We arrived early due to flight time and expected to have to drop off bags, then wait til afternoon for official check-in, but luckily they had a room available so we were able to check-in early. We were on the 10th floor with a great view of Recoleta. Staff was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, helping to arrange cabs, ordering food delivery on the night we were too exhausted after a day of sight-seeing to venture out again for dinner. A good breakfast buffet every morning, although it would have been nice to have coffee/hot water available at other hours, too. With only three rooms on our floor, it had the cozy feel of a boutique hotel.

This is a perfect option when staying in Buenos Aires and wanting to explore the city. It is a safe and upmarket area of the city. The hotel has history and charm, and the location in Recoleta is great. As usual, though, it is the staff at Melia hotels who turn a stay from good to great, and this hotel is no exception. Before I arrived, I had quite a lot of questions, and they were answered quickly and efficiently by Snr Mansilla, who is clearly a consummate hospitality professional who understands his customers. However, all of the staff are polite, friendly, and helpful. A big plus of the hotel is the lovely jazz club in the basement, which has a great atmosphere. Overall, when I come back to Buenos Aires, as I surely will, this is the hotel I will stay at without looking any further afield. It ticks all the boxes. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Dieses Hotel ist eines der schönsten von Ba, der Goldplatz ist. The Mio Buenos Aires is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. We travel extensively. This was our first time to BA. Our Spanish is rusty to say the least. The Hotel Staff was amazing. From breakfast, helping with reservations, taxi's and translating! The massage was wonderful and easy to arrange. The heated pool was so relaxing. We had dinner in the hotel twice and the food was really good. The area is walkable and safe. Lots of shopping and sightseeing near by. The hotel room was HUGE! The bed was comfy and the shower was hot. Nespresso coffee maker in the room, water bottles and a chocolate treat to end the night! However it was the friendly and helpful staff that brings this hotel to the top of our list! Garcias, MIO Hotel!

La Recoleta is one of the most prominent neighborhoods in Buenos Aires (BA), named for the friars who built the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in 1732, and the Recoleta Cemetery, where Eva Peron and numerous other distinguished Argentinians are interred. These are overlooked across the park from the balconies of the Ayres Recoleta Plaza. To the right from the corner are a number of cafes with outdoor patios facing the humungous 230-year-old ”Gomera de Recoleta” (Recoleta Rubber Tree” landmark and the terminus of the city Hop-On Hop-Off bus. To the left from the corner are snack bars, more cafes and restaurants, some night clubs, and a stylish shopping center, with art museums and cultural centers a few blocks away down wide boulevards. Strictly, the Ayres Recoleta Plaza is not a hotel in the usual sense; it's an apartment building that rents apartments for overnight and longer stays. The studio that I had rented for a couple of days was fully and stylishly equipped, with a complete kitchen, and there were a number of families there who were clearly short-term visitors. The front desk is open during regular office hours, and there is no food service, which was not really a concern, given the number of cafes and convenience stores around the corner, including the landmark La Biela restaurant -- quite pleasant for breakfast, and light other meals. Staff of the Ayres Recoleta Plaza were pleasant quite helpful -- they had arranged for a taxi to pick me up when I arrived early Easter morning at the cruise terminal and later arranged a taxi to bring me to the airport. I'd certainly return.
