We recently stayed at Irnaqana Villa by GenuineHost in the Ubud and were thoroughly impressed by the architectural design and overall experience. This is not just another new villa (open late 2025), it’s a beautifully conceived private sanctuary where modern elegance meets natural tropical living in perfect harmony. Irnaqana consists of only four villas, each one a completely separate building. This gives every guest total privacy and the feeling of having your own exclusive retreat, which is rare and highly appreciated. The First Impression: A Brilliant Design Moment. From the moment you arrive, the entrance sets the tone. The elegantly designed door is a masterstroke, as it opens, it dramatically reveals the entire private swimming pool in one breathtaking view. It’s cinematic and instantly relaxing. No obstructed sightlines, just pool and lush greenery waiting for you. This clever architectural choice makes the outdoor space feel like an extension of the living area and creates that “wow” factor right away. Lush Garden & Natural Surroundings and water flow sound. The garden is lush and thoughtfully planted with a wonderful variety of tropical plants that feel completely natural and established. It’s not overly manicured, instead, it blends beautifully with the surrounding rice fields and countryside, giving a genuine sense of being immersed in Bali’s nature. Morning light filtering through the leaves, birdsong, and the gentle breeze made our mornings on the terrace truly special. Spacious Interior with Impressive High Ceilings Inside, the villa shines with its generous proportions and smart layout. The ceilings are exceptionally high — at least 5–6 meters — which not only makes the space feel incredibly airy and luxurious but also keeps the villa naturally cooler throughout the day. This is a game-changer in Bali’s climate. The unit is cleverly split into two distinct yet connected zones: • On the left side you have the dining and TV lounge area — perfect for relaxed meals or evening entertainment at the sunken seating. • On the right side is the bedroom with a bathtub and bathroom wing. Both sides offer ample space, so nothing feels cramped. The design elegantly balances modern lines, high-quality materials, and natural elements, clean aesthetics paired with warm tones and textures that nod to Balinese tradition without feeling clichéd. Every piece of furniture, lighting, and finishing feels carefully chosen and of premium quality. Bedroom & Bathroom Comfort The bed is enormous and one of the most comfortable we’ve experienced in Bali. After long days of exploring Ubud or playing sports, sinking into it was pure bliss — our backs were very thankful! The bedroom feels spacious and peaceful with excellent blackout options. The bathroom is equally impressive — spotlessly clean, with strong water pressure in the shower, fresh towels daily, and good-quality toiletries. Everything felt hygienic and well-maintained. The air conditioning is powerful and gets deliciously cold although might needs 1-2 minutes, which was welcome after hot days. Combined with the high ceilings and natural ventilation, the villa stayed comfortable at all times. Location Perks. While the villa itself is tucked away in a quiet, green setting ideal for relaxation, the surrounding area is surprisingly convenient. There’s a fantastic variety of eateries within a short distance — from authentic local warungs serving delicious Balinese food to excellent international restaurants. Final Thoughts Irnaqana Villa excels in thoughtful, high-quality design that prioritizes space, light, views, and privacy. It successfully delivers both aesthetic beauty and genuine comfort. I have many good things to say about this hotel but I must say that no other hotel beats their hospitality and warmness. On the day we arrived, we were paused from moving to listen to the manager’s introduction of the hotel and what to do if a certain situation arises. Ultimately, the briefing the manager gave us showcased the highest level of care, security, and sincerity which really made us feel at home despite staying here for 3 nights. Since there was renovation works being completed beside the hotel, we were given complimentary breakfast and a 60 minute massage. Without fail, the breakfast always appeared on our table at the timing we wanted and it is always absolutely scrumptious. During our stay, we had troubled the staff a lot - mostly because we were afraid of some small flies and occasionally bees but there was a time a spider just suddenly appeared and we went to find the staff. The moment I told the staff about this while my girlfriend was hiding underneath the bedsheets, the staff (and i’m not joking) literally jumped off his seat and ran to get his equipment and ran to the Villa we were staying at. Within 5 minutes, the spider was sent to heaven and we got to have, yet another lovely night’s rest. By the way, this was at 10:30pm and it did not even caused any trouble to the staff - the staff even made sure to spray some pesticide at dark corners and possible areas bugs may hide/nest. I’m not saying this hotel is infested with bugs, but since we are living on an island, a tropical one, there’s bound to be some. For those worried about bugs the common ones are just lizards and they are a safe signal as they are proof that all the bugs have already been eaten by them. On our last night, we went to get a spa and after the spa, we paid 700,000 IDR for 2 people for 90 minutes, directly to the massage therapists. On the way down the stairs, I could hear the staff running to us and making sure if we had paid yet or not. At first I was puzzled, but seeing the worried look and sweaty face of the staff made me realise something wasn’t right. We informed her we had paid 700,000 IDR already and she told us there is a 50% discount (-350,000IDR) that should have been given. After this, she immediately ran up to the rooftop from the 1st floor to get the refund back from the massage therapists. After that, we were so touched we tipped her and continued off to get a good night’s rest. On the day we checked out, our laundry may not have arrived on time, but thanks to the hotel they rushed it and ensured it was washed, dried, ironed, and delivered to our doorstep 3 hours before we checked out. In a nutshell, please come to this hotel/villa if you are playing near Jimbaran - such as the Jimbaran Beach for a nice lovely dinner which we went for or to the Uluwatu Cliff to take nice pictures on the beachside or enjoy a wonderful meal on the cliffside at Malini. Wie das Foto ist super, der private Pool ist gut, ich möchte jederzeit mit dem Wasser schwimmen und die Hotelumgebung ist ruhig. Im Vergleich zu dem Küchenzimmer und dem Wohnzimmer, wird das Schlafzimmer sehr dünnen. Die Schwächen des Schlafzimmers sind sehr schmutzig, die schwarzen Spuren sind gebadet, und das fehlende Warmwassersystem ist kein Warmwasser aus. Ich weiß, dass die einzelnen Probleme andere sind. Da die Wünsche, die Wohnung zu wechseln, sich widerspiegeln, ist die Verbindung zu der Quelle enttäuscht.

