Nice place to stay while travelling in The Lake District. Very clean, warm and welcoming pub with a great fish and chips!

Friendly staff, lovely decor, tasty breakfast. However flies in bathroom (dead and alive) and a few cobwebs and dust in room. Nothing terrible but felt it could have been a bit cleaner for price.

the staff at the hotel were friendly, helpful and polite over our entire stay the breakfasts were very good as were the evening meals always arrived quite quickly and lovely and hot - our room was comfortable and warm - was a wonderful xmas break and we would definitely stay again - thank you!!

What a nice place! Note that this hotel is not directly on the water but just up the hill from the lake. The property was beautiful, the staff very friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable and the food excellent. Note that the check in is in the restaurant at the bottom of the hill and across the street. I would definitely stay at this property if in the area again.

I gave 5 stars, but not for the Lakehouse at the Waterhead Inn. We arrived there to find no way to get in and waited for 15 minutes in torrential rain wondering what to do. We then walked down the hill to the Waterhead Inn itself to find that the Lakehouse was not actually open, despite being offered on ******* and despite booking it! We were however very pleased to be offered a room at the Waterhead Inn instead, and at the same price of £109. The Waterhead Inn is excellent, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are brand new and impeccable, and the breakfast, which was included in the price, was superb and worth half the price of the room alone. The Waterhead Inn is far better than some hotels costing significantly more.

Basically a nice hotel. A few things could be improved:
There is no storage space for things in the bathroom. Lack of hooks or bars to hang bathroom towels. The save was not functional. The room made a newly renovated impression, but unfortunately with the above missing details.

A little out dated and better places in Ambleside for same price.
Stayed at Lakehouse, you check in at the Imn over road but no where tells you this in booking or on door or lakehouse. No direct phone number to bar/ reception from room so when we didn't have any towels we had to ring through generic Inns Collection. Towels provided quickly. Radiator valve fallen off in bathroom so no way to adjust heat in there. Staff were polite and keen to help. Breakfast was ok, had hoped for better.

Great location, just overlooking the lake . The hotel is good but without any outstanding or unusual characteristics. Food is average . Service levels are mediocre and often more lip service than any attempt to help . The breakfast was substantial. Is it worth a stay? Yes , primarily for the location
