Hostels in Canterbury, Neuseeland

Ich habe das Haka House gebucht, weil es ein super Preis war und ich außerdem tolle Bewertungen gelesen hatte. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Vom Busbahnhof aus waren es nur 5 Minuten Fußweg zum Haka House. Bei meiner Ankunft traf ich den diensthabenden Manager, der sehr freundlich war und mich schnell eincheckte. Mein erster Eindruck auf dem Weg zum Zimmer war, dass es sehr sauber war und gut roch. Zwei Türen weiter befand sich ein Gemeinschaftsbad. Im Zimmer gab es eine Gepäckaufbewahrung, und das Bett war mit einer Ladestation und einer Leselampe ausgestattet. Das Bett war bequem, und ich habe sehr gut geschlafen.

Located near the fun Regent;s street with lots of restaurants and bars, near the convention center and cathedral, but a bit farther away from the Riverside market etc (10-15 min walk). Staff is friendly, kitchen is really big and has everything, with lost of fridges and storage space. I booked the room for myself, it was very comfortable. They provide big towels, which is nice. No hair drier though. Right next to bus stop to airport.

Gut zu erreichen vom Flughafen, Parkplatz vor der Tür, Woolworth 5min zu Fuss und viele Restaurants. Personal sehr bemüht, gute Zimmer, Pods ok, leider nur mit Vorhang. Ruhig, trotz Flughafennähe. Tolle Küche und sehr schöner Loungebereich. Leider Labelling am Kühlschrank so schlecht, dass man mir 2 Coladosen klaute trotz Namenbeschriftung...ärgerlich! Aber zu empfehlen aufgrund der Lage.

Due to the season, all the hotels in the area were booked out, so I had to stay in a dormitory room in this hotel. The hotel itself is nice. The room was very small, but clean and ok for this type of room. There is a shared kitchen, rest area, as well as laundry which is great. The location is 15-20 mins walk from the town center, but it’s ok. However, the service is not good. It was the male manager who checked me in. When I asked the manager if there was a breakfast option, he laughed at my face and told me: “Girl, your room is like what, 30 bucks and you want breakfast?”. This was really rude and unacceptable. Moreover, I didn’t even mean for the breakfast to be included in the room price, but wondered if I could buy one since I don’t have much experience of living in hostels. Therefore, I deduct some point for such an arrogant behavior from the staff who represent the hotel.

Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, ein Hotel mit Bar und Tischtouren, öffentliche Küche und Ausstattung zur Verfügung, Empfangsmanager ist ein indischer junger Mann, sehr freundlich, seine Frau ist auch sehr gerne zu helfen, sie geben mir einen tiefen Eindruck und eine tolle Erfahrung

Haka House Hostels Aoraki Mt Cook is a fantastic base for exploring one of New Zealand’s most stunning landscapes. The hostel is clean, modern, and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and spacious communal areas that make it easy to relax after a long day of hiking. The large kitchen is fully equipped, which is perfect for self-catering, and the lounge offers incredible views of the surrounding mountains. The staff are friendly and helpful, always ready with tips on local trails and weather conditions. The atmosphere is social but not too noisy, making it suitable for both solo travelers and groups. Its location is unbeatable, just a short walk from key viewpoints and tracks. Overall, a great value stay in an unforgettable setting.

Sehr cool Lage, eine Nacht in einem Gefängnis zu verbringen, aber ein wenig von der Stadtzentrum entfernt. Betten, wo komfortable, aber fehlende Gräber für mehr Privatsphäre. Badezimmer ist ziemlich alt.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut gelegen, nur wenige Gehminuten vom See entfernt. Der Check-in verlief reibungslos und unkompliziert. Die Küche ist bestens mit Koch- und Reinigungsutensilien ausgestattet. Sowohl die Unterkunft als auch die Gemeinschaftsbereiche waren jederzeit makellos sauber.

This place is really nice. The facilities are well provided. Clean bathroom with warm water. And the location is highly convenient, close to lake and supermarket

Nice lodge with perfect service. However, I just stayed a night and leave early morning that cannot feel it bit more.
