Review of Onna Resort, Okinawa About me: I’m a frequent flyer to Japan and a long-time fan of staying at villas and resorts across the country. I enjoy discovering different accommodations across Japan. This time, I chose Onna Resort for a relaxing group trip. ⸻ 👍 What I liked: • Spacious resort– Very roomy and comfortable, easily fits 7–8 people. Perfect for families or groups of friends. • Clean and well-maintained – The entire resort was spotless and felt well cared for. • View exactly as shown in photos – Stunning ocean view that matches the listing. Great for enjoying sunrise and sunset. • Beach nearby – A beach is within walking distance. While it may not be the best in Okinawa, it’s still nice for a stroll or quick swim. • Washer and dryer setup – Includes both a washer-dryer combo and a separate dryer, which is especially handy for drying towels and clothes after swimming. • Well-equipped kitchen – Good selection of cookware and appliances for preparing meals. • Private and quiet surroundings – Peaceful setting with no disturbance from other guests. ⸻ 👎 What could be improved: • Inconsistent check-in information – The email offered early check-in, and a staff member via video call said I could check in at 2pm. But when I arrived, another staff said it was 3pm. This communication gap should be addressed. • Missing basic items – No cups or glasses were provided, obviously an oversight by the cleaning staff. • Limited towel supply – Towels are provided strictly based on headcount. Given the proximity to the beach, it would be more convenient to offer a few extra towels without needing to ask. • Limited Coffee Supply - The resort provides coffee bags based on headcount as well, which was insufficient for guests who consume two or three cups daily. A more generous and considerate coffee supply would enhance the experience. • Insufficient tableware – Only two large plates were provided. It would be more practical to include additional small dishes, rice bowls, and condiment plates (e.g. for soy sauce or wasabi), especially for guests who plan to cook. • Lack of basic cooking ingredients – It would be helpful if staple items like cooking oil, salt, and pepper were provided to make meal preparation more convenient. • No power outlets near beds – Most sockets were located low on the wall and away from sleeping areas, making it inconvenient to charge phones or devices overnight. • Weak Wi-Fi signal in places – Internet connection was spotty in some areas of the villa, although it offers several wifi spots within the resort, but still weak

This is a four-room hotel run by a very kind and friendly man. He plays the sanshin and, if you request a meal in advance (around 2000 yen, if I remember correctly), he will entertain you as you eat. The building has concrete stairs, and the room, while adequate and pristine and good sized (for Japan) is nothing special. But the dark red tiled bathroom is the largest I have ever seen in Japan! You can enjoy an authentic Japanese bath here. I wish I could have this bathroom everywhere I stay! You are welcome to drinks in the refrigerator, and you can make a simple continental breakfast. There is a small ”super” nearby, and around 30 Soaplands, so you can see an important part of Japanese male culture. It is right near the 3 bus line (which, sadly, runs very irregularly), an authentic sanshin shop (run by an elderly master of Okinawan karate) and is easy walking distance to the Naha pier (ferries to Kagoshima), the Tsushushima museum, a Taoist temple and a Chinese-style garden which dates back 70 years. You can go up on the roof for a view, and you may be able to see the From the postcards pinned up on the wall to the books with extensive entries from Japanese patrons, I would say that the Japanese love this place! If you can speak even a little bit of Japanese, I recommend this place. The only negative is that the check in is at 4 PM.

Die Lage ist super gut, direkt neben der Kokusai-Straße! ~ Das Zimmer war größer als erwartet und die Schalldämmung war nicht gut. Das Husten und Schnarchen aus dem Nebenzimmer war deutlich zu hören. Es gibt keine Vorhänge an den Fenstern, daher ist es morgens zu hell zum Schlafen😅 Es wäre praktischer, wenn hinter der Tür einige Haken angebracht würden. Das Badezimmer würde gerne öfter gereinigt werden, ist aber noch akzeptabel

鄰近機場、鄰近魚市場、對駕駛人士來說是方便的。我們一家四口住了兩晚，設施上是非常充足。唯獨正樓浴室如果有指示牌指示就更佳。

Wir sind sehr glücklich mit dem Aufenthalt und würden zurückkommen. Die Zwillinge sind geräumig, sauber und haben einen Balkon. Aufgrund der Nähe der Main Street, die unser Balkon gegenüber stand, konnten wir den gelegentlichen Lautwagengeräusch während der Nacht hören. Die Hallen, die zu den Zimmern führten, hatten einen gemahlenen Geruch und einige große Gemälde, die wegen der hohen Feuchtigkeit schwer zu vermeiden ist. Die Zimmer sind jedoch überhaupt nicht beeinflusst worden.