Das Hotel hatte definitiv schon seine besten Zeiten und ist renovierungsbedürftig. Der Pool gehört auch häufiger gereinigt. In meinem Pool waren Haare und eine große tote Spinne. Das Frühstück das im Preis inbegriffen ist schmeckt leider auch nicht besonders lecker. Neben dem Hotel befindet sich aktuell eine Baustelle die viel baulärm verursacht. Netflix auf dem Zimmer ist ein Pluspunkt

Our entire experience at this villa was absolutely excellent. Probably the best stay we’ve ever had in Bali. The villa itself is very clean and has everything you need. What I especially appreciated is that the team prepared almost everything we requested in advance for our child - a high chair, a baby cot, and other small things we needed while traveling with a toddler. It was thoughtful, genuinely helpful, and made our stay much easier. The location is also truly great. It’s max a 5-minute walk to the beach, which made it easy to go every day. There are also several convenience stores nearby, even closer than the beach (around 3mins by walking), so it’s easy to grab anything you might need. The staff is probably the best part of the entire villa! Everyone is incredibly friendly, warm, and always ready to help with anything. Our breakfast was included for 4 ppl, and every day we needed one breakfast adjusted to be suitable for our child. Even though it wasn’t on the menu, they organized it for us daily - huge thanks for that! Another thing that impressed us: we arrived around 8–9 AM, but check-in officially starts at 1 PM. After a long flight with a small child, we really needed somewhere to wait comfortably and they have a dedicated waiting room for this. It’s not just a basic room; it’s actually very good, with a bed, a toilet, and everything a family with a child might need. It helped us a lot! The same happened on departure day: checkout was at 12 PM and our flight was at 6 PM, and they let us use that room again for free. We’re very grateful for that! The chef (unfortunately I didn’t meet him personally) cooks really delicious food both for adults and for kids. The meals were so good that most of the time we ordered food directly from the villa instead of eating elsewhere. There’s enough variety to match different tastes, and you can easily rely on the villa’s food throughout your stay. I also saw some older reviews mentioning mosquitoes. I don’t know what it was like before, but during our stay they brought mosquito repellent solutions every single day without exception and it really worked. We never had any mosquito issues at all, not even our child. If I had only two small suggestions for improvement (and they were not a problem for us at all): 1 - It could be nice to have communication via WhatsApp. Of course you can call or walk to the front desk in seconds, but WhatsApp would be more convenient for some guests. 2 - A couple of times we asked for the villa to be cleaned in about 30 minutes, were told yes, but the team came closer to an hour later. I assume it was because housekeeping was busy with other villas which is totally understandable but it would be helpful to know in advance if there will be a delay. This happened only twice and never became an issue for us. Overall, this villa is amazing the place is great, the people are genuinely kind, and the entire experience was the best we’ve had in Bali. When we come back, we’ll be happy to stay here again.

