The Alexandrian Old Town Alexandria, Autograph Collection

I am glad I didn’t pay full price ($350/night) for this. Great location and everything looks nice from the outside and the lobby. The room is decent from the looks but once you stay in there, you will realized nothing is working properly. The AC/Heater was not working, the control for the AC/Heater doesn’t work so the AC was blasting cold air all night on NYE!!! So we were both freezing and it was 2am! The TV only have 5 channels and 2 are the same as the other 2, so in reality only 3 channels. The TV quality is also very outdated. Feel like we were watching TV from the 80s/90s when it was the actual 2024 NYE concerts. And on the 5th channel, it is just showing how DirectTV subscription is expired, like what? The Wifi in the room is not free unless you are a Bonvoy member. There was less than a quarter roll of toilet paper on the Tp dispenser and they also didn’t provide a second roll. The body wash pump was empty and the shampoo ran out. The bottom side of the toilet seat looks very filthy as if they haven’t clean that part of the toilet seat in a while. The floor of the bathroom was also very dirty. We usually check if we can ask for a late check-out the night before, but we called the front desk with no answers. When they finally answered, they said we have to call back at 7am to let us know. Ehh Hello? The whole point of getting a late check out is so we can sleep in? So I had to set an alarm to call back at 7am to get a 1pm check out. It was a bit annoying. This was a big disappointment for me because this was supposed to be a nice hotel from Marriott as the Autograph Collection. Especially for $350 a night in the middle of Old Town Alexandria, I had expected better quality. Not to mention the chaos during check-in. Seems like there were only 4 workers there for HUNDReDs of customer. People were angry about being stuck in the parking garage and no one can help them and they gave a lady a room that currently already have someone checked-in. Apparently the lady opened the door when the guy was showering in the room. What a chaos!

December 31st reservations. Upon arriving at the hotel parking garage we discovered there was absolutely NO vacant parking spaces. We learned that free public fireworks were taking place and that people watching the fireworks with no hotel reservations were using parking spaces intended for hotel guests. It was more than disappointing. Other than that our hotel stay was excellent.

Starting to charge mandatory “credit” for food at restaurant, etc. I find that very off-putting. Since I travel their for work often I think I’ll have to find another place. They’ve consistently gone downhill in my opinion over the past few years.

On the second night of our stay we had an issue with the dogs that were in the room next to ours. We returned from dinner to barking that we figured would stop over time. After an hour and a half, contacted the front desk and were told they would try to contact the occupants. An hour later my husband went to the staff at the front desk and was told they had not heard from occupants. Forty five minutes later, at 10:15pm I went to the front desk and was told they had tried the contact numbers for the occupants, got voicemails, left messages but they were being ignored. I told the staff that I either needed a different room or we were leaving, we would not be able to sleep due to the dogs. The staff found us another room, and at 10:30 at night we packed up all our stuff and moved. The dogs clearly had separation anxiety and their owners who were out for the evening , leaving the TV on to console the dogs, were inconsiderate of other guests

This is very very basic hotel with limit services .. rooms on king street side was extremely noisy could hear everything from street .. diff need to update windows and also the heat/air units unreal loud … also do not use hotel parking as lot bossier hotel only $10 per day .. street park east also ..

Great location. It has charm. Not sure why some of the negative reviews about it.

Staff was very unhelpful. Hotel was a tad bit overpriced for the size of the room and amenities.

This is our third stay here right in the middle of King Street short walk to everything! We were here for our Anniversary for one night room was nice size with balcony only complaint was the ac/heat it was extremely loud when it came on enough to wake you up ended up turning it off.

Nothing was unique about the room. Pillows were uncomfortable. Perhaps replace w My Pillow.
