Barcelona Apartment Val

Bathroom was smelly, kitchen appliances were old and dirty, apartment was dark, and there was no AC in the small bedroom.

Most flights arrive in the morning and they will check you in to apartment by 3pm. I sent request which they promised to consider but no result. I arrived at 10 am and got apartment after 3pm. Found no courtesy to offer a cup of coffee or a drink after an14 hr flight. They treat an apartment booking like a hotel room booking but dint service it like hotel. I will not recommend.

Amazing place ! Strongly recommended for 6 people - very beautiful apartment with 3 double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, 15 min walk from La Rambla. 3 min walk from all big shops.

We spent 5 nights at The Val Apartments and here is our honest review. Let’s start with positives. - great location. Super central and lots of eating options nearby. - Huge size. We stayed in a 3 bedroom/3 bath apartment and it was 1,200 sq ft. - Responsive staff (for the most part) - Free access to the Egyptian museum next door Negatives: - the apartment needs major maintenance. It is slowly falling apart. The washing machine leaked all over the kitchen floor. They did send a person to clean it, left extra towels for future water leakage and came to fix it next day. Can’t vouch if it was fixed as we didn’t do any laundry again. It has water damage all around it so clearly it has been leaking for a while. - The dryer didn’t work. We spent almost 2 hrs trying to dry our clothes on different settings but it would not dry. They took it away the next day so clearly it couldn’t be fixed. They did provide a drying rack the next day upon our request - 3rd bedroom didn’t have any AC. It wasn’t usable without AC. This important detail wasn’t clear in the description when we booked. Otherwise we would have gone with a 2 bedroom apartment and paid less. - AC in the master bedroom was making lots of weird noise. I am a light sleeper and basically didn’t sleep for 5 nights. - AC in the second bedroom didn’t work well. They came to fix it and it worked better after that. - Shower in the master bathroom didn’t drain well. It would basically flood after 20 seconds shower and spill over the floor (shower wasn’t fully enclosed) - There was a broken light in the dining room. They fixed it upon our request - The light in the living room was going on and off. They fixed it as well. - I would check the apartment for mold. It smelled wet and my asthma/allergy flared up during our stay. - No blackout curtains in bedrooms (hard with little kids) I hate writing such a negative review but I feel compelled to share our honest experience with other travellers. We travel a lot. We love Barcelona and this won’t be our last time but we won’t be staying here again, that’s for sure.

The apartment was lovely. Great size and location. But. We felt like less valuable guests as we had an apartment and other hotel guests were being offered cava when they arrived to check in but not us! There was no double bed in the apartment, the description clearly said there was and the photo showed that there was too. Supplies were minimal - 1 dishwasher tablet, 1 bin bag, 2 coffee sachets, 2 tea bags, no coffee pods. No kettle, extractor fan broken and no reply from reception when enquiring about the pool times.

This apartment is beautiful and took our breath away when we walked in. Our family of four had more space than we needed - the apartment is very large and comfortable. Great location, good amenities, the check-in process was a bit much, but otherwise the staff were kind and helpful. We’d go back!

The apartment is perfectly located at the heart of the shopping street! Which there’s plenty of restaurants, pharmacies and groceries nearby almost on every corner. We were a group of four friends and the staff at Hotel Claris are super helpful and gave us 5* service. The apartment itself is very big, its an old vibe high ceiling apartment with a modern touch, instagrammable balconies is a huge plus!! I loved everything and I definitely recomment this place specially on winter time like december when the weather is perfect and less crowded. I would love to comeback and stay here again next time.

Very good location, close to many attractions, metro station, train station, shopping and many good restaurants. The apartment 2 Bed 2 Bathroom with kitchen, comfortable and clean. The building is old but nicely remodeled. The bathrooms need some repair work but didn't bother us much. Overall very happy with this apartment and will consider it first if come to Barcelona again.
