. You have to temporarily park (15 minutes) at the top where the church is located to unload your luggage and run it down the hill to the property. Then you have to find a parking space which can be a hike away. We went out late at night to find a free spot(white lines) so we would not have to pay during the next day (blue lines). All parking is free at night. Not a good choice for the elderly.

I feel as though other reviewers have said it all. Our home on Lake Como for just under a week, the Centrale proved to be a haven of calm, good manners and helpfulness in the heart of bustling Bellagio. Michael – who must have the biggest, most welcoming smile in Lombardy – and Elisabeth were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Their grace and good cheer warmed our hearts, epitomizing what makes the family-run hotels of Central Europe so very special. We'll be back!