Ich habe in einem Kapselhotelzimmer übernachtet. Es war etwas geräumiger als andere Gästehäuser, etwa 160 cm breit, sodass ich mich nicht eingeengt fühlte. Obwohl es aus Holz ist, hat es ein stilvolles Design, was mir sehr gefällt. Ich war dankbar, dass ich mein Gepäck schon vor dem Einchecken abgeben durfte. Um 23 Uhr wurde das Licht ausgeschaltet, daher war der Aufenthaltsraum nicht mehr zugänglich, aber ich konnte meine Mahlzeiten in Ruhe einnehmen. Da wahrscheinlich nicht viele andere Gäste da waren, war es sehr ruhig. Ich würde es gerne wieder buchen, wenn ich bei den Reisekosten sparen möchte!

Die geografische Lage ist sehr gut, es kann von der Stadt und dem Hafen von Shijiang gehen und es gibt kostenlose Parkplätze an der Tür. Der Rezeptionservice ist sehr gut, um die Zimmereinrichtungen und die öffentlichen Badezimmer und Toiletten zu erklären. Aber es kann mehr Reisende dauern, die Ein- und Ausreise ist nicht sehr bequem für Reisende, die nur eine Nacht halten, und die verschiedenen Papiere sind sehr komplex

Soggiorno spartano vicinissimo alla spiaggia di Ahren beach. Abbiamo soggiornato nella stanza con tatami, litigando più di una notte con le piattole. Non dico che fosse sporca la stanza, probabilmente è un problema diffuso nell'isola, come ci ha detto la proprietaria che ci ha fornito uno spray, ma ritrovarsi una piattola nel letto fa veramente impressione. Inoltre siamo dovuti rientrare con un giorno di anticipo, a causa di un tifone, e la struttura ci aveva detto che ci avrebbe rimborsato la notte persa, ma che avremmo dovuto scrivere a trip. Con il servizio clienti abbiamo fatto ben due richieste, entrambe cancellate dalla struttura che non ha mantenuto la parola. Inoltre sono irreperibili, abbiamo provato tramite email, Instagram e anche Messenger, ma non abbiamo mai ottenuto risposta. Peccato, perché nonostante le difficoltà linguistiche, il personale è stato gentile con noi durante il soggiorno.

Ich war mit meiner Freundin zu Besuch und blieb zwei Nächte. Am Check-in-Tag ist nach 20:00 Uhr kein Personal vor Ort. Sie können sie anrufen, damit sie zum Einchecken zurückkommen. Es fällt eine Gebühr für den späten Check-in von 1.500 Yen und eine Parkgebühr von 1.000 Yen pro Nacht an. Sie können Ihr Auto jederzeit ein- und ausfahren. Annehmlichkeiten können in der Lobby abgeholt werden. Es gibt eine Küche im Zimmer, jedoch keine Küchenausstattung. Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am Meer und ist nur durch eine Straße getrennt. Da es sich jedoch um eine Wellenbarriere handelt, ist ein Spielen nicht möglich. Wenn ich in einem Zimmer mit Meerblick übernachten könnte, wäre es wunderschön. Schade, dass die Zimmer mit Meerblick an diesem Tag ausgebucht waren. Das Personal ist aufmerksam. Der Preis ist hier nicht zu teuer. In der Nähe befinden sich köstliche Izakaya-Restaurants und Lebensmittelgeschäfte. Praktisch und preiswert. Insgesamt war ich beeindruckt. Ich werde wiederkommen und nicht zu spät zum erneuten Einchecken kommen. 😆

It's a really nice place and comes fully equipped, including a washer with detergent and a spacious balcony for air drying clothes. The toiletries and amenities are also great, and even the toilet paper is good quality, not thin or flimsy. You can occasionally hear sounds from the corridor, but they are brief and not very disruptive. There is no street noise, very quiet. However, if you book a second floor room, you will need to carry your luggage up the stairs. Free parking is available. The location is a short walk to the town area and public market, and about a seven minute walk to the bus stop. Before check in, you need to call the property to get the door code, as there are usually no staff on site, you could do it via app so it is fre. This may be inconvenient for some guests. I recommend calling in advance, as they do not always pick up immediately.
