Wir buchten das Hotel (zu spät am Tag) als Teil eines Inntravel-Pakets - und lesen Sie nur dann einige der negativen Bewertungen hier. Unsere Erfahrung mit dem Hotel führte uns zu einem entgegengesetzten Schluss. Die Lage am Rande der kleinen Stadt Yaiza ist nicht entfernt, sondern ruhig und ruhig, und nur eine relativ kurze Fahrt zu den südlichsten Stränden und Resorts, gebratener Küstenpfad oder in andere Richtungen, der erstaunliche Timanfaya Nationalpark. Das Zimmer, das wir hatten, war neben dem Pool (sehr kalt, aber erstarkend!), und war sauber, geräumig, und hatte eine große Dusche und ein sehr komfortables Bett. Es wurde täglich gereinigt, und die einzige Verbesserung, die wir vorschlagen, ist, dass es von einem Paar Stühle profitieren könnte (es hatte einen Kunststoffsitz). Einige andere Zimmer schien etwas reichhaltiger, aber die, die wir hatten, war mehr als ausreichend für unsere Bedürfnisse, und erfüllte die Erwartungen Frühstück, serviert im Hof, war gesund, mit einer breiten und reichhaltigen Auswahl von frischem Obst, Getreide, Joghurt, Ham, Salami, Käse und Brot usw. Das Frühstückspersonal, das sehr hart gearbeitet hat, war fantastisch, charmant und unendlich geduldig. Die Abendessen im Restaurant (die nicht vom Hotel geführt wird, soweit wir die Situation verstanden haben) war eine entspannte, sehr leckere und freundliche Erfahrung. Die Leitung war da, um zu helfen und zu beraten, und wir fühlten keine negativen Vibrationen. Wir hatten eine sehr entspannende Zeit im Hotel und wünschen es und seine charmanten Mitarbeiter gut für die Zukunft.

Die Casa di Hilario liegt am Ortsrand von Yaiza, die Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe sind sowohl zu Fuß, per Fahrrad oder Bus super zu erreichen. Das kleine Hotel bietet ganz viel Ruhe, tolle Ausblicke auf das Meer und die Berge bzw Vulkane ringsherum und ist trotzdem gut angebunden. In der Nähe befinden sich fußläufig diverse Restaurants oder Imbisse, auch ein kleiner Supermarkt mit allem was man braucht ist schnell erreicht. Das Frühstück ist lecker und bietet viel Abwechslung auch an frischen Zutaten wie Obst und etwas Gemüse. Der Kaffee ist jedoch mehr Wachmacher als Genuss :-) frühstücken lässt sich toll auf der weitläufigen Terrasse mit schöner Aussicht, mir hat nur besonders tagsüber bisschen der Schatten gefehlt (keine Schirme oder Sonnensegel). Egal was man braucht, das Team der Casa ist gut erreichbar (keine Rezeption direkt vor Ort) und hilft gerne bei allen Fragen und Wünschen, egal ob Fahrrad mieten oder allgemeine Auskünfte. Ein toller Ort für alle, die es ruhig mögen und eigenständig sein möchten oder können.

Die Hotelanlage ist ruhig gelegen; aber in 10 Minuten ist man zu Fuß am kleinen Hafenort Puerto Calero. Mit einem Auto kann man die Insel gut erkunden. Hervorzuheben ist zum einen das Personal an der Rezeption, welches eine spontane Verlängerung unseres Aufenthaltes gut organisiert hat, sodass wir weiterhin in der Junior Suite wohnen konnten. Zum anderen gilt ein besonderes Lob allerdings dem gesamten Teams in den Restaureants. Bestellte Getränke wurden schnell serviert und wenn ein Tisch wieder frei wurde, hat das Service-Team alles sofort wieder hergerichtet, dass die nächsten Gäste platziert werden konnten. Dies war insbesondere auf den Aussenterrassen sehr angenehm - so konnten viele Gäste diese Annehmlichkeiten mit Meerblick genießen. Im gesamten Hauptgebäude wurde ein angenehmer Duft verbreitet - allerdings war dieser nicht käuflich - schade.

