I love this place so much that a part of me wants to gatekeep this hidden gem. Fanzhu梵住 is a beautifully curated boutique hotel that delivers outstanding hospitality. I initially booked a 5-day stay but loved it so much that I extended for an extra day, willingly sacrificing my next destination. I was initially worried the hotel might be a ”pretty façade.” Fortunately, Fanzhu met all my needs of functionality and comfort (Breakfast, Air Conditioning, an excellent shower, free self-service laundry, an ideal location). The property is far from perfection, but it overcompensates with simple, heartfelt sincerity. You can feel the tremendous thought and effort poured into this place to make guests feel comfortable. ✨ Highlights, Who Will Love This Place: ✅#English-Speaking Travellers: For foreigners unfamiliar with China, it is extremely helpful that the owner is fluent in English. ✅#Design & Aesthetics: Warm & modern. The property exudes zen-like comfort with charming decors. It has a gorgeous yard, with swimming pool, and ample outdoor seatings. ✅#Remote workers: I didn’t plan to work on this trip, but I could see myself working there remotely. If you come from the city where every building looks like a boxy Lego piece, you will deeply appreciate this place. ✅#Personalized Service: Kudos to the young lady boss! In a place like Wanfenglin where the location pins and 导航 can be vague to foreigners, sh took the time to understand my itinerary, how I planned my routes around Wanfenglin. She gave recommendations, and helped me check my “Destination” input on car hiring app. Airport and railway station pickups can also be arranged easily too. ✅#Immaculate Rooms: THE BED! Oh my, the bed! The linens, pillows, and towels are all premium quality. Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash feel luxurious. The bed is so comfortable that I would return just for a sleep-in holiday. Ok I know I’m mentioning the bed twice but it’s worth mentioning thrice. Extra points from me that the rooms are non-smoking. ✅#Location: Before arriving, I read a review describing this place as ”a piece of tranquillity close to the action”. Now I get it. It sits as an independent building on a peaceful road/hill(?), yet it is a short, easy walk to the Bagua fields and Zhong Nahui, where you can find idyllic cafes, little shops, and children playing in the fields. ✅#Breakfast: Delicious local-flavoured noodles!They also offer more conservative standards like toasts, eggs, and coffee. Oh, the hotel has an ice machine! Ooooohh so sexy in the hot weather (apparently ice cubes are rare in Wanfenglin). ✅#The Resident Pets: As a pet lover who willingly pays to visit cat cafes, having resident dog and cats sealed the deal for me. ✅#BONUS TIP: The Rooftop Night Sky. Unassuming and rugged at first glance, I was initially unimpressed. But I heard good reviews from others, so I gave it another go, and am thankful I did! Stay awhile, allow your eyes some time to adjust in the darkness, and you would see the sky completely transforms. On my last night, I saw a shooting star! I kid you not. It was an absolutely unbelievable, unforgettable moment. Incredibly awesome! ⚠️ Considerations Before You Book (Who should avoid): - If you love standard chain hotels. Fanzhu is intimate enough to offer personalized service. But I can imagine some of my more pampered friends who prefer international breakfast buffet spread would struggle to settle for this simplicity. Some things are just not realistic expectations off a boutique. - Mobility needs: There is no elevator. They would graciously carry your suitcases. However, elderly may want to enquire about ground-floor room. - In the midst of nature: If you have zero tolerance for insects, you may want to skip staying in Wanfenglin. It is a humid, lush environment surrounded by fields and trees. Personally, with a body spray of insect repellent, I wasn't bothered at all. - Pet allergies: If you hate pets (but why would you? :( w