Ich war für drei Tage in diesem Hotel, als ich auf Bali war. Die Umgebung ist sehr gut und der Service ist wirklich schwer. Ich muss um 2 Uhr morgens zum Lovina Hotel aufbrechen Frühstück für uns im Voraus und hinterließ es an der Rezeption, und einer von uns hatte einen Geburtstag auf seinem Pass. Als wir morgens im Restaurant frühstückten, kamen mehrere Leute mit Kuchen zu uns Alles Gute zum Geburtstag. Außerdem wussten wir nicht, dass es in ihrem Hotel ein Restaurant gibt, das mir aus tiefstem Herzen gefällt Geben Sie ihm eine 100-Sterne-Bewertung👍

Das Hotel liegt an einem Hang in Ubud, etwa eine halbe Autostunde vom Stadtzentrum und ebenfalls eine halbe Stunde von Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Reisterrassen und Wasserfällen entfernt, was die Lage recht günstig macht. Allerdings wird der vordere Teil des Hotels noch umgebaut. Es ist nicht laut, aber der Empfangsbereich ist etwas einfach gehalten. 😂 Als wir abends ankamen, regnete es, und der sogenannte Empfang war kaum besser als eine offene Rezeption 🤏 – nur zwei Vorhänge hielten den Regen ab. 😂 Unser Fahrer sah das und sagte uns, wir sollten noch nicht aussteigen, er würde nachsehen. Er hatte das schon beim Auschecken für uns arrangiert und war den ganzen Tag unser Fahrer gewesen. Nachdem er alles überprüft hatte, musste er lachen. 😂 Manchmal muss man einfach lachen, wenn einem die Worte fehlen. Das Vierbettzimmer, das wir gebucht hatten, erstreckte sich über zwei Etagen und war mit drei Holztüren in zwei Doppelzimmer unterteilt. Zwischen Rezeption und Zimmern führten nur Treppen, daher musste uns das Personal mit dem Gepäck helfen. Wir mussten sie beim Einchecken auf WhatsApp hinzufügen, da wir sie anschließend über WhatsApp kontaktieren mussten. Dazu gehörten Dinge wie die Frühstücksbestellung am Vortag, die Nachfrage, ob wir das Haus verlassen hatten, bevor das Zimmer gereinigt wurde, und sogar die Entdeckung einer Schlange im Außenbereich 🙀🙀🙀 Ich habe ihnen auch über WhatsApp gesagt, sie sollen sich schnell darum kümmern 😂 Ich hatte wirklich Todesangst. Ich konnte es kaum erwarten und habe sie sogar per WhatsApp angerufen. Sie waren ebenfalls überrascht, von der Schlange zu hören, und fragten mich: „Sind Sie …?“ Sicher? 😅 Als sie ankamen, war das Schild nirgends zu sehen, aber sie kamen herein und fanden es am Holzzaun neben der Tür, sogar im Dämmerlicht der Nacht. Anscheinend haben sie schon öfter ähnliche Situationen gemeistert 😅 Das Frühstück wird übrigens direkt aufs Zimmer gebracht. Man muss nur bis 20 Uhr am Vortag bestellen und eine Uhrzeit reservieren. Die Chicken-Wraps waren wirklich lecker 👍🏻 Das Hotel hat ein richtig rustikales, abgeschiedenes Flair, was mir sehr gut gefallen hat. Umgeben von Bäumen und dem Plätschern von Bächen hätte ich stundenlang verträumt dasitzen können 😬 Der einzige Nachteil ist die etwas mangelhafte Wasserqualität, wie online schon erwähnt wurde. Wir hatten unsere eigenen Duschköpfe dabei, und nach zwei Duschen war der Filter schon leicht gelblich. Im vorherigen Hotel hingegen, wo wir drei Nächte lang geduscht haben, war das Wasser überhaupt nicht gelb 🤔 Insgesamt würde ich dem Hotel 7 von 10 Punkten geben.

We love heritage buildings and vintage style, so these little bungalows were perfect for us. They were a little walk away from the reception (no buggy!) which meant so peaceful and quiet! Gorgeous wooden bedroom and bathroom. The shower is a little outdated and when I first turned it on there was a sulphuric smell which was a bit concerning. Basically, if you like rustic, no frills, no extra service etc then these are a lovely cute experience. However, if you want luxury and are squeamish about old style open homes, this isn't for you. Breakfast was very basic so we generally ate out. The main receptionist was a lovely gentlemen, a very quick registration and we were in! Rooms were clean and nice and dark for a cosy sleep at night.