Having visited many years ago we were a little sceptical as to how good it would be but chose it over the neighbouring Secrets hotel (formerly the Hesperia) as they no longer accept children. We were so pleased with the Costa Calero as bar one or two very minor ******* it was excellent all round and the food for an all inclusive hotel was outstanding. It was definitely worth going Prestige (ultra) all inclusive due to using the spa for free for two hours every day (it’s an exceptionally warm hydrotherapy pool with children’s swimming times which was invaluable on the cloudier days with a 10 year old son! The mini bar was well stocked for free each day with premium drinks (my only gripe was that they wouldn’t put any non fizzy soft drinks in for our son other than pineapple juice which he doesn’t like. Even though they offered to swap out drinks and both orange and apple cartons were available in the prestige lounge (so we helped ourself and took a carton up to our room!) The Prestige lounge had all drinks available and basic snacks for prestige clients to serve themselves throughout the day. The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. All spoke good English although we always try to use as much broken Spanish as we can out of courtesy. Facilities were excellent all round helped by the fact it was outside the school holidays so very very quiet. Fab location just 5 minutes from Puerto calero marina and there’s a car hire place down there so easy to sort a car for a few days once you’re there. Our room 507 faced west and so had evening sun and excellent view over hotel to volcanoes and marina / sea. Plenty large enough for 3 of us and a good bathroom with excellent shower over bath. Room had clearly been refurbished not too long ago but good job we didn’t need the air con as the buttons were broken and were either full on fan on off - would have been awkward in warmer months. We’re pretty fussy and normally stay 5 star but wouldn’t hesitate to go back to this hotel - especially when jet2 offer a free child place. Jet2 also offered resort check in allowing us to leave our cases at the hotel lobby and then go straight to airport security on way home. Please feel free to ask any questions.

I would like there to be a rating between AVERAGE and VERY GOOD, and this hotel was above average, and below very good - there needs to be a GOOD rating- but this is trip advisors fault not the hotels! I stayed with a friend, in a junior suite 2-9th June 2023. Let’s start with the room. We arrived around midday and our room was ready – hurrah- super friendly, knowledgeable receptionist checked us in, gave us a load of info and a map and off we went! The excitement turned into a little bit of disappointment when we realised that instead of the 2 single beds pushed together, as depicted in every single solitary photo of a junior suite, it was one double bed – not ideal for friends holidaying together. The shower was VAST – very impressive but it was let down by the grout on the floor of the bathroom which was grubby and could do with replacing. The room itself was clean, big, and bed comfortable, with air con, tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. Cleaned daily (except cups etc which were randomly not) – by exceptionally friendly cleaning staff. We had an issue with the bathroom on the first night, whereby we created a paddling pool in the shower room due to a blocked drain! -Quick trip to reception and super friendly Mr fix it man was with us in 5 minutes, fixing the issue, which never reoccurred. The restaurant had a fab selection of differing foods, always something to suit all tastes, and a chef always cooking you up something – eggs/omelettes/fresh fish/chicken etc. Mountains of fresh salad, fruit and bread – and snacks pretty much all day! Restaurant staff were all amazingly polite, friendly, and attentive. Bars were what you would expect of a 3*, local wine, spirits, premade cocktails, and once again amazingly polite, friendly, attentive staff. The pool was lovely and warm, with nice views looking down to the sea – never had an issue with getting a sunbed, but there is limited space around the pool area. I believe the other side of Flora is much quieter if you don’t like 4000 inflatables, and their young owner’s noise. The hotel is on a hill…… very pleasant stroll down, under 3 euro in a taxi back – not an issue at all. With a taxi rank just outside the hotel getting back to the airport was nice and easy to (approx. 20 euro). There was only one real thing that let this hotel down, the entertainment- whilst some of the live music acts were great the male half of the entertainment team (which consists of 2 people), really did not have his mind on the job at all. If you are going to work in entertainment you need to be enthusiastic 24/7, with both adults and kids, or they will lose interest fast. Which I witnessed on several occasions. Don’t put out water polo nets and walk away to chat to another member of staff, not even asking if anyone wants to play, don’t do 1 song at the mini disco, not engage the kids(more than once), and again walk away to chat to more staff members, don’t roll your eyes when someone asks you to repeat a qui

We are here at the minute. Avoid this place, the rooms are shabby and dirty despite ours supposedly being a superior one. We have a variety of insects sharing with us, including cockroaches etc. The cleaner left some spray but that to me just means they know the place is infested. The gardens are the only thing that is well kept, if only so much effort went into the rooms. There is a smell coming from under the sink where the bins are kept that is indescribable even after the bins are emptied. The kitchen equipment is basic, please don’t expect to actually be able to do much self catering! The reception staff are rude and surely and make sure if you ask them something that you know you are a nuisance. One particular receptionist told a guest to shut up until she had finished what she was doing on the computer without even looking up. TUI coach transport dropped us at the bottom of a hill and told us to walk up with our cases, had we known those we wouldn’t have booked due to health concerns. This led to a member of our party becoming unwell. We knew the hotel was on a hill and accepted we would use taxis to get about but had no idea the level of service provided to transport us to the hotel would be so shoddy. TUI has agreed to fund a taxi to take us back to the airport and offered us a £100 good will gesture with a very much take it or leave it attitude . I have never had such an appalling experience when booking with TUI. We knew the place was a 3 star accommodation , and have happily stayed in 3 star before with TUI and had no complaints. Its the dirt we didn’t expect. Not expected of TUI at all. As said avoid at all costs.