Eine sehr zufriedenstellende Erfahrung! ! ! ! Die Besitzerin ist sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und enthusiastisch. Sie hat die Heizung für uns eingeschaltet, bevor wir im B&B ankamen. Sie war immer bereit, alle unsere Fragen während unserer zwei Tage im Hotel zu beantworten. Sie ist sehr gesprächig und rücksichtsvoll! ! ! Als ich ankam, bekam ich ein kleines Geschenk für den Aufenthalt dort. Es war eine Überraschung! Das B&B bietet einen Abholservice. Sie müssen sich keine Gedanken über die Entfernung vom Hochgeschwindigkeitsbahnhof zum B&B machen. Sie werden direkt vor der Tür des B&B abgesetzt und müssen nur ein paar Schritte gehen, um dorthin zu gelangen. Das ist sehr praktisch, auch wenn Sie viel Gepäck haben. Da das B&B weit abseits der Hauptstraße liegt, ist die Unterkunftsumgebung sehr ruhig und Sie werden nachts nicht gestört. Die Lage ist sehr gut und nicht abgelegen. Zur Hauptstraße sind es zu Fuß etwa zwei bis drei Minuten, was sehr praktisch ist. Ich habe vergessen, Fotos vom Inneren des Zimmers zu machen, aber es war wirklich groß, schön, sauber und ordentlich. Draußen waren Felder und ich konnte vom Fenster aus ein Terrassenfeld sehen. Es war sehr komfortabel und die Aussicht war wirklich schön! ! ! Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und man kann sich hier rundum wohlfühlen. Warmes Wasser steht 24 Stunden am Tag zur Verfügung und der Wasserdruck ist ausreichend. Man muss sich keine Sorgen machen, dass einem nachts beim Duschen das Wasser ausgeht. Das Zimmer ist beheizt und auf dem Bett liegt eine Heizdecke, sodass Sie keine Angst haben müssen, in der Kälte zu schlafen. Ich nutze die smarte Toilette und die smarten Haushaltsgeräte und bin sehr zufrieden. Ich kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen und werde es beim nächsten Mal wieder wählen! ! !

✅Zunächst die Vorteile: Der Butlerservice war exzellent. Ich wurde vom Bahnhof abgeholt und mir wurde die ganze Zeit mit meinem Gepäck geholfen. Der Fußweg vom Bahnhof zum Hotel dauerte etwa 10–15 Minuten und war somit nicht besonders anstrengend. Zweitens bietet die Lage des Hotels eine unschlagbare Aussicht; sehen Sie sich dazu die Fotos an, die ich gepostet habe. Bei meiner Ankunft werden Getränke in der Lobby bereitgestellt. Außerdem gibt es jeden Abend zwei Portionen Suppe, dies hängt jedoch von der Zimmerkategorie ab; ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob dies auch in anderen Preiskategorien enthalten ist. Besonders positiv überrascht war ich vom hervorragenden Soundsystem im Zimmer. Ich kenne die Marke nicht, aber die Klangqualität war großartig, was eine angenehme Überraschung war. ⚠️Zweitens einige Nachteile: Die Wartezeit für die Zimmervorbereitung war übermäßig lang. Dies war kein Einzelfall; ich habe beobachtet, wie Gäste im Allgemeinen über 40 Minuten in der Lobby warteten. Dies könnte für ungeduldige Reisende problematisch sein. ✉️Abschließend möchte ich Ihnen einige Verbesserungsvorschläge machen. Wie in Abbildung (2) zu sehen, verfügt mein Zimmer über ein privates Thermalbad. Die Kerzen, Blütenblätter und Badebomben (die das Wasser rosa färben und duften) auf dem Foto habe ich jedoch selbst mitgebracht. Da das Hotel ein so schönes Ambiente bietet, würde ich mich freuen, wenn Sie einige dieser Annehmlichkeiten anbieten könnten. (Blütenblätter kosten weniger als 10 Yuan, Kerzen 5 Yuan und Badebomben sind mit ca. 20 Yuan pro Stück etwas teurer, und man benötigt 6 Stück. Es gibt aber günstigere Alternativen im Handel, und das Hotel könnte sie eventuell in größeren Mengen einkaufen.) Mein Zimmerpreis beträgt 2680 Yuan. Ich bin der Meinung, dass diese zusätzlichen Annehmlichkeiten das Erlebnis deutlich verbessern würden, da die meisten Gäste in dieser Preisklasse junge Paare sind. Ich hoffe, Sie berücksichtigen meine Vorschläge. Abschließend möchte ich Ihnen dennoch eine positive Bewertung mit 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 geben. Ich wünsche dem Hotel viel Erfolg und allen Freunden, die ins Dorf Miao kommen, eine angenehme Reise.