Wir haben uns in diesem Hotel wirklich gefreut. Wir reisen als zwei Paare und wir erwarteten ehrlich gesagt nicht, einen so schönen und friedlichen Ort von den besetzten Touristenrouten zu finden. Das Hotel ist charmant, sehr gut gepflegt und verfügt über eine besondere Atmosphäre, die Sie von der ersten Minute entspannt fühlen. Es ist auch bequem in der Nähe einer der berühmten Attraktionen von Bali, Lohongan Sweet, was ein wunderbarer Bonus für uns war. Der Besitzer ist absolut wunderbar unglaublich willkommen und aufmerksam. Seine Gastfreundschaft hat uns zu Hause fühlen und hat uns sogar dazu gebracht, unseren Urlaub zu verlängern und hier länger zu bleiben. Wir empfehlen dieses Hotel glücklich jedem, der einen einzigartigen und erinnerlichen Aufenthalt sucht. Bitte beachten Sie, dass Sie den Gastgeber im Voraus auf dem Gutscheinzimmer kontaktieren müssen. Die Türen sind offen von Ihnen selbst schwierig. Und wenn Sie in diesem Familienhotel niemand finden, rufen Sie den Gastgeber aus seinem Haus an, das ist die nächste Tür. Es ist wunderbar und das Hotel ist schön und sieht aus wie eine Villa, aber zum Preis der Gesta. Der Pool ist tief, es gibt alles in der Küche, fünf Minuten zu Fuß Geschäfte, Pastell sind komfortabel, alles ist sauber und zielreich!

I spent 5 nights at Kose Villas Ubud, and this is one of those places where the setting truly shapes half of the experience. Location & vibe Kose Villas sits right in the middle of rice fields—quiet, lush, and instantly calming. It feels like Ubud suddenly switches to “slow living” mode. The views are unquestionable: absolutely beautiful. If you’re coming for serenity and scenery, this is exactly why you’d stay here. Important note about the access road One thing to keep in mind: getting to the villas involves walking/driving through the rice fields on a narrow path, with a small stream/irrigation canal running alongside. If you’re not a confident rider/driver (especially on a scooter), or if walking is difficult for you, this could be a challenge—particularly in the evening or if you’re carrying heavy luggage. The staff offer a motorbike transfer to and from the main road. I personally walked every time, and it took about 5–7 minutes at a relaxed pace. It’s a lovely walk—just important to know the setup in advance. The room: airy, high ceilings & a glass wall My standard villa felt genuinely nice: high ceilings, lots of space, and one full glass wall that makes the room feel even more open. I had a unit with a garden view and a small kitchen. I didn’t cook at all, but having a fridge was truly convenient (water, fruit, snacks—anything you want to keep for the next morning). There’s also a kettle, but oddly the only option provided was instant coffee sachets—no tea (a small detail, but in Ubud it feels like tea should be a given). Bathroom & shower The bathroom and shower are standard and fine. The only thing I noticed: the “hot” water felt slightly lukewarm, even at the maximum setting. It didn’t bother me—since the weather was hot, a cooler shower actually felt refreshing. But if you love a truly hot shower, it’s something to note (and perhaps for the hotel to check). What disappointed me A few things kept this from feeling like a fully polished villa stay: • No hair dryer—at all. I asked at reception, and it turns out the hotel simply doesn’t have hair dryers. For this type of stay, that’s a surprising and inconvenient omission. • Not enough lighting in the evening. During the day it’s bright and beautiful, but once the sun sets the room feels quite dim—there aren’t enough lamps for a comfortable evening (reading, working, getting ready). • “Shared” pool, but not really. I was a bit confused to learn the shared pool isn’t shared across the whole property, but only for two units (1 and 2). The place also seemed quite empty during my stay, yet I still wasn’t offered access to the pool. Not a huge deal, but it did feel like a service/communication gap. Overall Overall, I left with a positive impression, mostly thanks to the location: rice fields, quiet, gorgeous views, and a real sense of privacy. It’s a great place for a reset—slow mornings, nature all around, and that “Ubud green” backdrop. That said, if the hotel wants to consistently earn a higher rating, it should improve a few basics: provide hair dryers, add better lighting, communicate more clearly about the pool, and possibly check the water temperature.
