We were only visiting because it is on the way between Kaikoura and Christchurch to enjoy this beautiful reserve.
Called in for picnic lunch.
Peaceful. Nice walks. Sat under a huge kowhai tree and watched a fat lazy wood pigeon look at us with disgust before flying off..

A delightful visit
The Cheviot Domain has history, lovely walks and lots of Spring bulbs flowing in September. It is definitely worth a visit.
Stunning place for a stroll
Stunning place for a walk or a picnic.Even better when our local cricket team the Magpies are playing on these beautiful grounds.Spent many an afternoon relaxing in the sun on a Saturday.