Great location, nice new clean hotel, nice big room with big bathroom and shower. Breakfast was also great with a good selection of asian and Western food choices. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The free airport shuttle bus is convenient. Overall, a very pleasant experience, good value for money and highly recommend this hotel.

What I like most is : The room is on the fourth floor. I didn’t pay for an expensive room so the room looks out to the backyard which is disorganized. If I pay more I would’ve gotten a better view. What I pay is what I get obviously. Nevertheless the room is very very nice. It has many lights and well lit and I love it. I can read without feeling that I am living inside a cave. The smart toilet is a place to for buttock massage.  The breakfast is quiet good.. It has fruit, bao zi and a freshly made bowl of rice noodles. The hotel offers fruit for free . I love to have fruit and the fact that I don’t have to buy it and carry it back to the hotel. I have daily house keeping . My garbage was emptied.  There are 2 massage chairs that are very good. The hotel decor in the lobby and the room are very pleasant. The owner has good ‘taste’. I am not a big fan of disposable towels. If there is anything I prefer, is I want to cloth bathing towels. I felt like I used a piece of enormous napkins to dry my body. This is not a deal breaker though as I only stay 2 nights. If I stay longer, there would be anything else to do because I complete the whole circuit in less than 4 hours. The next day I went to Yao Shan and there wasn’t many people . But being 65, the entrance is free but I paid 20 rmb for the short bus ride. I paid 15 rmb one way on a DiDi there and the same coming back. The location is at the extreme end of this neighborhood and would require a 10 minutes uphill to the entrance. The park is quite big. You have to walk 10 minutes to 15 minutes to the entrance, then after you buy the ticket, another 10 minutes to the bus stop so it is quite a lot of walking before you begin your journey. If I have to do it all over again, I would have spent more time at every stop. I misunderstood that route A and route B is different. Route B is exactly the same as route A in reverse. The information given by the owner should include the trail from the bus top to the bridge . There is an option to ride a boat and then walk a bit. The trail is easy to walk and well maintained and quite pleasant early in the morning and before closing as there will be fewer people . The hotel is a bit far if you have a lot of luggages.  In summary, this hotel is the only one that offers breakfast in my 5 weeks through China and it was surprising good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Wow! This place is absolutely awesome. We could’ve stayed here for a week or two. It's so peaceful and the surroundings are so beautiful; mountains, rivers, very peaceful. The rooms are large and super comfortable. Beds are comfy, although somewhat hard, but that's typical for asia. There's a mini fridge in the room, but no safe. We were there at the end of march and didn’t need the A/C. The room had everything you needed and was very cozy. We had a view of the river. We slept with this sliding door ajar and heard the river all night, which was really nice. No smart TV, but again, that's typical for china. The bathroom is large and well laid out. The shower had good pressure and consistent temperature. Every detail in this hotel has been well thought out and executed. As with every hotel bathroom, it could use more hooks! There was shampoo, conditioner, body wash, but no lotion (which is typical for asia). Breakfast is good with fruit, many chinese options, an egg making station, toast, tea, coffee, and juice. Staff are very nice here. The hotel is just steps to the fanjing mountain entry area. Go over the bridge, and to your right is where you enter the park (for the shuttle bus, that takes you to the cable car). Even if you prebuy your tickets on wechat, you still have to go to the ticket office and show your passport to get your physical paper ticket. Yes, you actually need a physical paper ticket! ☹ Make sure you go to the right booth! The first ticket booth that you come across is only a ticket information counter. Keep walking past all the entry gates, and locate the large main tourist center. That's where you line up, show your wechat purchase, and get your physical ticket. You can also buy tickets here. You then go back to where all the entry gates were, and line up again ☹ They scan the paper ticket. It's very old school for china! Once you enter, you get in line for the shuttle bus. At the end of the shuttle bus ride, you then go and line up to get your ticket for the cable car, even if you prebought this on wechat as well!!! They scan your physical ticket and then you can enter the cable car station.

