The staff were nice enough, but ufortunately I arrived on a day where they were really behind on room cleaning. I called ahead and they said they would likely have a room available early, despite them knowing they were behind on cleaning. I arrived at 2 (check in is at 4). They said something would come available in about an hour and they would call when it was, I was hanging out on the property anyway, but I watched other people in king rooms also get checked in one by one, and they apologized over and over again when I asked about it. They kept saying “oh, those people took the last clean king room” They kept saying 5-10 minutes, but ultimately I wasn’t checked in until about 5:05pm. I was pretty disappointed, and said as much - asked if there was anything they could do to make up for it, but they said there was nothing they could do. I didn’t make a huge stink about it, to add insult to injury, I had booked so far in advance apparently a new tax that Texas had been imposed, and wasn’t on my bill, so they told me they had to add an additional charge after having waited an hour after their check-in and two hours from when they said they could probably get me in a room, so it just kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.
That same night an alarm went off in the hallway at 4 AM waking everybody up, which is nobody’s fault but just another unfortunate thing to have happen. I was there for a business trip and I stayed four nights, I definitely don’t think I will stay again, but it wasn’t the worst either.
A lot of the unfortunate events were just random, I hope. But I didn’t love it enough to recommend it to anyone.
