Lovely Homely B&B crisp clean linen, plush carpet underfoot, Bathroom/Bedroom were both bright airy and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Decor was fresh Breakfast was excellent. Cooked Scottish breakfast with a selection of cereals, fresh fruits, yoghurts, Juice and toast with slabs of butter. Ample off-road parking and ideally located to explore Edinburgh which is a short drive or hop on a train at Bathgate. Mary and Donald were excellent hosts. Cannot wait to visit again.

It was the best decision we made to stay at the Court Residence in Linlithgow, rather than a very busy and more expensive Edinburgh. It very much suited our travel plans and it was a short 5 minute walk to the station with fast trains every 10 to 15 minutes to Edinburgh. Edinburg is a 20 minute train trip. We did a number of day trips to Edinburgh and travel was easy on their trains and trams. Accomodation was vey comfortable with a large room and kitchenette. Our daily supplies for milk, bread, cereals, spreads and fruit were topped up as required. The rooms are well heated as is the bathroom with underfloor heating and heated mirror and towel rail. Beds are warm and comfortable and decor is modern and first class. The owners were also most helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay a memorable one. If you're into history, then Linlithgow Castle is just across the road. Nice eateries and coffee shops a plenty and it has a nice local town feeling. The locals are so friendly and helpful. My wife and I can highly recommend the Court Residence Steve & Nia (from Sydney Australia)

They let us put in our stuff before clock in time because we went shopping. They gave us a really good taxi number, £7 anywhere in Livingston. Gave us, teabags,coffee, and different type of sugars, 3 mugs, 3 plastic cups and 3 little biscuits. They also had amazing bed there was 1 stain on the bed in our room but they were tiny. Gave us hairdryer and an iron and iron board. Massive wardrobe amazing for storing stuff. Very small bathroom but the shower was amazing, nice and hot. Gave us hand wash and body wash in the bathrooms and 2 plastic cups. The pillows are very low down but very comfy. The restaurant is amazing, quite okay prices but we ordered ice cream ( 5 tubs ) and they didn't give us any spoons.Our radiator was broken but as soon as we told them they fixed it. I had a lovely stay, amazing day shopping and amazing food.

The hotel was nice. We arrived on a Friday evening when there was a huge event taking place at the house. Check-in was quick and easy. Rooms were clean just a bit warm. Fortunately, we had a fan in the room. Beds were very comfy. Dinner at the restaurant was ok, nothing fancy but fine for the price. However, staff is in dire need of training. Not one single waitress/waiter was able to smile. They spoke very fast and slurred and we had to wave them to come back for further orders. When we ordered the bill, something went wrong with the card and they just walked away, mumbling something we could not understand. After 10 minutes they still did not get back to us so we had to catch them at the bar in order to clarify what happened. Turned out the card was declined and they did not make any efforts in letting us know. Which left us with a very strange feeling. Breakfast was the same, staff was not able to smile or at least look friendly. It all felt like it was a shame that they had to work. Not sure what the reason is for that as they treated all guests the same way. The next morning we were sitting in the breakfast area with the sun blinding us so we asked them to pull down the blinds but they told us they were just facade. Breakfast buffet was very poor: Kellogs cereal bags (the small ones) 3 bananas, 2 old apples and some grapes.