Das Hotel ist in der allgemeinen Umgebung gut, der kleine Teeservice ist sehr gut, sehr enthusiastisch und lobenswert. Der Hotelservice reagiert schnell und kann innerhalb einer halben Stunde etwas geschickt werden. Die Einrichtungen sind auch sehr vollständig, der Fitness-Buch sollte den Pool haben. Das Hotel ist auch sehr schön, antiken und antiken, aber die Innenausstattung ist sehr modern und ist völlig ein hervorragendes fünf-Sterne-Hotel. Das Frühstück des Hotels hat das Gefühl, dass das staatliche Hotel im letzten Jahrhundert zurückkehrt, als es Kind war. Vielen Dank noch einmal für die Service-Arrangements von Xiao Xiao. Dieses Hotel ist fantastisch. Das Zimmer ist modern und mit allem Komfort ausgestattet. Die Lage ist hervorragend. Das Hotel bietet einen kostenlosen Gepäcktransport vom Flughafen Xiaojia an. Die beiden Herren, die uns dort empfangen, sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Einer von ihnen heißt Xiaojia, leider haben wir vergessen, den anderen zu fragen. Das Frühstück war gut. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden mit der Gastfreundschaft.

Das High-Sterne-Kette-Hotel neben Huangguo-Tree ist sehr gut mit vielen Fünf-Sterne-Wäschereien ohne Selbstbedienung und eine große Anzahl von Waschmaschinen, auch auf Feiertagen können meine und meine Freunde zufriedenstellen. Das Hotel scheint in mehrere Gebäude zu unterteilt zu sein, es gibt neue und alte Gebäude, unser Zimmer hat einen Balkon. Es gibt kein Frühstück im Hotel, andere Software-Erlebnisse sind gut, auch auf den Urlaub sehr gut, es lohnt sich einen Aufenthalt zu erleben.

Getting from the scenic area parking lot into any hotels in Qianhu Miao village can be very challenging. You would need to walk over 600 meters with luggage, queue for a local shuttle, and then walk or climb stairs again to reach whatever hotel you book. As a solo traveler with my young daughter and two suitcases, this initially felt overwhelming when thinking about this idea . I’m truely glad that I chose to stay with this hotel. Before we arrived, the staff proactively contacted me via WeChat and sent someone to meet us at the ticket checkpoint outside of the village to help with our luggage, and guide us onto the shuttle. This thoughtful assistance made a huge difference. The hotel’s location was perfect, right next to the viewing platform. After getting off the electric shuttle, it took only one minute walk to reach the lobby. The views from the lobby, rooftop, and room are absolutely stunning. We didn’t need to visit crowded public viewpoints — enjoying the sparkling night view of the Miao village from our room was more than enough. The Breakfast was generous and delicious, with surprisingly good coffee. A very good sour fish soup restaurant is located nearby. Every single staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely caring. They patiently taught my daughter the Miao ethnic batik indigo dye — she loved it so much that she couldn’t stop. On the fifth floor, the hotel also offers a variety of ethnic costumes for photo shoots. Even after checkout, they still helped carry our luggage all the way to the parking lot, which was truly appreciated. Although our stay was short, we could truly feel the care, attention to detail, and kindness from everyone at the hotel. Staying here felt more like being at home than at a hotel. We will definitely come back again and stay for longer. Strongly recommended!
