Bonkle House

Dieses Hotel ist eine absolute Schande. Nachdem der Gast über ********** gebucht hatte, wurde ihm mitgeteilt, dass die Buchung aufgrund einer Doppelbuchung, die offenbar eine Minute vor unserer Buchung erfolgte, nicht berücksichtigt werden würde. Um das Ganze noch schlimmer zu machen, reagiert der Hotelbesitzer jetzt nicht auf die Kontaktversuche von Hotel.com bezüglich einer Rückerstattung. Es wurde also berechnet, an einem Ort zu übernachten, der unsere Buchung ablehnte. Unglaublich........aber wahr !!!!!!

We’d never have booked this place if we’d read the recent reviews, however for what we paid, about £36 for one night it wasn’t bad value for money. Yes the place is tired, but the room and the bathroom were clean and we slept well considering we were on the ground floor. If you want a cheap bed for the night this does the job.

This was absolutely the worst property I have ever stayed at. There were stains everywhere: Sheets, Floor, Walls, Ceiling. The heat was broken and when we asked an employee to come check on it, he said “it will turn on soon”; which it never did.

We were only there 2 night's but got train easy enough into Glasgow. Had to use car for something to eat as nothing around in walking distance.

We had a huge room with sofa and 2 beds. Decor is dated but still was comfortable and nice and warm. Adequate facilities - bathroom / TV/ tea & coffee. No option for breakfast it is just bed. House keeping could have waited until later in the day to knock on as woke us up early on Sunday, wasn’t very happy about that. Mistake on check out time, I thought 11 and it was 10am, they were understanding which was appreciated.

This is the worst place I have ever stayed in. I ended up with bed bugs, the room was filthy (tea stains on the walls, filthy shower, carpets are stained and disgusting, windows with condensation running down them, DON’T STAY HERE!!!!! I asked for compensation and received nothing after our awful experience and we paid £67 for our awful room - noisy too as right next to the road.

This property was so rundown and awful we left a day early ( we had nowhere else for escape to on the first night). The caretaking family were sweet and moved us to a cleaner room but it still had a musty smell and the bedsheets were old and soft. We won’t book ahead from photos on ******* again.

The place is hidden away just off the road and hard to find, drove past it initially, wish I’d kept on driving, it’s August but it’s freezing in the room, there’s no food of any kind, no breakfast, rooms are not sound proofed, every noise is clearly heard. There’s a couple of blokes in the next room to me, Chinese, Thai, Korean, I don’t know, talking and laughing very loudly without any consideration, nothing from the owners or management to ask them to keep the noise down. Would have rather slept in my car than stay here, if you’re considering this place, don’t, go somewhere else.

The owners need to put a lot more effort into what could be a nice place, but is currently extremely run down, and service is non-existent. We were met by a child, a bit confused by the paperwork, and taking instructions from unseen adults in a back room. That’s the last we saw of any staff. We had booked for 3 people in the triple room, but we realised in the morning there were only 2 towels and one was stained. The front desk had a number to ring for assistance, and three more if no-one answered. All 4 numbers went unanswered at 8am and none had a voicemail facility. We had booked for two nights but given these issues, made other arrangements for the second night instead. We couldn’t even communicate this to the owners as there was no one there! It’s very expensive as well for what it is. The paperwork seems a bit obsessed with outlining potential extra charges. No breakfast facilities, and no other options in the town other than an Asda. Overall an unwelcoming experience.
