We spent two midweek nights here. This lovely downtown hotel was built in 1913, and has a beautiful early 20c lobby. If you stay in an historic hotel, you have to understand that some things will not be as good as staying at a modern hotel. For example, bedrooms and bathrooms will often be smaller, there may not be a pool, etc. But for us, being a part of history is enjoyable, and we've stayed in many hotels with an historic background. We found the Fort Garry to be a lovely place---the historic vibe is definitely there. The hotel's location is great---you can walk to the riverside Forks Historic District, with its famous market, museums, etc. And the hotel is only a block from the historic railroad station. Yes, our room was a bit small, but the bed was comfortable. We asked for a room with a good view, and got one on the 5th floor with a nice view of the railroad station and garden areas nearby. The staff here were exceedingly friendly, from the front desk staff to the restaurant servers. For example, our breakfast server from the previous day made a special effort to come over and talk to us the next day, even though she was not our server that day. Really good effort to make you feel comfortable! The hotel has a very nice fitness room, but no pool (you can pay for pool privileges at an adjacent building). The beautiful hotel restaurant (Oval Room) also reeks of history. We had breakfast there two times and dessert (not dinner) once. It's highly rated, and the food was very good. Parking here can be an issue. You can self-park on a fairly small one floor lot on the hotel's first floor, or down below in a basement garage. The first floor lot often fills up with patrons of the restaurant or business functions, but the basement lot was never full, and we used that one on both nights of our stay. Just note that the basement garage has no elevator. Overall, we had a delightful stay at the Fort Garry.

Die Aussicht vom Zimmer war nicht schön, nur ein Dach eines angrenzenden Gebäudes. Aber wir sind nicht in Winnipeg, um das Hotelzimmerfenster zu sehen. Das Bett war sehr komfortabel und der ausgezeichnete Wasserdruck in der Dusche war wunderbar. Am Abend war der Wohnzimmerbereich ziemlich dunkel und konnte eine Beleuchtung verwenden. Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich, vom Frühstück (Sie sollten ein Zeichen ”Bitte setzen Sie sich” haben - denn manchmal warten die Gäste, bis der Gast kommt und sagen, wo sie wollen, setzen Sie sich) bis zum angenehmen Personal am Frontdesk. Wir haben immer viel Personal an der Rezeption, also warten nicht. Obwohl wir das Pool-Gebiet nicht genutzt haben, wir haben es beobachtet, und es war einer der attraktivsten Hotelpools, die wir je gesehen haben. Wir haben den beigefügten Untergrundparkplatz für 5 Tage verwendet - keine Fragen. Der Parkplatz ist ziemlich groß mit zahlreichen Ebenen, es scheint ein großer Platz zu sein. Einfacher Zugang über den ganzen Tag.

Im Allgemeinen ist dieses sehr schöne Hotel und der Preis ist angesichts seiner zentralen Lage erstaunlich. Das Personal ist ausgezeichnet, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir genossen auch das moderne Gefühl unseres Zimmers. Wir waren gut mit sauberen Handtüchern gelagert, und das Bett war komfortabel und sauber. Als Konsens können Sie sagen, die Kräne und Nüsse entlang der Wände zu sehen, dass eine gründlichere Reinigung bald erforderlich ist. Hausaufbewahrung war auch für zwei Tage unseres Aufenthalts wegen Personalmangel nicht verfügbar. Obwohl dies uns nicht wirklich beeinflusst hat, und ich weiß, dass es Industrieprobleme gibt, es ist etwas zu berücksichtigen, wenn Sie täglich Reinigung benötigen. In der Tat war unser größtes Problem die Lärm und Störungen außerhalb, die wir nachts gehört haben. Auch hier ist es nicht die Schuld des Hotels, aber potenzielle Besucher sollten sich bewusst sein. Obwohl wir nur 3 Nächte geblieben haben, bin ich oft durch Krankenwagen, Polizeiwagen Sirenen, Rennwagen und einmal sogar durch eine 4-Stunden-Altercation draußen auf Portage aufgewacht. Wir waren alle auf dem 14. Stock. Ohrschneider halfen, aber es hat nicht alles ausgeschaltet. Also, wenn Sie lautstärkempfindlich sind, vielleicht bitten Sie um ein Zimmer, das Ellice oder Hargrave steht? Parkplatz im nahegelegenen sicheren Indigo Parkplatz ist auch $20/day so vergiss nicht, dass in Ihrer Budgetierung.

Das Zimmer ist sauber, der Raum ist nicht klein, die Umgebung ist ruhig, die Rezeption ist chinesisch. Das Hotel und die Bar können verbraucht werden, und das kostenlose Frühstück ist im Motel sehr teuer. Das einzige Problem ist, dass es keine Schalter im zentralen Klimaanlagen gibt, die Doppelbettzimmer sind draußen etwas gerade. Also schlafen Sie nicht gut. Ich hoffe, der Shop wird dieses Problem schätzen.

Schöne Lage und sehr komfortabel zum Schlafen und das Personal waren wirklich nett und nett Menschen

Meg gave my brother and I the best customer service I’ve ever seen in any hotel. He went above and beyond for us that I will be checking into the mainstay a lot more often. Good human beings like him deserve a raise. Given the touch patch we have been through and how tired we were. Words can’t explain the application for such understanding.

Das kontinentale Frühstück war nicht im Preis inbegriffen, aber die Lage ist ausgezeichnet und wir konnten leicht über die Straße gehen, um Sushi und Bubble Tea, Pizza, Steak und mehr zu kaufen! Auch ein Shoppers Drug Mart und Liquor Mart direkt gegenüber. Und wenn Sie sich sportlich betätigen möchten, liegt dieses Hotel ganz in der Nähe des wunderschönen Assiniboine Park & Zoo!

Very clean, personable staff from Housekeeping to Maintenance to Booking/Courtesy Desk. I’m so impressed with this hotel that I recommend the staff get a raise or at least a nice perk of some kind. I have never stayed in a better hotel. I cannot rave about it enough. Everyone is so kind, helpful and smiling. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette but had food that needed the oven. Teresa even heated up our chicken! It’s too bad we live so far away as this would be the perfect place to stay on a regular basis. Kudos to all!

This was an overnight, weekend leisure stay for a nearby event. Despite having never stayed here before, the location was very convenient and the website photos were encouraging. Booking was simple using the website and check in was pleasant. On entering the room, the temperature was noticeably hot. Uncomfortably hot. We assessed this was because of direct sunlight coming through the window so we closed the shade somewhat and beeped the temperature down on the thermostat. Due to our schedule, and not thinking it would be an issue, we left immediately and didn't advise the desk. On return later that evening, the room was still incredibly hot (~25-30C) despite the thermostat being set to 19C. We had another timeline to make but we advised the desk on leaving. We were told the room temperature was ”centrally controlled” and that it wasn't possible to change it. We were offered a change of room but this was impossible as we had to leave immediately. We were offered a fan which we accepted. On return to the room the 3rd time later that night, the temperature was ridiculously high and nearly unbearable; the vent was blowing hot. The fan was of little use as the window would not open so it simply circulated stale air. We also noticed the blinds would not fully close so early morning sunlight brought an abrupt end to an already terrible night's sleep. On check out, the person at the desk made no inquiry into the quality of our stay and we simply left the keys on the desk. I then had to call the hotel later for a copy of the receipt as one wasn't emailed. I stay in hotels 60+ nights/year and this was one of the worst for quality, value and customer service. I will not be returning.
